  1. Because the kid can kick like a mule and will be Lindell's replacement next year. Just wait until Lindell misses one from 45 in the wind. Then you'll see why Potter is here.
  2. Who is saying anything about hanging hopes on Easley? The idea that the FO thinks highly of him and that they want him to succeed is not a bad thing. Its not as if the hopes of the Bills rest in the hands of Marcus Easley. I would have liked to see them get a little more explosive on the outside, but adding Graham was a great move that will help take some of the pressure off the short timing routes. When Easley takes the field this year, he will either do something or he won't. If he doesn't, so what its nothing lost. If he does its just gravy on the plate.
  3. A better question is how many of those receivers came from an offense that left them unprepared for the pro game. To much emphasis is put on the LT position, especially in this offense. Did the Steeleres have an elite LT? Nope, they have Jonathan Scott. When you get the ball out quick it doesnt matter who is on the line. Who is catching that quick pass does matter. I'll take a playmaker all day over a LT.
  4. I actually like them a lot. I think it harkens back to the leather head days. As for a Bills 3rd jersey. I think all reds to go along with all blues would be sweet.
  5. Doug Flutie didn't do anything worth a hill of beans in the NFL. Wilson will be a gadget player, best in a wildcat/option look. Thats it. The idea that he could ever be a starter is wishful thinking at best. Thats just the way the NFL works, bigger stronger, faster doesn't stop applying because a 5'11" threw the ball like Brett Favre, whatever that means...
  6. This would be a great signing for the Bills. Wimbley has had his best years as a Sam in the Oakland 43, he doesn't exactly fit the model of LB that Wanny looks for, however it would bring instant legitimacy to the LB's on this team. The defense could get shored up quickly with the addition of Jeremy Mincey and Vinny Curry in the draft. IMO, Wimbley is a must sign for this team if he gets cut.
  7. Why all the hate? He's a good RB. Look at the line and the system that he played in here, and look at the line and system he plays in out in Seattle. The line here was garbage when he left. Before that it was anchored by such greats as Duke Preston. And we complain because he never hit the hole... how many times did Jackson hit those holes, and get nowhere. Everyone was so quick to run Lynch out of town, that they forgot the terrible coaching staff and line that was in place while he was here. Sure he acted like a bonehead, but unless it was your $20 he took, who cares? I for one miss Lynch. I would have rather they traded Fred Jackson, than Lynch. Lynch with this line and this system, would be just as productive for longer that Jackson will be. JMO...
  8. When you watch Courtney Upshaw play, he is an animal. His "stiff hips" and slow cone drills go right out the window. Upshaw is a 3 down player day 1 on this Bills team. He can play LE and let Kelsay play RE with Merriman. Upshaw sets the edge, is instinctive to the ball, and beyond that, finishes plays. That alone makes him worthy of the pick. He is probably the safest DE to take in the first round. What I would love to see is for the Bills to trade down with Cincy, pick up both of their 1st round picks, and take Upshaw and the best WR on the board. That solves 2 problems in the 1st round, and the FO can spend the rest of the draft bringing in high quality depth so that when the inevitable 21 man IR List begins to build, this team isn't left with Ruvell Martin and that guy who got picked up mid-season off the waiver wire.
  9. I know this may not be the right place, but pirated material is such a misnomer. If I upload a video clip of a Bills game that I took on my phone to youtube, is that pirated? If I upload a CD for a friend on Megaupload, is that pirated? Thinking that it is creates a slippery slope for private property and personal ownership. Its a scary future if this type of thinking becomes prevalent. Well you are just an angel, aren't you? Apparently reading comprehension and critical thinking skills are not prerequisites for getting your wings in heaven.
  10. There are more irregulars than you would think. Considering both the skill level of the workers and the conditions that they work in, there are more errors in manufacturing than you would think. The sites that sell jerseys with holograms may indeed be black market, and I cannot comment on that. What I can comment on though are the sights that sell discounted factory irregulars. There may a limited number of them, but the reality is that companies are allowed to keep and resell them locally. Its the same with Super Bowl Champion T-shirts that are made pre-game with the loser on the front. Those clothing items get donated overseas. The NFL doesn't want the irregular products being sold in Amercia for two reasons, 1.) because it is an inferior product, and 2.) because LEGALLY they cannot charge for it therefore they get cut out of the money. Your assumption that the NFL will cut ties with a company that produces irregulars is a bit naive. As for the widespread busts you speak about, I wonder how many of those places are selling knockoffs as the real thing? Thats fraud, and is most times what gets people busted. Selling of unlicensed goods as licensed ones is the issue that I think you have a problem with. The selling of factory irregulars, shouldn't be. But it seems like you are the type of person who is less interested in actual facts, than just being angry about people getting a deal. I bought 4 jerseys this year. They are all irregulars. I wear them on Sundays and spill hot sauce ketchup blue cheese and soda all over them. And I could care less. You know why? I paid $130 for 4 of them. If Im the problem, then fine. I committed no crime, and worked within the boundaries of the law that exists today. Its not the fault of the educated consumer that the NFL and the global market has not been able to catch up with the advent of the internet and international retail. The world wants China's cheap labor and cheaper products, but they also want to charge full price for everything. And in the modern world, that just isn't a reality.
  11. Its actually not copyright theft. Nor is it piracy. The selling of irregular jerseys overseas falls under the category of grey market. Actual theft of officially licensed materials from the NFL would be Black Market or Piracy or bootlegging. However, sites that provide a consumer with jerseys that are factory irregulars is not illegal. Its no different than going to TJ Maxx or Marshalls and buying a jersey there. The main difference is a quality of the product and the little hologram sticker that the NFL applies once the jerseys manufactured in China pass through customs. A jersey that falls off the back of a truck an is sold on Ebay is different that factory direct irregulars bought from overseas. I really like both the cleats and the gloves. Im really hoping for some kind of Nike Combat Jersey to be used as an alternate home jersey. As much as everyone hated those "leaked" photoshop Nike Uniforms from last year, I thought the concept was great. Nike pushed the Uniform foundry this year with the University of Maryland Combat Uni's and as always the weekly University of Oregon Uniforms. Im looking forward to what Nike brings to the table in the coming months.
  12. How can anyone be against what he said? That hit on McCoy was legal 4 years ago. Now its not. People want to call Harrison a head hunter, but thats what the media praised him for with DPOY award. The Rooney's rewarded him with a huge contract. Everyone loved his aggression and his passion. Now he's a danger to the game? Fans have become so fickle now, it's taken all the fun out of the game.
  13. I'd be interested to see what a Kevin Greene defense would look like. Probably a fierce pass rush which would be awesome to see. I wonder what his coverage schemes would look like. That's the biggest issue. These current schemes are obviously to complex for the CB's to understand considering all the blown assignments week after week. I wish we could see a little more press an bump and run. There are guys on this team who can play single coverage on this defense, they just need to be allowed to do it.
  14. Gailey can create some outstanding mismatches today against that slow Giants LB and Secondary by moving Spiller around. He's never going to be a run between the tackles guy. Thats fine, but Gailey has to get him the ball in space, and he can do that today against this Giants team. Screens, draws, bubble screens, wheel routes, anything to get a LB or a Safety one on one with Spiller, and we could see a big play or two from the #9 overall.
  15. I think the defense is going to step up big today. The Giants O-line is beat up, they're playing without Jacobs. Mario Manningham and Hakeem Nicks are nice players, but neither are burners or unstoppable athletes. Victor Cruz makes a lot of dumb mistakes and frankly, that team isn't coached well enough for those mistakes to disappear in a week. I don't see why the defense won't have a good showing this week. Its not going to be a blow out by any means, but this defense can stop the Giants offense. This whole game comes down to what the Bills O-line can do to minimize Osi and Kiwi. Those LB's and Secondary doesn't scare me at all. Antrelle Rolle has a big mouth, but has slowed down considerably this year. Kenny Phillips is becoming the same kind of player as Rolle. JPP is scary, but not unstoppable. Again, I think this Bills team is a better matchup against this Giants team. Its gonna be close for sure, but all the Bills have to do is play their game, minimize the mistakes and execute. Bills 31 Giants 24 Go Bills!!
  16. I guess i dont consider Wimbley a speed rusher. He's a finesse guy for sure, but i dont put him in the same category as Hali or Matthews. He's a threat, but i dont think he has the ability to overpower either of the tackles.
  17. The problem is that the Raiders D-line played very aggrressive. I know that the Oline is supposed to be a bunch of mean boys, but they are going to have to fight hard to maintain control of LOS. That being said, they have no true speed rusher, just a lot of bull rush type defenders. I like the odds of that in favor of the Bills. Im hoping for a tough hard game. As long as the Bills dont get dragged into any foolish penalties, it should be a victory.
  18. Its amazing to think that Akin Ayodele Reggie Torbor and Chris Kelsay present a better combination of OLB's than Antonio Coleman Aaron Maybin and Arthur Moats. And that Spencer Johnson is a better option than Alex Carrington. Where is the youth from the first year of the rebuilding effort? Where are the rookies from this years draft? What do they contribute? This defense has so many holes on it, its embarrassing. Why is Drayton Flroence on the field to give away yet another game because of reckless play and poor skill. Why is Ashton Youboty and Reggie Corner on the bench? Where has Jairus Byrd been all season? Why does he sit back 15 yards behind the play and give no support in run defense? Is this scheme or is it lack of skill? At what point is the defensive coordinator going to be held responsible for this? Someone has to be held accountable, and it sure isnt going to be the Captain Chris Kelsay. I am disgusted today. To lose by 3 points the way they did is just despicable.
  19. Theres no way that Luck comes out this year. To many things stacked against him I think. The accuracy needs to come up, he needs to finish stronger in games, going 8-5 in the Pac-10 is fine, but in the NFL, he's going to need to learn how to put a team on his shoulders and carry them to victory. His body of work, though impressive, is small. He needs more experience plain and simple. Plus, smart kids like him don't leave an Ivy League school 2 years early to play pro ball. Maybe at an SEC school or even USC, but not Stanford. Harbaugh has a lot invested in him, and I don't think he'll let him go so easily. There is also the labor agreement. What kid is going to sacrifice his college career (both academic and athletic) to possibly sit out an entire year with no practice or training. I think the draft class of 2011 is going to be limited to seniors and redshirted juniors. But thats just me.
  20. Very true. Mallett has also been rumored to have some anxiety issues off the field. That may be fine in college, but in the pro's when you have national media breathing down your throat, the pressure can build. I like Mallett for his skill set. Over the last two seasons that I have been watching more SEC football( I tend to be a PAC-10 guy), I've noticed his improved footwork and mobility, although he still has some difficult throwing on the run. But i have to agree, he rarely rises up to the occasion. He had chances to win big games, and he faltered. Perhaps he has learned from that, and will make strides this season.
  21. Thats not a defense, its an excuse. People love Nelson because he runs good routes and has great hands and speed for his size. He is more of a slot TE, than a guy that can chip a defender and come off the line quickly for a reception in open space. He's not prototypical, but he has a lot of potential. Again, he is another draft pick by the last staff, where they took a guy based on need instead of value. Just my opinion.
  22. 100% agree. Schobel has let this team down by threatening to retire, and his blatant refusal through his actions to embrace his new position. There is something to be said for a player who through their own actions, doesn't believe they will be successful at their new position. If Schobel sees himself having a season like Aaron Kampman did last season, then by any means trade him away today. I wouldn't look for value either, if all they can get for him is 7th 3 rolls of tape and 1 sock, I'll take it and drive Aaron to the Buffalo Airport myself.
  23. Talk about a handpicked group of statistics to make a point in an article. Im sure these are great indicators, but at the end of the day, the only determining factor is on field improvement. A player either gets it, or they dont. There is nothing more to it. If the game doesn't slow down for a QB by the middle of their second season as a starter, then it never will. Ask JP Losman.
  24. Comments like this crack me up. People act like Mike Vick walked into a room where there was a dog fight happening, and didn't leave. The guy was the ring leader. He funded it, he promoted it, and he profited off of it. The man is a terrible human being. Anyone who does the things he has done, and shows absolutely no remorse, and does even less to change his life, doesn't deserve anything from anyone. Except to be put back into prison.
