If I'm Marrone, I am taking a fine this week when talking about refs to counteract the make up calls the *Pats will be getting next week.

The best Fitz impression would have been throwing the pick 6 in the 4th quarter, not early in the 2nd. Unlike when Fitz was a Bill or when Manuel was playing, I actually had hope and optimism we could still win the game during the 4th quarter, whatever that's worth...

He's not our starting QB.

A couple of things: 1. I don't believe we are that aggressive with Manuel in at QB, so kudos to Marrone for trying to win the game. 2. On the out to Chandler (I think), I believe Orton saw there was no way to get OB, so he intentionally overthrew it. This was a great win that I don't think we pull off in any of the past 10 seasons. Orton wasn't perfect, but he got the W, something I don't think EJ would have done. First place, baby!

I think this team has an opportunity to win now if they get adequate play from the QB position. That Houston game was winnable and EJ dropped the ball. Argue all you want about game plan, but we had guys running wide open all day and Manuel missed them. I don't know what we are getting with Orton, but I think with the AFC east truly up for grabs, the move had to be made for the team. As I mentioned elsewhere, EJ looks way too stiff and is historically inaccurate. Those are very hard to coach out of a player. Too bad. I was rooting for the kid.

Exactly. One huge problem is that the "experts" see something like a few missed throws at a Pro Day and report it ad nauseum, causing GM's to ignore scores of game tape and get gun shy on draft day. Unbelievable.

If we win the division, we did earn it, regardless of record.

The issue is accuracy. It is a very difficult thing to teach and EJ misses way too many throws, especially to wide open receivers. He looks so unnatural in the pocket....almost stiff...I don't know that EJ will ever get to the degree of accuracy needed to achieve success in the NFL.

Unbelievable. Even my wife, who knows nothing about football, commented on how inaccurate EJ looked. The talent is there, we need someone to get our studs the ball. EJ isn't the guy. Period.

I think whatever coaches decided they could "coach EJ up" should be gone. He looks terrible on wide open throws, which cannot happen at any level, let alone the NFL.

Can you say conspiracy? Nice little plan hatched by ESPN and Simmons. This whole thing is too contrived, right down to suspending him a week longer than Ray Rice's suspension. It's perfect for that whiny B word Simmons, he doesn't miss any NBA and doesn't have to write about football.

SD is proving to be an elite NFL team and, with some offensive production, we had a chance to beat them. This would have been a 30 pt blow out in the Gailey / Wannstache era.
