  1. Count me as another that fully supports and appreciates what Cover1 brings to the forum/reddit. Boyst needs a hobby.
  2. Wait, McCown is considered to be a better QB than Tyrod?
  3. Certainly. Would just like to see a coach get to really install their systems, and develop their preferred players for once. I know some teams/coaches turn things around in one year, but I'm not sure if that's the norm or not. Seems like one would need a bit of time.
  4. I'd love to see us give a staff more than 2-3 years, even if that means being bad for a while.
  5. What's the definition of 'franchise QB'? Entrenched starter? If so, we have a franchise QB. Or is it a starter that can carry an otherwise bad team? If so, there's maybe 5 franchise QBs in the league. Which means there's only 5 good GMs in the league.
  6. He'd be a fine backup, but I don't see us signing a guy, I have a feeling we'll be drafting someone and letting them and Cardale battle it out for #2. As far as his politics, it doesn't bother me. Rex helped Trump, it's not really any different imo. Their politics are their own, and as long as their employer is ok with what they do during the game, then I don't care either.
  7. Bill healthy? I'll believe it when I see it
  8. I've been to Grand Central a handful of times, good people, just not a whole lot of seating.
  9. Is there a competition for stupid ideas or something?
  10. It bothers me how often people use resign instead of re-sign.
  11. This isn't different than any other year. Hope we can squeeze into a wild card berth, but otherwise, I'm keeping low expectations.
  12. Question: Does Brady develop into GOAT if not for being drafted by the Patriots?
  13. Definitely! I mean, we've been down this road before, you know my opinion of Tyrod is that he's a middle of the road guy. Good enough to not lose us games, but not good enough to carry a bad team.
  14. Great post, OP. Drives home my opinion that many QBs falter when missing WR1/WR2.
  15. Re designed runs. I think designed runs have their purpose, especially if they are option plays. It sets up other plays later in the game, and also keeps the other team honest. Also 4.9ypc isn't bad at all for a running play, if you think about it.
  16. Yeah, makes sense. Also makes stats messy... but stats are always messy when you involve humans, I guess.
  17. Is there a definition, or is it one of those subjective things? Someone just looks at it and determines if passing was an option that play?
  18. Re Sacks, if Tyrod is running either designed or doesn't see what he likes, and he's caught behind the line, is that a Sack? One thing I noticed last year that doesn't get much discussion... Tyrod is pretty good at trying to minimize losses behind the line, he often escapes an initial sack attempt, and either runs for a gain, throws it away, or get's closer to the line. Possibly reflected in yards per sack? Still, he does take too many sacks because he doesn't like to throw the ball away, and he doesn't like to throw to covered receivers that aren't named Sammy Watkins. Sure it's not the same as being a prolific passer, but if you're getting yards and first downs, then that's better than not. Tyrod led the league in running attempts, yards, TDs, and in yards per attempt* as a runner. Our offense was designed with Tyrod to have the flexibility to run a lot... I wonder if coaches tell him that it's fine to hold on to the ball for an opportunity to run, vs just throwing it away. 19. Salas missed the entire year, he was WR3... so yes, missing WR1, WR2 and WR3 for extended periods does have an impact. There's a reason Clay got the most targets on the team. I'd love for Tyrod to be good enough where missing WR1 for half the year, and WR3 for the full year doesn't make a difference.
  20. I'm agnostic, leaning towards atheism. Nothing proves there's a god to me so far, but I certainly acknowledge that humans are limited in scope of understanding, so who the hell knows what's out there. But thanks for the Hitler comparo
  21. I'm a big fan of the stats in the OP, and its why I've long held that TT is roughly an average starting QB in the NFL. Last year he was down 3 of his top 4 WRs, that has an impact on an average QB. Sure, we'd wish for him to make use of anyone ala Brady, but he's not Brady so it's not happening.
  22. I'm thinking DB, with a WR in the second, and a QB in the 3rd or 4th. Edit: Also I hope we trade down and pick up some extra picks.
