jeez. mckelvin isnt on his way to the HOF, but he's solid. most CBs throughout the league arent expected to cover for 5-6 seconds which is what happens with a pathetic pass rush. dont let his special teams mistakes cloud your judgement on his CB skills. again, hes not an all star by any means, but i dont see why hes the target of all this criticism. i agree with the consensus that the higher a player is picked, the higher the expectations become, but i wouldnt call him a bust. INTs dont gauge a DBs skills that well. asomugah and other elite corners typically have unimpressive stats bc they arent thrown on often. i know mckelvin isnt an elite corner, but stats usually dont tell the whole story. poz had a million tackles, but thats due to the defense's inability to get off the field. fitz gets an INT on his stat sheet last night bc easley dropped a ball. i could go on...

i DONT want to see much of levi brown... i would like to see brad smith and/or nesbitt drop back and throw so defenses dont automatically assume its a run when one of them are lined up as qb

since my buddies and i are raging alcoholics with no regard for anyone else, we prefer the sitting in the rockpile with all the other raging alcoholics.

Levitre demoted / Levitre promoted
uncle flap replied to Justice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i agree with those of you who've speculated gailey is using this demotion as a motivational tool. --- i just erased a long post brainstorming who should be starting where - i'll save you guys the trouble of my meandering stream of consciousness and just highlight the main points: 1. i cant believe hangartner isnt able to earn a spot as guard. if the only position he can play is center, switch wood back to G. yeah, hangartner isnt that good but hes better than everyone else save levitre and wood (and bell most of the time). 2. pears and urbik suck 3. dear rinehart and hairston, WE NEED YOU! get it together 4. dear buddy nix, sign stinchcomb or some other obvious upgrade 4b. if you think our oline stinks now, wait til someone gets hurt... buddy, we need some more big bodies!!!! sign somebody!!!!! -
hahahaha im mad that i never saw that before thanks dude!

i'm sure the guy wasn't trying to cause you so much anguish so here's a "translation:" "I assume that those of you who were able to watch the game reside in Buffalo, where it was shown on a local network. For that, you are lucky. I am jealous because I live in Queens, where the preseason Bills games are not televised on local networks. Initially, I was dismayed to learn that the Bills lost, but after reviewing the highlights online, I predict the defense will be much improved this year. One thing we can all agree on is our devotion to the Buffalo Bills, so let's hear it for our team!"

hey, has it crossed any of your minds that this story is a a PR move? I mean the first place I saw that Evans requested a trade was Chris Brown's blog. NEWSFLASH - he is employed by the Buffalo Bills. while i think he is indeed a decent journalist, there are moments here and there where it seems obvious he is using terminology and/or ideas pushed on him by the front office. im not saying lee definitely did NOT ask for a trade, but it seems a little suspicious to me that chris brown would break that tidbit after he was in fact traded. to me, it is just a way for the organization to further rationalize an unpopular move. yes, it makes some sense considering the number of WRs on the roster, the fact they would likely not re-sign lee and lose him for nothing otherwise, and once the bills turn the corner lee won't be an impact player, etc. i just think for all of US lee evans fans, it makes his departure a little easier to swallow when we are under the impression that he was ready to move on.

you guys are a$$holes... if you cant figure out what dude from queens was writing, that says more about you than it says about him. same goes for the urge to comment negatively. you dumb schmucks constantly use poor grammar and terrible spelling while trying to sound like hot shot know-it-alls. it must be contagious because i've never seen "dominate" used when "dominant" is the appropriate word except on this board. and i see it all the time. oh yeah, it's D-E-F-I-N-I-T-E-L-Y, not definatley or defanitely or whatever else you dummies come up with. whether or not someone is capable of using perfect grammar, spelling, and/or syntax has no bearing on sharing his or her opinion on a message board. save your thinly veiled racism/ageism/elitism for P&P where you are in the company of other wackos. phew, now i feel better ps i agree aaron williams will have a solid career

his nickname has been "big shadow mike" since college.

what else would you say when he makes a play for a safety?

i wouldnt call this a prediction as much as a strong possibility: fitz sucks on the two drives. then thigpen tears it up and all of a sudden TBD explodes and there's an internet QB controversy. ditto for johnny white. he'll make a few impressive plays and all of a sudden beersphere will be closing all the threads about spiller being a wasted pick and how teams can find a running back off the street blah blah blah... ________________________________________________________________________________ remember, it's the preseason. the FIRST preseason game to boot. there is really not much to take away from whatever we see here. teams do not want to give away the intricacies of their schemes before the regular season starts, and the primary goal is to evaluate the players whom have not had a lot (or any) experience against full speed opposition. i predict guarantee i will have a good time boozing and arguing with my friends about any and all things BILLS while the game is on. and i really really hope our starting D looks improved

that was actually my second choice, after "punt catcher," but neither of those fit i just found this on another thread: Number 21s: Bobby Burnett (Rookie of Year 1966) Tom Flores Art Whittington Chris Watson (Punt Catcher) Don Wilson http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/114255-who-are-some-famous-7s-and-21s/

true, but at the time i was super excited about spiller perhaps being our savior, and yeah i realize he never wore that jersey... i was hoping since the response was so positive for the white AFL kits that we'd eventually see more of them. and i was kind of right, i mean look at the new white jerseys, theyre almost identical. now those are some solid suggestions! thanks to those of you who voted/commented - keep em coming haha i had a mcgahee jersey but i traded it for a bar tab at cole's... they used it as a dishrag lol

I have an authentic white AFL throwback Spiller jersey with #21. What do you guys think I should do? I'm leaning towards getting McKelvin's name added since he is now #21. But is there another former Bill who wore #21 that would be better? I like McKelvin, but not so much that I would've bought his jersey, so I wanted to get some other opinions on what I should do. Or I would consider putting something else (funny) on the nameplate, but I'm not the type to put my own name on a jersey. With this BillsMafia movement maybe i would put something along those lines... I really don't know... help a fan out Let me know what you guys think - thanks!

yes, OP, amherst, clarence are nice. if you have the money to live there i would suggest living in one of the nicer areas WITHIN the city limits. anywhere around delaware park is nice and you get a lot of bang for your buck. same goes for allentown. and i dont mean the fixer-uppers that yippies and hipsters are moving into (although in a few years we will all be grateful for them). park, irving, oakland, and richmond have beautiful homes that are as nice as any of those in the suburbs. there are plenty of streets around the elmwood village that are well very reasonably priced, and you would be living in the most vibrant neighborhood in the area. i know there are many parts of buffalo that look like beirut. but the more people move back into the city itself and cease the sprawl that has seemingly doomed urban development, the less of these eyesores there will be. also, beware of rampant racism and redneck chicanery in the suburbs, unless you're into that sort of thing. even within the city limits there is quite a bit of neighborhood segregation. but some of the neighborhoods and areas i've mentioned have a nice mix of ethnicity and culture. buffalo is becoming more and more international, as we welcome african and east asian refugees. these refugees are happy to be here and are working hard to better the neighborhoods where they reside - particularly the lower west side and the northern fringes of downtown. lastly, although i feel you need to visit to fully appreciate the atmosphere, this is a neat video showcasing some local highlights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNYue0Os55A

he's been tweeting steadily about how excited he is to get going, etc. i would imagine he'll be signed in short order, and this is not a prelude to an extended holdout. it's only been a few days, let's step away from the panic button.

So the consensus is "no?" In regards to the question, "will we see more gadget plays now that we have brad smith et al?" I have to disagree, only bc why on earth would we sign brad smith otherwise? And then nesbitt is even more of a head scratcher. They can't seriously expect him to compete for a qb spot unless it involves running the option. Again, I don't mean the primary offense will revolve around nontraditional formations, but I have to believe chan has something up his sleeve. And that something better show up more than 3 times each game. Otherwise, as buddy put it, signing b smith "retards the guys you got." the guys we got being Easley Nelson jones. Not to mention scoe lee and sj13 are still on roster too
-
I recall smith getting the better of the bills while he was on jets running qb sweeps and draws
-
So the bills have quite a few players tailor made for exploiting mismatches in wildcat/gadget plays. I'm talking newly acquired brad smith, josh nesbitt, and even the pretty darn mobile tyler thigpen. Considering these guys, plus spiller, fjax, and scoe, do any of yall think we will see a ton of chan's creativity on display? I'm imagining college style QB option plays, phin's style wildcat, and hopefully some unique formations (like variations on the pistol). Also, with the new rules in place this year regarding the dressing of 3 QBs, doesn't that basically allow for brad smith to be an extra game day player? I'd love to see the bills take the league by storm (plus ESPN headlines) about their innovative offense. Naysayers - I'm NOT talking about exclusively running the "wildbill," but certainly the prospect of gimmicky plays is sure to keep the opposition's defensive coordinators on their heels, right?

Why signing Nnamdi was a bad idea
