  1. Still don't get why the Packers took their foot off the pedal in the 2nd half. Also, how bad does it look that they didn't go for the TD on those short goal to goes.
  2. Definitely agree. They'll come up with a better game plan defensively.
  3. There's that read option pass... If Hawk bites you throw it, if he doesnt you run it. Forced him to make a decision. Ballsy.
  4. I wouldn't say Wilson has talent around him besides Lynch. Look at their receiving core. He benefits from a very good defense and an offense designed not to highlight Wilsons weakness and play to his strengths.
  5. Why don't you think they'll have enough money for Dareus? They are currently $23MM under the cap, add in the $19MM in rollover and the Bills have the 4th most money to spend in FA. They can sign a lot of players. Also, the salary cap just keeps going up. It's a possibility it'll be around $160MM by 2017. The Bills also don't have a franchise QB that would cost $13MM-$20MM so might as well spend the money keeping the defense together until they do find one.
  6. Bills FA to sign: Hughes, DE $10MM-$12MM a year Searcy, S $1.5MM-$2.5MM a year Wynn, DE Easley, WR Other FA to sign: Clint Boling, G $5MM-$7MM a year Julius Thomas, TE $6MM-$7MM a year I think the number is going to be a little higher than $25MM because I believe that doesn't include the $19MM in rollover and the money they'll save from Mike Williams. If they get those done, it would be a steal. And there is plenty of room in the upcoming years to sign our own as the salary cap rises. EDIT: Oh and pick one of the FA QB's off of the trash heap.
  7. Pretty impressive. Wonder how they feel about having to reselect their seats.
  8. Lots of OL players, especially the guys from Louisville.
  9. Here ya go: http://www.thephinsider.com/2014/1/25/5343964/nfl-power-structures-who-really-runs-a-team That's the Patriots*, Steelers, Jaguars, Chiefs, Cowboys, Giants, Eagles, 49ers(formally Harbaugh), Seahawks, Rams and now the Bills. All coaches report directly to the Owner. In some cases the coach has control over player personnel (Pats*, Chiefs, Seahawks and now Eagles) and in the others the GM is in control of the 53 man roster and the coach has input but is in charge of the 46. The Jets, Falcons and Dolphins don't have a similar structure to the Bills at all. As you can see there a plenty of successful teams in that mix, in fact the majority of them are.
  10. I see that. Thanks. Still, I say pay the man. The Bills aren't paying a big QB salary, so might as well spend that money. It won't hurt their ability to pay a QB if further down the line they need to.
  11. I do remember hearing that. Wouldn't it make more sense though to pay a bigger portion of the contract now? With the salary cap going up every year it almost like every team has roll over with the increases.
  12. I don't see why people are so adverse to signing Hughes at that price. The Bills aren't paying a franchise QB and are unlikely to do so in the next 3-4 years. Because they aren't they can afford to pay these defensive guys. They just have to be smart about how they do it. Front load the contract and pay the man.
  13. http://m.espn.go.com/general/blogs/blogpost?blogname=buffalo-bills&id=17098&src=desktop&rand=ref~%7B%22ref%22%3A%22http%3A%2F%2Fforums.twobillsdrive.com%2Ftopic%2F175475-pepper-johnson%2Fpage-2%22%7D I wouldn't say the positions are all full. Look what he did for Donnie Henderson, he split the DBs. He could just as easily split the LBs into 2 or the DL. If Pepper wants to work on the defensive staff I believe very much he has a job. Rex was always going to bring his guys, he wouldn't have offered a spot to then take it away. And he would t have made it public.
  14. Yolo posted a link saying Rex has said he has a spot waiting for Pepper when he's done interviewing. I doubt Rex is the type of guy to say, "sorry all the positions are full now." I think Pepper just hasn't made up his mind.
  15. Who's decision was it to start Richardson? Marrone's. He could have just as easily started Urbik, who as much as you want to say is a slight upgrade, is in fact a good upgrade. Nope, he didn't. And for four weeks the Buffalo line suffered. Hilarious that you don't remember just how bad Richardson was.
  16. Ok and funny enough personnel side was correct. Additionally, you don't think St. Doug gave any opinions whatsoever on who Doug W. drafted or picked up in FA for the OL. You think Doug W. just said "I'm drafting these people, make it work."? Really?
  17. You keep posting the bolded and have yet to provide an article or post anywhere where it's mentioned that "Marrone wanted different players and was told what he had was good enough." Where was that ever said?
  18. I think that's part of the reason he didn't like or want to wait around for the Atlanta job. You got Dimitroff as GM and Pioli as Assistant GM and then Blank. Apparently they all have a say on personnel. Too many cooks in the kitchen. Add to that there was a lot of disagreement between Mike Smith and Dimitroff on how to build the defense. Sounds like a mess.
  19. Sorry should have said will be going on sale... Monday.
  20. http://www.nfluk.com/tickets/ Rest of the tickets have gone on sale.
  21. That's about where I would have put him. Lack of film, like Whaley said, has got to drop you quite a bit. I know people here were taking 2/3 round, I just don't think you spend a 2nd rounder on an unknown. 2nd round is for starters still.
  22. True. But it gives other teams time to figure him out. And what if he isn't the starter next year.
  23. Some good ones here: @SalSports: We should all hold press conferences at the end of each week to announce we are going back to work Monday.....with intro music. And my favorite: @WillBrinson: Cardale Jones just said I dont know why you guys made this such a big deal. DUDE.
