  1. I watched the first quarter over again just watching our RT Pennington vs. LDE Shaun Ellis. I classified what happened as follows: Never Seemed To Have a Defender Opposite Him----------1 Time Gave Ellis a Love Tap, But Ellis Didn’t Make Tackle---------1 1 On 1 With Ellis, Held Ellis Up Enough------------------------8 Took Ellis And a LB Out Of Play--------------------------------4 **** Had Help With Ellis----------------------------------------------2 Ellis Made The Tackle-------------------------------------------1 False Starts/Penalties On---------------------------------------0 ****When Pennington took 2 players out, amazing things happened. On one play, Pennington pushed Ellis into the other DE. On McGahee’s 57-yard touchdown, Pennington got Ellis, then took out a Linebacker. On Parrish’s longest run, he took 2 players out of the play. I’m impressed with who we have at RT right now. (Will start another thread where I’m less kind to Kelsay on D)
  2. My students, Jacob and Zach, forced me to write this: Tom Brady rules.
  3. A couple of other things: Justin Miller is a great kick returner. It will be a battle between McGee and him for the Pro Bowl nod. If you want a left tackle, you don't draft him in the first round. It's a crepe-shoot. Just regroove a tight end. Next week better sell out in response to this club's effort. I for one am looking to go.
  4. Gotta wear the Bills tie tomorow. Possibly shirt and pants, as well.
  5. And I believe they had no motion penalties.
  6. Vote Now, while you're thinking of it! http://www.nfl.com/probowl/ballot/vote
  7. Agree on all points. My defensive all stars would be: L. Fletcher-Baker 8-1 --Why isn't this guy a perennial Pro Bowler? A. Schobel 6-3 and 3 sacks. Hawaii? Fine, Thank You. N. Clements 5-0 and 1 INT. He's showing the youngsters back there how to play. K. Ellison 5-3 and some tough hitting at the end!!! J. Leonhard 5-1 Filled in nicely today.
  8. You also have to give credit to an emerging O-Line. How much am I bid for a "YOU GOT A BRICK; WE GOT PETERS!" T-shirt? LOL
  9. The score was Bills up by 18 points, and all the commentators talked about was how disappointing the Jets were--not a word about how the Bills are finding themselves, getting an O-Line, having Pro-Bowl worthy guys like London and Schobel--wow.
  10. No, the Jets had a bad game, and they are one dominating DE away from the super bowl, and they were so pumped up from last week that they were flat this week, according to the announcers.
  11. He tackled him. Schobel was relentless. DaBrick is one block.
  12. Great post, Nanker! Your Best lines: --Sperm Edwards. He's a Hip-Hop version of Rich Kotite -- please contact Gloria Aldred and have her contact my attorney and maybe we could have sushi together on neutral turf. Anyway, this is a measuring stick game for sure. We lost last game on the Justin Miller special teams play. That has been stuck in their craw since then. They'll show up today.
  13. I'd rather use draft picks on DT, DE, and WR than Offensive line. Here are 2 Free Agents I would want: Source Leonard Davis UFA Arizona Cardinals "Davis is a massive tackle that the Cardinals can’t afford to lose to free agency, but it seems likely that they will." Max Starks RFA Pittsburgh Steelers "Starks is a starting tackle for a Super Bowl champion. That’s enough in itself to get some teams a little excited about the prospects of acquiring him. The fact that Starks is young, talented, and massive in stature—listed at 6’8”, 337 lbs.—just adds to the excitement pile. Another lineman that shouldn’t be going anywhere as the Steelers will not let Starks go without a fight." Starks won't be going anywhere, and Davis will command a high price. Gandy is also a UFA, and we'd have to think about how to spend our money.
  14. I'm not seeing much on the 2007 Free Agent list. Ahman Green, UFA, Green Bay Packers Injuries and protecting the ball have been Green’s Achilles’ heel. Michael Turner, RFA, San Diego Chargers He gets a handful of carries behind Ladainian Tomlinson and has maximized those carries, averaging six yards per carry in his short career. Chris Brown, UFA, Tennessee Titans Ladell Betts UFA Washington Redskins In filling in for an injured Clinton Portis at times this season, Betts has shown flashes of solid talent. Other Free Agent Running Backs Correll Buckhalter, UFA, Philadelphia Eagles Najeh Davenport, UFA, Pittsburgh Steelers Nick Goings, UFA, Carolina Panthers Maurice Hicks, RFA, San Francisco 49ers Patrick Pass, UFA, New England Patriots Artose Pinner, RFA, Detroit Lions B.J. Sams, RFA, Baltimore Ravens Marcel Shipp, UFA, Arizona Cardinals Antowain Smith, UFA, Houston Texans
  15. How about RB DeShawn Wynn? He's the Florida guy who weighs 238 but runs a 4.5? He'll be sailing up the boards, but would probably be there in RD2.
  16. ----Quinn Pitcock SR DT Ohio St. The Buckeye's next top draft pick who can play both the run and pass. ----Quentin Moses SR DE Georgia Athletic and speedy edge pass rusher who could go very high in April. ----Paul Posluszny SR OLB Penn St. One of the best ever from "Linebacker U" which is saying something. or Blaylock.
  17. I think the injuries to our LB, plus London's age, will have us looking LB in the 1st or 2nd Round. Good News is, we'll be picking around 7th.
  18. Quinn Pitcock (no, that's his real name) is one of the fastest DT's. You can watch him in the BCS Championship. He plays for THE Ohio State University. He's playing right at 300 lbs, and is the #1 DT on most boards.
  19. Glen, Thanks for what you're doing. As for help with the cost, I'm in, too. Astro
  20. Two excellent points. This isn't war, it's a community of people who have rights and responsibilities. The right to enjoy the game, and the responsibility to the community that they get to enjoy the game.
  21. I'm sure you meant top 10-15 in the NFL. My Top 5 DE's in the NFL: 1. Michael Strahan - more career sacks than any other active player and is ninth in league history in them. 2. Jevon Kearse - only the third player ever to record double digit sacks in his first three seasons, has the second most in the league since 1999 behind Michael Strahan. 3. Julius Peppers - The 6'7" 283lb Peppers uses his size to maximum advantage. 4. Jason Taylor - agile and powerful. He's not only a great pass rusher but is also very good defending against the run. 5. John Abraham - Why did NYJ let him leave? Very good with the Falcons.
