  1. Pretty sure the Dolphins won the offseason when they signed Wallace, Ellerbe and Wheeler... How'd that work out for them?
  2. Haha, what fantasy land. He was just tagged for $14 million and was coming off a monster year. If you think he'll come cheaper than Hughes, I don't know what to tell you.
  3. So go after Hardy who will surely command $14 million a year?
  4. Has he broke anything before? EDIT: Not that I doubt this guy but it seems odd that no one has picked this up. Add to that going through his feed he went from tweeting about political stuff to being an insider...
  5. McCoy's YPA declined from 2011 to 2012 too oh god!
  6. It's simple, signing bonuses. If Jerry Hughes signs let's say a 5 year $55 million contract with the Bills with $25 million guaranteed and the Bills make $15 million of that a signing bonus, that would mean that the $15 million gets spread over the 5 years of the contract. So $3 million against the cap per year, if they want to they could make his base salary a $1 million for the first year and then when the cap jumps next year make his base salary higher to reduce his dead cap amount. Make his base salary in 2016 $7 million with the $3 million signing bonus and the Bills have effectively gotten rid of 2/3's of Hughes guaranteed money. So in year 1 Hughes would only count $4 million against the cap. They can do this with lots of players and do.
  7. I'm sorry but that's a ridiculous article. The Eagles won long term because Schein likes what Chip Kelly is doing in Philadelphia on offense? Marcus Mariota played brilliant in his system and could step in? Really? Philadelphia is picking 20th, its great that Schein just assumea Philly can move up and grab Mariota. Schein voted for Alonso for rookie of the year, so that means Kelly is smart. Lets forget that he just dumped his best defensive player in Trent Cole but don't worry they picked up Alonso, who Schein voted for. So let me get this straight, Rex is defensive genius with a lot of bravado and trusts in his ability and system. Chip Kelly is a offensive genius with a lot of bravado and trusts in his ability and system. The Bills have no franchise QB, Rex struggles at finding one, apparently. The Eagles don't have a franchise QB and Foles/Sanchez were fairly quickly figured out by opposing defenses but that's ok because Kelly's system works, apparently. There was another Philly coach who was brilliant with the offense and never could figure out the defense. i'm pretty sure he's working for Kansas City now. I wouldn't call that analysis sobering at all.
  8. I'm not going to do your work for you. And now you are calling out posters because no one suggested that Kiko be traded? Wow.
  9. You know there is a search function right?
  10. Why would someone have an axe to grind about Kiko's place on the defense. Have people questioned it? Sure they have but it wouldn't be a point that someone deliberately beat a drum about, Kiko was still on the team at that point, so what would be the point?
  11. So what? They are still facts and to some, like myself, justify why Kiko was traded.
  12. What does me never posting about Kiko being "il-fitted, underutilized and worth trading" have to do with Kiko being all 3 of those things. The facts, which are the emergence of Brown and Bradham and how the defense played last year, are why Ryan wanted to trade Kiko. Those facts don't change just because I never posted it.
  13. Sammy Watkins to Jacksonville for Nate Hackett and a bag of footballs.
  14. He played in a Mike Pettine scheme, not a Rex Ryan scheme. Just because Mike worked for Ryan doesn't mean they run the exact same scheme. Notice how Ryan's teams never have a problem with the run game, notice how Mike's do. And you are assuming the Bills will run a "360 degree" different scheme. Ryan has already talked about he's run a 4-3. 3-4. 4-6.... he's run all of them. Ryan is the expert here in defense, he doesn't seem to think he'll need Kiko. He watched the Bills defense twice last year completely destroy his own team all without Kiko. I don't think it's an assumption at all on Ryan or the Bills part that Kiko's value to the team is much less considering how the team performed last year. It was proven. And speaking of assumption, you are assuming Kiko will pick right back up where he left off.
  15. That was proved last year. The defense was better without Kiko, there is no assumption to be made.
  16. To the bold: Considering that's almost exactly what the Buffalo Bills did in 2014, you tell me?
  17. So the difference between LeSean McCoy and Joique Bell is pretty slim? Bell hasn't topped a 1,000 yard season yet. His career YPC is 4.1. Bell has only been in the league for 3 seasons but if you compare it to McCoy's first season, it's not even close. McCoy had more than a 1,000 more yards rushing then Bell and 10 more TD's. He also averaged a half yard more per carry. I suppose the only place they may be similar is receiving stats, but even then McCoy has scored way more TD's receiving. If that was a different position, say WR, you would clearly say there is a significant difference in the player.
  18. As far as I'm aware Rex is in charge of the game day roster, of which, Kiko would ultimately fall into. He probably looked through last years film and determined that Kiko wasn't really needed, which he isn't. He then probably had a meeting with Whaley and said these are the guys I don't need and these are the guys I'd like to keep. Knowing all of this Whaley got the phone call from Kelly who probably said they would like to trade McCoy, what can the Bills offer? A draft pick? Whaley could have then said they weren't willing to trade a draft pick but how about Kiko Alonso? Kelly, foaming at the mouth to get another former Duck, says "Hell Yes!". Deal is done. None of that means Rex has more power than Whaley.
  19. Those are good points and a fair assessment And as good as Kiko was his rookie year, he's still an unknown. Was it the dline in front of him? Was it just a good rookie year and thats it? Is his knee completely healed? The Bills were able to turn a player who is good but replaceable into an elite talent.
  20. @Jeff_McLane: Last night was obv not best for LeSean McCoy, but despite not being initially thrilled about trade he's now "ready to move on," per source.
  21. 15. Rex promises to "pimp out" a truck for McCoy.
  22. Which would be absolutely the worst decision, considering he isn't getting any younger. The report is a bunch of BS, the whole "he's only ever played football in Pennsylvania..." is a lie, he played prep football at Milford Academy, which is in New York. and now there's this: @Jeff_McLane: Last night was obv not best for LeSean McCoy, but despite not being initially thrilled about trade he's now "ready to move on," per source.
  23. I think they would extend his deal out by a couple years. Give him more guaranteed and spread the cap hit out.
  24. Thanks, couldn't remember if that included it or not.
  25. I think your math is a bit off. The Bills will have $22 million left AFTER trading for McCoy. $3.5 million will go to rookies. Bradham, Dareus, Glenn and Gilmore all don't need to be signed THIS year. In fact none of them need to be signed and put under this years cap numbers. The Bills are looking to sign Hughes, that's about it in terms of there own guys. Add to that, McCoy will be smart to restructure, he has no guaranteed money in 2016. If the Bills are able to restructure his contract that will lower his cap hit AND give him more guaranteed money. The cap is going to go up next year, there will be plenty of room to sign those guys. You know who there probably wouldn't have been room for, if he played to his potential? Alonso. The cap issue is completely overblown.
