  1. Do Bills off season moves - such as possible free agent acquisitions and draft status - excite you more than actual games played in November and December.
  2. He was selected in the first round (24th overall) of the 2005 draft I just looked a that draft again. Ryan Fitzpatrick was #250 out of 255. You should never, ever draft a QB from Harvard.
  3. I have never understood this logic. Player X should be discounted because he went to school Y. I can't think of a position with more misses than QB. OK, you're right. The list is lackluster. But to discount MB because he went to USC seems short sighted. Tell me he has poor pocket presence, a weak arm, runs at glacial speed, is myopic, whatever, and I'm listening. What schools HAVE produced HOF QBs on a consistent basis?
  4. Wow. Just read all 20+ pages. I don't know a lot about him. But after reading all this, the guy's career is eerily similiar to Tom Coughlin's.
  5. I remember Henry's Hamburgers!! As a young kid my dad took me to HH as a reward for a good report card. My dad, a long time Bills fan, recognized Ernie and introduced me to him. When I explained that I was there because of my report card, that gentle giant of a man reached across the counter and shook my hand. It was like shaking hands with a guy wearing a baseball mitt. I still remember staring at those huge hands, as he shook mine. That 'event' probably never registered as a anything special to Ernie, but all these years later, it is still a big deal to me. And if I had to say, it's why in those formative years I became a Bills fan.
  6. What is so frustrating about this season is that I loved all the offseason moves. Signing of Mario, bringing in a QB coach to improve Fitz's mechanics, move Wanny to DC, draft a solid CB, and bonus, a solid LT in the second round, we signed FredEx to a short extension. Had we not done any of these things I would have complained bitterly about the same old Bills. Nix did exactly what I hoped he would do. But seemingly every move has turned to rust. Mario is a huge disappointment, Fitz still can't hit an open receiver while moving his feet, Wanny has lost his mojo, the CB- who looked so good in the preseason seems - disinterested on the field, and the LT is hurt. This team is in a holding pattern until we get new ownership. Nix said at the hiring of Chan that lots of candidates called about the job. I don't believe that at all. There may only be 32 NFL teams on the planet, but no one, and I mean no one in their right mind would come here now. Yes, the entire organization needs to be blown up. But doing so prior to new ownership seems pointless. I feel bad for us fans. And I feel bad for Nix, who many of us congratulated after making some pretty good moves. This team IS cursed.
  7. I hate when any athlete or public figure screws up and in the middle of a fake apology says, "I just want to put this incident behind me and move forward with my life." In other words, "Sorry I caused others so much pain and grief, but don't EVER ask me about this again, 'cuz I just want to move on."
  8. I agree with the over all premise. But it DOES tend to get rather windy in Orchard Park in late November and December. We still will need a kick coverage team when he kicks into the wind.
  9. That works on so many levels (with or without the spacing).
  10. " Why don't you give back some of that ******* money you ain't earned yet." Eric Wood
  11. I had serious doubts about Fairley when I heard him interviewed just prior to the draft on Sirius' "Moving the Chains". He seemed totally distracted during the interview (strike one) and when was asked how much weight he was pushing in the weight room he said didn't know (strike two). You ask anybody who is serious in the weight room how much they are lifting and they can tell you. They are always looking to better their mark. To me, not knowing is not caring (strike three). I wanted nothing to do with him after that. I think jboys got it right.
  12. On a team that now utilizes DTs, not NTs.
  13. I dunno..... If the guy can routinely kick off out of the end-zone, then the other guy has to consistently travel 80 yards to score a TD. With our (expected) new and improved defense, I like our chances. That means a lot less wear and tear on the ST. Would you feel better if it was the 7th CB or 8th WR who consistently makes a play pinning them at the 20? I would make a roster spot for a guy, any guy, who time after time makes a play pinning the other guy at the 20. If that guy happens to be my 2nd kicker... I'm OK with that.
  14. Pick me, Pick me. I am a high motor guy. Actually, it's a diesel with relatively low miles. (Why do they want to know about my motor?) Actually, the motor is good but the body is shot. I have all the tools. Mostly Black and Deckers, but a few Ryobis. I run like a Deere. OK, that is my lawnmower... but still. My arms are a bit on the short side, think T-Rex type. But I've got quick hips - and even looser vowels. I play faster then the sundial would indicate. I have all the intangibles and most of the unmeasurables. (But if you can't measure it, .... Hey, I actually may have all the unmeasureables!! --- I'm shooting up draft boards.) I am a big, wide body who thrives at clogging up the middle. That is, if you mean septic systems. Yup I am full of it....
  15. But, then poor Bob Kraft would have to pay all that money to a top ten pick, while giving up the opportunity to pay two lesser valued players. After all team chemistry is VERY important to Bob. No, we shouldn't subject Bob to that.
  16. Unless it was the regular season then it would be 3 MONTHS... Ow, I hurt my wrist typing this.
  17. +1 Brilliant! That explains the looks I get when in the course of conversation I admit to being a Bills fan. I can't wait for the draft. You know that (now) three day period where we draft a player who played at one position, but we "project" him to play (at a higher level) at a totally different position. < sigh> I hate that I love this team.
  18. Apologies if this was posted earlier. Interesting reading from Peter King on why Bledsoe was let go. See #3. I always thought he was brain dead, but he was stubborn too?? Not a good combination. An example of how the game has evolved. A cannon for an arm, but not only slow, couldn't slide step to avoid the rush. I doubt he's draft-able in today's game. My link Not trying to spoil the moment....., but now we know the reasoning from a bit of Bills history.
  19. Dammit!! I wish a bell or buzzer would go off on everybody's computer or smartphone every time somebody clicks on that. I'd just snicker ever time I heard it go off.
  20. When you can share the passion with the next generation..... That is beautiful. Thumbs up to the Mrs. for realizing the moment.
  21. Oddly mine too. Oh and McFadden was my second pick. Now I can enjoy the season. Go Bills!
  22. I never feel good about anybody getting hurt. But I cant help but wonder if KC's fans will complain bitterly about the Lion's mascot going for the knees of JC. Stevie, rest easy. It was not your fault.
  23. I went to a couple of practices. I saw a really bad O-line, Jasper looked like a monster, and an offense that looked to be incapable of moving the ball - let alone scoring points. I am at least 0 for 3. The O-line looks pretty decent. Jasper has been switched to offense, and the offense today went 5 for 5 scoring TDs in the second half. Did anyone see this coming?
