Sorry, but the QBs are what win you the championships now. This is line of thought is old hat, that defense wins championships. QBs are setup to succeed in the NFL. I'm all for Good defense and the Bills fixing theirs, via draft and Free Agency. Alot of this could have been fixed have the Bills went after Julius Peppers and Carlos Dansby last offseason, but the powers that be thought they were so smart and knew what they had. Nix and Gailey obviously failed in the 2010 offeason. It's now the 2011 offseason and now they must come out swinging to turn this thing around. I'm all for the Defense, but if Andrew Luck comes out and is sitting at #3, you take him no questions asked. QBs score the points and win the championships now!

If Luck declares, you draft him. Otherwise Fairley sounds like a solid pick!

It's a bad football team. This year is make or break for me as a fan until a new owner comes. Reason being. Nix and Gailey had a whole season now to evaluate what they got. Last offseason, they signed marginal talent and evaluated poorly in the preseason. They thought they were better then they actually were. Well, obviously they crapped out. This past season should be a reality check. It's now up to them to make good decisions. They must draft impact players. Sign highly touted FAs and get this train back on the tracks. If I see a repeat of last offseason, I know I'll be wasting my time watching the Bills in 2011. Because they will be the same team or worse, and that means we'll keep treading water until a new owner comes and rebuilds the whole organization.

No, NO, NO!!! No to Cam Newton. The guy has too many character issues. You only draft Luck if and that's a big IF, he declares for the draft otherwise, you draft big men with the #3 overall pick. Fairley sounds like a good option to me, if he's there at 3.

Scary stuff. Hopefully this isn't the master plan of the offseason. I hope both Nix and Gailey wake up and realize than inaction and signing meandering low impact free agents will get them nowhere. I keep hearing Build through the draft. So how many drafts do I have to endure before we're in anything close to resembling a consistant 10-6 team year in and out???

Yeah, with all the holes on this team, It might just be smart to concentrate on Offense or Defense in the offseason. Offensive holes is def the LT,RT and TE. Those need to be addressed. On the Defense, we need to decide our identity. Are we 3-4, or 4-3. Then draft, plan accordingly to fit that type of D

Yeah if Fitzy goes down, like for more than a week, we're screwed. This needs to be seriously addressed. It a QB league. Need to have a good one on the Pine when called upon...

I just hope these guys got a serious wake up call and rethink their approach to this offseason and not take it so nonchalantly as they did last season. I hope Nix realizes he has some major work to do and we need a big turnover in players in order to get a strong base and cut the dead wood like Maybin. If it's a repeat of last offseason. Then I strongly believe this team will get nowhere. Not resigning our good players and only signing marginal free agents and non impact Draft Picks ala last season will bring us a top 10 pick in 2012 as well...

Yeah, 4-12. That's something to get excited about right? It's an awful football Team. Nix rather be sleeping then being on the phone signing FA talent and changing the culture around here. Gailey is a marginal coach at best. He should have never changed the D to 3-4 without getting the personnel in here to make that change and He couldn't evaluate our QB situation until Edwards got schlacked against the Packers. Yep. I'm so proud of these guys...

Agreed. It killed us when we didn't resign London Fletcher. He may have been small, but he was our top tackler. That's another one that shouldn't have been let go. Keep Whitner and Poslozny. They may never live up to their potentional/draft position, BUT... They are NFL caliber players. They are usually our leading Tacklers. We need all the LB help we can get and We don't need to draft Safties again. Again it's not our Money, but if I'm absolute dictator of the Bills, I keep these guys and try to improve elsewhere. This team has more holes than swiss cheese. We don't need to keep making more and keep losing talent.

Exactly. 16 is enough. I'm sick of the Greed of the owners. They are effectively killing the NFL. There are too many injuries in the game as it is. It seems like compared to the 80s, 90s there are waaaay more injuries. You're just gonna have a watered down product on the field. I'm also not in favor of expanding the playoffs. I'm sick of seeing 12-4 teams losing to 8-8 teams. It's garbage. If you're 8-8 or less you should be eliminated from competition, unless you win the division. Keep the playoffs as is. No expanding!!!! They also need to get rid of teams. Get rid of Jacksonville and Carolina, they both suck and barely have a fan base anymore. 30 Teams would make it more competitive. Have a retraction draft, just like the college one, but this will be drafting Pros. This would also help. Better coaches and talent on the teams. Bring back 3 divisions. East, Central and West. 5 teams per division. It was great that way. My underlining point is. I'm sick of greedy owners ruining an amazing game. NFL Football is an amazing game. I hate how they keep trying to tinker with the game. No to 18 Games, Expanding the playoffs and No more Teams!!!!

Trade up for what? Andrew Luck is not coming out of college. He's the only Player worth trading up for.

Sounds about right. They keep spinning their wheels in the parking lot. Never keeping quality talent. This really is a sad organization. The only way I see this stopping is good drafting. They got to be dead on, on their picks and hope they become all-pros and keep these players. They only other way is to let the change purse loose and start out bidding other teams. But most players wanna go to winning organizations, which we obviously are not one of...

We already have Brohm. Basically the same guy... except Smith went overall in the draft in 2005. I see no reason to pick up someone's trash. He's the second coming of Tim Couch, Ryan Leaf, Gina Toretta... Should I go on??

According to last year, when Nix was introduced as GM. He's the guy who's in charge according to Wilson's comments last year when introduced. Now that may mean absolutely nothing. Thing is we can only speculate as fans. But according to what their saying, I believe Nix has the final word on the Pick. His philopshy is building through the draft and taking the best available player when they draft. That's the Nix philosphy. I know they need a QB, but I don't think he'll break from his philosophy.

I hope the Bills target these guys. But it's the Bills and my hopes of this team doing anything productive in the offseason is slim to nil. Look at last offseason. It was a complete waste. They should have went after Peppers and Dansby and offered them whatever it takes to get them here.

This a surprise to people???? It's a bad football team people... Wake up already. Kyle Williams isn't a pro bowler and neither is Stevie Johnson. They're good players but not well known enough. Pro Bowl has become a Good Ol' Boys institution. I hate All-Star games and the like. It's a team sport. You either succeed as a team or fail. The Bills obviously failed miserably...
