The conservatorship was the best available alternative to a sham "adoption" by an alumni for a prospect to join an NCAA program. The NCAA would not have accepted Oher's "adoption" at age 18 in any case. What I don't understand is why the conservatorship would extend past his time as a collegiate athlete.
It doesn't sound like Oher's lawyer has done his homework on the income streams stemming from the "Blind Side". He is assuming the Tuohy's wealth came from the story and film as opposed to their franchise businesses. He wants a "full accounting" of what they earned from the "Blind Side" which is an admission that he has no clue.
His lawyer sounds like a race based shakedown artist. And if Oher is dumb enough to follow his advice, he will be publicly shamed and outed as a fool.
This is beginning to remind me of Mike Tyson going to Don King's camp after Cus D'Amato died.
