  1. In-N-Out is a normal cheeseburger. That's exactly what makes it great. Simple cheeseburgers, done right, are fantastic. Some of the fast food behemoths find ways to ruin, much like they ruined shakes by making them with complicated mixes instead of real ice cream and good simple ingredients. I hate In-N-Out fries though. Five Guys fries are way better. Even McD fries are better.
  2. KC is a carnivorous town, saturated with burger and bbq joints. It doesn't need another burger chain - it already has numerous burgers options. What KC needs is more diversity. But I do love a good burger. Both In-And-Out and Five Guys do burgers right. Nothing fancy, just good fresh ingredients making for tasty, juicy burgers. If you want a truly superior burger, go to an upscale steakhouse and get something with real Kobe beef. If you want a convenient, cheap burger made from a frozen patty: go to McDonalds. In-And-Out and Five Guys admirably fill a niche in between the extremes.
  3. It's an interesting idea: get a bunch of NFL insiders to rate QBs. But this approach has limitations. For example, how much does the Giants OC really know about Allen? Or the personnel guy at the Falcons who oversees college scouting? These guys don't watch every game of every team. I'm sure everyone one of the coaches and execs polled know more about the NFL than I do. But I think most of us on this board know more about Josh Allen.
  4. I voted Singletary though nothing would surprise me. But forced to choose, I think Singletary’s off season will give him a slight edge.
  5. It sounds like a great question to ask: How many yards did the back earn on their own? But the way it is measured seems very subjective: "All yards... beyond what was blocked.... after the first evaded tackle."
  6. Wow, this is crazy. Who can predict the NFL 3 years into the future??? And Wolfe is high on Tag but does he really expect him to significantly outplay the league’s #2 MVP? Fin fans will cheer if Tua becomes almost as good as Josh. Given how quickly the NFL changes, 90% of Miami’s coaches and players 3 years from now will be different than today. Who’s to say how that works out?
  7. Michael Holley is the guy who predicts our new DEs to be busts. You know, the same Michael Holley who took three different teams to the SB as a GM. Oops... No... He's just another talking head. Don't care.
  8. My experience as a new Kansas Citian is very different. I wear my Bills gear proudly, flaunt my Bills iPhone case, and have Bills stickers on my cars. So far, this has done nothing but stirred some friendly conversations about football. The Chief fans I've run into are much like Bills fans. They're appreciative of their coach and QB, but also see the flaws in their team. They also, btw, see the Bills as a real threat to future SB runs. They know Allen is better than he appeared in the game against them.
  9. For many years, we were blessed with good running backs - and poor QBs. Oddly, we face the opposite situation now. Here's what I remember though I can't find this anywhere on Google. Terry got sick after his promising rookie year. The disease (what? can't remember) left him with poor peripheral vision. He was never the same.
  10. Sure. PFF isn't 'real' football work. While teams do subscribe to PFF, I don't think many coaches or scouts concern themselves with it very much. PFF exists to entertain. Their job is to create content that gets attention and drives sales. You can't blame them for doing their job. I do read power and player rankings from time to time but I don't really care what they say. I'm pretty confident I know the Bills better than any of the national media gurus or stat geeks. Most of us here do. I don't need them to validate my opinions.
  11. Like a plurality of folks, I voted for a slight improvement. Josh has gotten better every year and yet still has room for improvement. I'm not sure why I should believe he won't improve this season - that his trajectory will suddenly change.
  12. Great video. Many years ago, I watched "Top Gun" with a bunch of other young army lieutenants. It's hard to described how pumped up we got: different branch, different way of fighting - but we loved watching the fighter jocks. Can't do barrel rolls in a tank! McD was obviously nervous at the beginning, and I don't blame him. P.S. Thanks for your service.
  13. I voted no. There's not much of a gap between them anymore. And its been decades since we've had a successful signal caller in Buffalo. Josh is thriving here and his teammates love him. Why mess with that?
  14. A lot of folks a few years ago were saying Overdorf needed to go for the Bills to be winners again.
  15. The Cover 2 has been around for a long while so there's nothing new here. But what makes this video seriously dated, at least far as it pertains to Edmunds, is that it depicts a 4-3 defense. NFL teams infrequently line up in a 4-3 anymore. I read somewhere that NFL defenses used 3 or more LBs on only 24% of plays last season. That amazes me. I remember the old debates about the pros and cons of a 4-3 versus a 3-4. Not we're seeing only 1 or 2 LBs on the field on most plays. I'm guessing the 4-2-5 Nickel is the most common defense in the NFL right now. If I'm not mistaken, the Chiefs most common defensive alignment in the AFC Championship game against us was the 4-1-6. Edmunds is going to have different responsibilities in a 4-2-5 than a 4-3.
  16. I forgot the mention the Frank Lloyd Wright Graycliff House in Darby, maybe 30 minutes from Buffalo. I've personally never been but the photos are tremendous. And it's open to the public. I'll make sure to visit on my next trip to the area. I really wanted to stay at the Henry Hotel my next time in Buffalo but I heard it closed during the pandemic. Sad news. The Henry Hotel was located in the Richardson Olmstead Campus which is the new, pleasant name for the old Buffalo State Asylum for the Insane. I remember driving by it when I was a student at UB before I transferred out of state. It was my favorite building in Buffalo (that and the Central Terminal which I once snuck inside). The Henry Hotel took over part of the place and won numerous accolades for "adaptive reuse" - the fancy expression architects use to describe the renovating and repurposing of historic buildings.
  17. I love Wade's attitude and it's a great story. But when you look at our RB room, I don't see how he makes the 53.
  18. I don't want to beat up Trapasso too much because I also see Rousseau as a long-term project. But I think its odd he's so critical of Rousseau's game tape and says Rousseau didn't win one-on-one battles. Trapasso never explains how Rousseau was so damned productive if he was so poorly skilled. It seems to me Trapasso clearly saw Roussea's shortcomings but is blind to his strengths. I knew next to nothing about Rousseau when we picked him so I quickly got on Youtube and watched some highlights. What I saw was a raw, tall, gangly kid. But I also saw a young player who was clearly more athletic than the guys trying to block him. Roussea earned his sacks & pressures every way possible: by speed, by power, by persistence. I thought Rousseau's unpolished skill set was understandable given his youth and newness to the position. In 2017, he was a high school safety and WR. In 2019, he was terrorizing college QBs playing on the defensive line. His rawness didn't bother me at all under the circumstances. What did bother me was Rousseau's disappointing pro day numbers. Normally, I'd expect a 1st rounder to excel both on the playing and the practice field. I'm not sure Rousseau possesses - right now - the strength and agility to excel in the NFL. But he's just 21 and took a year off for Covid so its hard to tell how much stronger and better he can become. In the end, I agree with what others have said: I trust Beane and our scouts more than I trust Trapasso. And I can't imagine McD not giving Rousseau reps in the rotation.
  19. Both were great. Marino had a quicker release and was a little more accurate. Jimbo was tougher and more fiery.
  20. USCGBILLSFAN, I forgot to mention that Buffalo boasts a lot of beautiful, old - sometimes decaying - architecture. 100+ years ago, Buffalo was the 8th biggest city in the U.S. and one of the richest. The Erie Canal made it the hub of inland shipping. In fact, it was the biggest grain port in the world for decades. It was a huge rail nexus as well. Pierce Arrow was building some of the best and most expensive cars in Buffalo. And the Westinghouse power plant on the Niagara made Buffalo the first electrified city in the world. In turn, that made Buffalo the Silicon Valley of its time - a place where inventors and innovators came to experiment with - and get rich on - electricity. All that money meant a lot of cool buildings were built, including Frank Lloyd Wright's Martin House that you can visit. A section of Delaware Ave is rightly called "Millionaires Row." City Hall is almost worth a tour even if it's in a sad state of disrepair. Then there's the Hotel Lafayette, Richardson Olmstead Campus, Central Train Terminal, Statler, Saint Paul's, Botanical Gardens, Ellicott Square Building, and so on.
  21. I grew up in the Buffalo suburbs but haven't lived there since I was maybe 20. But I do visit from time to time. So here are some thoughts from someone who is kind of a local and kind of an outsider: Don't be afraid to drive. Buffalo is a small city as American metro areas go and the traffic congestion is nothing like LA. There's no burb of Buffalo that's out of reach no matter where you stay. Wings. This didn't use to be true but you can now get good wings in lots of cities. So I would go to the Anchor Bar, despite it not being the best wing joint in Buffalo, just to see the birthplace of the wing. I do agree that Duff's and some other places are better than the Anchor Bar. But they're not necessarily better than the best wing spots in other metro areas. Pizza. I read an article by a pizza connoisseur who raved about Buffalo pizza. It is indeed very good and for a very good reason. Buffalo has far, far more pizzerias per capita than Chicago or NYC. In fact, depending what list you look at, either Buffalo or Orlando (?!?!) have the most pizzerias per capita in America. And interestingly, most pizza places in Buffalo are mom-and-pop places - the national chains don't tend to fare very well because their product doesn't meet Buffalo's high standards. The pie competition in Buffalo is fierce and brings out the best in the local pizza chefs. Beef on Weck. Charlie the Butcher is my go-to spot. NYC celebrity chef, Geoffrey Zakarian, loves the place. So do I. Sponge Candy. I visit Parkside Candy's Main Street location nearly every time I'm in Buffalo. The chocolates and sponge candy are good and the store is housed in a dilapidated architectural treasure. Niagara Falls. Visit both the American and Canadian sides. On the American side, you can walk out onto Goat Island, Luna Island, and the Three Sisters and get up close to the rapids and falls. On the Canadian side, you get a better panoramic view of the three falls that make up Niagara: Horseshow, American and Bridal Veil. The Maid of the Mist boat ride is worth the price and will take you to the middle of the Horseshow Falls. Btw, I have to disagree about Mighty Taco. Mighty Taco used to serve awesome tacos and burritos in filthy little holes in the wall. Then they went all Taco Bell and starting building typical fast food style restaurants with cheaper, crappier versions of the delicious stuff they used to sell. I'm so disappointed in what Mighty has become that I will never visit them again. Also worth knowing, there's a Bills souvenir store in front of the stadium. Sometimes I find things there I don't see online and didn't know I needed until I saw them there. Enjoy your visit. Hope the Bills give you a victory to celebrate!
  22. Bojo had a 44 net last year. Haack netted 39.8. Say whatever you want about placement, Haack doesn't seem like an upgrade to me. Really hope I'm wrong.
  23. The opener doesn't matter much to me. But a Bills-Bucs Super Bowl would be awesome!
