  1. I didn't realize we were writing Oliver off that quickly. Isn't he still on a rookie contract?
  2. I think he's one of the most amazing players in the history of the sport but I question whether he is a fit. I think OL investments make more sense given our scheme.
  3. We do not have the ability to control the clock the way that KC did in the second half of the SB. Some say it's the OL. Some say its the RBs. I think a strong OL is a more sustainable strategy for success. Because of this we expect too much out of Allen. He cannot be our short yardage back. The Von Miller signing sent the wrong message. Yes, I know how great Miller is. It screamed "we have all the pieces." When he went down, no one else stepped up. It's Dan Marino syndrome where everyone thinks the star will bail us out. Not a way to build a team. McD has been schooled by Zac Taylor and Andy Reid. If that doesn't light a fire under him he has to go. On D we look weak at home like some lightweight turf team. Our tackling is embarrassingly poor. A smashmouth run team can beat us easily. We're highlight reel glitz but weak on fundamentals. The Vikings game exposed us on all these counts. I don't think we recovered. Then came the shootings and Damar. Great teams rally together and overcome. We faded.
  4. We have the major pieces. Despite getting schooled at home vs Cincy I'm not ready for regime change. I felt we looked soft at times last year. I don't think the team recovered from the Damar incident mentally. I do, however, expect the team to address those issues or I will entertain change this time next year if we are in the same place.
  5. It's hard for working folks to apply logic to these stratospheric QB salaries. The money is insane until the next TV deal comes along and justifies it. If you're the Ravens you can pay your franchise QB the going rate or you can tell the fan base you'll trade him for picks and hope you land a QB in the draft who you can ride until his rookie contract runs out like Hurts and Burrow. This Ravens team is pretty shallow after Lamar. The defense is just OK. Unless they're down for a total rebuild they need Lamar more than Lamar needs the Ravens. Harbaugh has sixteen seasons in Baltimore. How many more rebuilds is he down for? If you don't sign him you have to throw out the playbook. Lamar asking for a better deal than Watson and refusing to renegotiate sound like he's trying to talk his way out of town.
  6. the Broncos are going to the playoffs!
  7. I'd prefer some defenders who can tackle in snow
  8. the fund is managed by Brett Favre as I understand it
  9. a great artist who stayed true to his ideals even if they were self indulgent. Deja Vu is a desert island album as is the debut CSN record. Popular music will never be that good again in our lifetime
  10. For all the criticism of Frazier's D, he effectively neutralized Chase, Higgins and Boyd in the divisional game. It was Hayden Hurst who inflicted the damage. If our offense could have sustained a drive we wouldn't be having this conversation. Our team feels like the greatest show on turf. Very glitzy with the ability to score 21 points a quarter yet one that can get B word slapped by a more meat and potatoes, Ground Chuck opponent. We are built to win in domes, not WNY winters. Yes, as painful as it is to admit, we suck at home. The Vikings game spoke volumes. I also feel like the rest of the team was coasting off Josh Allen and Von Miller. Any QB that runs as hard and as often as Allen will need to take games off and our Offense should be able to go into smashmouth mode when this happens. Aside from Miller, I didn't see any other defender consistently distinguish himself except Jordan Phillips. I'm not ready to throw in the towel on Clappy but he's Schottenheimer lite until we get to a Superbowl. It still feels like he's coaching not to lose in postseason play. The adversity of the Tops shooting, snowstorms and Damar Hamlin should have been rallying points. Instead they were trotted out as excuses. This is not the stuff of leaders. I hope I'm wrong. I still think McDermott is a winner but his leash is just one more season long before we text Harbaugh on Black Monday. We still have a franchise QB in his prime, an all world WR in Diggs, Miller and above average talent everywhere else. We absolutely must develop the ability to have the running backs carry the offense as needed. If we can develop a few more of the lesser known players into playmakers we'll decimate the competition. If we sit back and wait for Allen and Miller to salvage our seasons we'll be golfing in January.
  11. He had a golden life. When I read these headlines it screams self absorption. They have three kids together and more money than they can spend in a lifetime. What more do you want out of life?
  12. You can't help but wonder if the money ballers aren't calling the plays. Baltimore played themselves out of the postseason on similar decisions last year
  13. Not safe to be out that late in the defund the police era
  14. Very few of the great ones leave before it's too late: Ali and Favre to name a few. Even Peyton Manning looked terrible winning his last Superbowl
  15. This game will be over at the half
  16. The RBS stepped up and showed us something. Great teams need to know how to win ugly
  17. Those Superbowl hangovers last a long time
  18. Never liked the Jets but I respect good football players. RIP and thanks for your contributions to the sport
  19. Looks like he fell off the deep end
  20. will always respect and admire him
  21. This was very moving. Thank you for posting
  22. in a strange way, I was more emotionally invested when we were a .500 team. Watching the Bills dismantle the Titans last night was a beautiful experience but winning in dominating fashion is taking some getting used to. I vividly remember the decade of fail Bills choking away many close ones in the final minutes like the Monday Nighter vs Dallas years ago. In any close game from the Mike Mularkey to Rex Ryan era, when you got to the 4th quarter there was this sinking feeling of dread where you just knew we would choke it away. It is those kinds of feelings that are most deeply rooted for me as a Bills fan. Now we are being rewarded for our faithfulness and are the best team in the league. That's a lot of emotional upheaval from era to era but enjoying the good times is an essential part of that as well.
  23. One more pick and they should bring in the back up
