  1. Shortened for space. I see this quite a bit; Lumping Case, Bridgerwater and Foles together. Case and Bridgerwater are UFA and will cost nothing in terms of draft capital. Expensive in terms of the cap however. Case had a great year on a VERY good team. Bridgewater hasn't played since God knows when. He's a risk. Foles is under contract. Great year for him. But rumor has it Eagles want a 1st and 4th for him. Is his production repeatable? Not sure. And how much more in draft capital are we from using said 1st and 4th to move up and get our guy? Another 1st, maybe a 2nd? I don't need a generational talent. By definition that comes around every 20 years. I need a consistant top 5-10 guy that makes every player around him better. We're in a perfect storm. There are a lot of QBs available in FA, some of whom will cause teams to lessen their demand for a QB. This draft year there is an unusually large supply of quality QBs available in the draft. Finally, we have the draft capital to move up without it being a "Full Ditka". Even with a trade using draft capital, some quality picks will remain to address other needs. What better place than here What better time than now.
  2. When I think about Sammy I keep coming back to this phrase: The MYTH of Sammy Watkins. That's just it. You THINK with all this talent you're getting a receiver who has performed at a high level. Think 1,000+ yards, 90+ receptions and 10-15 TDS. But what is the reality. 39 receptions for 593 yards last year. With Buffalo it was, if he only had a better QB. Or if only the OC would use him right. Or even, if only he wasn't injured. He was traded to a high octane offense in the Rams and lo and behold - he had a better QB, he wasn't injured. What did he do. Not much. Someone will overpay for the myth. They'll be disappointed too.
  3. Was about to post the same quote. If you want to 'mess' with the NFL traditionalism - where Buffalo is a afterthought, despite its passionate fan base, then come on in. Our passion is so hot we light fires to tables and then put the fire out with our bodies -- phoenix like!
  4. This ranking will change after the combine an pro days. It's February, we need a QB so this is what we do. In the WGR piece Mayock said that Allen may have the highest floor. He said Allen has prototypical size, and his big arm will make GMs fall in love with him. He does everything well, but doesn't do any one thing great. Each one of the top 6 - 8 QB in this class has concerns. Whether it's turnovers, completion percentage, previous injuries, size, character concerns, offensive system , etc, etc. But they are all legitimate first round grades. I've talked myself in and out of each of these guys. Will we trade up for a top 2 guy? (whoever that is) or sit tight and see who falls to us at 21? I cannot wait for the draft.
  5. I hate to say it, NYC is pretty cool. If i was young, and had cash... yeah....
  6. This has been coming up a lot recently. I know people keep citing how well it worked out with Washington. But that's the exception. The Current CBA (which I think came after the Washington example) limits practice time during the offseason. There just are not enough footballs in training camp to go around. If we're going with a bridge QB, that limits a rookies time even more. I'm not sure you wind up developing either guy. I get the idea. But pick one, and do it right. Otherwise it's a wasted pick. EDIT: Upon further review: the CBA was ratified in 2011, and RGIII was drafted in 2012.
  7. I don't know if this is true, but holy smokes I hope it is. Did I read somewhere that Jimmy Graham is a free agent? Gronk is a better blocker, but Jimmy would allow the Pats* to reload.
  8. As far as I know he had a single drinking incident last offseason. Unheard of from a college kid (turning off sarcasm font). I like his competitiveness. With his high completion percentage and his reputation for film study he's my early favorite. I'll wait for the combine and his pro day to make a final decision. But right now, I'd easily trade both #1s to move into the top 5 for him.
  9. If he's being interviewed by a Bills media source, what is he supposed to say? I never thought Drew was all that smart, but he's savvy enough to respond to that softball question.
  10. Of all the former Bills players in this game, I am most happy Gilmore doesn't get a ring. I hate the Pats* and F^ck that guy!
  11. Remember when musicians/bands just played music. Now it's dance and special effects. Not a fan of the new stuff.
  12. If I am Colts, trading Luck could be in my best interest. They have a new coach coming in - who presumably is familiar with Brisset. So there is a comfort factor for the new coach. They can still draft a qb third overall and groom him accordingly. The additional incoming multiple picks and players acquired (Glenn for example) are immediate upgrades at different positions. Taking Luck's cap hit off the books also leaves money to be active in free agency. While Brisset might be the opening day starter, they would have conceivably upgraded multiple starter positions while still having their QB of the future. If I am a Colts fan, that's a lot of positive change for my team during the offseason. I'd be very excited about the future: New coach, new QB to pin my hopes on, upgraded roster through the draft and free agency. So as a franchise, the trading of Luck is an easy sell to the fan base.
  13. Colts have the 3rd pick. It's conceivable they could use that pick on a cost controlled QB, and then use extra high picks garnered in a Luck trade to build around that QB. I'm not saying it's likely, but I can see the logic in it.
  14. Hello Jags fans. We've seen this before. Your team plays great for 58 minutes. Then Brady kicks you in the nuts.
  15. Yup. the story line will be "Pats*win #6 or Vikes will the Vikes break the 0 for 4 SB trend."
  16. Is it too much to hope a giant sink hole opens up and swallows both teams. I can't stand the Pats* and would feel bit sick if Marone made it to the SB.
