At first it looked all but a done deal & all we had to do was say By By Byrd- y when his new team shoveled the money in front of him . It started with the hype of the Browns & Pettine which i thought was legit , then the Dolphins & Bucs & St Louis . But to this point it looks like at least a couple of them are out of the Byrd stakes . The Dolphins have with drawn they signed the guy from Detroit , the Browns have signed Donte to a home coming & are talking about bringing in Revis which along with Haden already back there will be really good secondary almost second to none in Pettines scheme .. St Louis could still be in there along with the Bucs but as it has been said the Bills are still in the hunt & by not using the F Tag i think seeing as Byrds options are slowly but surely dwindling the longer it takes him to find the highest bidder the more likely he could stay a Bill . Then with all the other FA's coming around & the talk of the Bills needing another DE in Schwartz scheme i was thinking how much i like pepper & a little more Peppers on our D could really spice things up if you know what i'm saying as long as it wouldn't cost to much . Well once again it could very well prove just how much this fan doesn't know about the inner workings of the NFL & It's FA stuff . I ain't afraid to say when i spoke out of line & i think i just may have done that , this is all part of the new me nicer less brash & more considerate !! Well i can try can't I ??

It may be alright to bring him in for a look but i am more interested to see what the kid from Arkansas that was pulled up at the end of last year has to offer . We already know this guys history & at one time i was high on him but he hasn't showed a lot since entering the NFL . I like the stable of backs that we have but it can never hurt to look ! I just wish we would use our FB Summers more like they did when Sam Gash was here what a great FB ! What is the kids name from AR. ??

The only knock i can see is he is only 6' 3" tall so in my eyes if he is that fast then put him out wide . We need a BIG TE like Chandler 6' 7" tall or at least 6' 4" tall so he can be a more viable threat in the red zone . We have enough 6' 2 or 3" guys we need size at WR & TE !! Unless he plays like Boldin does a 6' 3" guy that plays big as Whaley says !!

I'm not talking stars I'm saying above average players that can contribute to make the team better such as Rhinehardt & it wouldn't take much digging to find others in Rhinehardt's mold that helped the Bills be better that they just let walk with out trying to keep or get any thing for the player . If you want to talk stars that had moved on from B/Lo, Nate Clemens, Sam Adams, Ted Washington, Jason Peters, Poz, Antione Winfield, Pat Williams, Marshawn Lynch, Jabari Greer, these players alone would have put us in the play offs ! Heck even little Donte Whitner, has had a really good career maybe not star status but very productive . We keep letting these types of players walk we will be tied to the basement of the AFC east for ever & eventually the team will be gone because the fans will get sick of it !!

Why can't the Bills have this kind of foresight to see when a player truly helps a team be better go out & keep the player or players that do just that ? Why can't they start their negotiations on contract extensions a year or more before the players contract is up in order to keep the good players around ? Such as in the Byrd, Levetrie, Greer, Poz, & others situations . There will be more of these type of defections in the near future for the Bills too as long as they are not aggressive in trying to keep the guys we have . The article below shows what happens to a team when it sees a guy that helps & they keep him dispute a injury , & this guy could have still been in a Bills uni & we wouldn't have had the trouble with our O line as we did last season , BUT NOOOOO !! If they don't cut him before the deadline it will be another dumb A** move in a long line of dumb A** moves that this Bills front office has a sure fire tendency to do … And they wonder why the Bills get no respect !!

Once we get rid of all the dead money from these ignorant contract signings & hopefully they won't do any other stupid things like get rid of Lawson so we have more dead money to add to what is already there we should be able to have more to spend to keep the good players we have on the roster ... Plus if they get rid of Kold, Pears & a couple of other before the the start of the official season we should have even more cap space to extend our core players ...

I believe it was in good faith & gesture that the Bills didn't tag him in hopes it wouldn't tick him off & they could have a chance at resigning him . But given the money that they resigned Williams at & given the FA running around i personally don't see it happening but it could ! I believe that that could have been some of the reason why they didn't tag Byrd . I think Whaley may have had a good long talk with Jarius & the talk was about him being able to see what was out there in FA & that the only way the Bills would have a chance at him coming back was allowing him to do so . But i truly don't see him coming back ! I think Cleveland has the kind of money to go get Byrd & with the way Byrd enjoyed working with in Pettines scheme i think it's all but a done deal . Which is one reason why it baffled me why the Bills didn't tag him & start talking trade with the Browns to add to the amount of draft picks we have . It's been nice watching Byrd in a Bills uni i just hope if he does leave he goes to the 49ers or some where where we don't have to see him 2 times a year . Bye Bye Byrdie !!

If history is a precursor to what could happen now that we are once again changing D coordinators we will cut him & add his contract to this years dead money pool & defer it to the following year so we can't sign CJ & the others when their contracts run out ...

I was blessed 2 years ago to go to the Bills game against the Pats . The Bills were leading at the half by 28 & the Pats came back to clean the Bills clocks . I will always remember that day because it was a day that Jim Kelly took the time to spend a few minutes with this fan . The guy that was one of the biggest & best Bills to ever be & he was & is just a seemingly normal person . Yet his super human drive to help & please others while putting his own personal pain & loss makes him a real life super hero ! Superman & Batman have nothing on Jim Kelly he is the true Captain America

Glenn being a proven player at the LT position & having a year in the offense i don't personally see it happening , especially when they have said the weak link in our O line is RT & LG . I can't see putting a rookie into such a important position unless this guys play just dwarfs Glenns play . I can see them taking Lewan & then in the later rounds taking a guy like the kid from Notre Dame if he is still there . It has been said that this year is very deep in a lot of positions & O line is one of them . Plus you can never tell what this FO is thinking , the minute you think you have a handle on it they go & do something completely off the track .

Well as i have always heard growing up from the elders in my life & believe it to be very true . Sometimes (or should i say most times) THE TRUTH HURTS !!

If the NFL is a copy cat league & teams that don't do as well watch the teams that are winners in order to turn things around how long does that take to catch on ? The Bills have been around since 1960 & have watched other teams & have been a team that has won on a grand scale dispute not winning the big game they still learned to win but have forgotten all they had learned in that time. Or they have just not went to class to keep up with the new ways to have a winning NFL franchise . Which makes sense seeing as we still have left overs from the 80's & 90's when it comes to front office staff . It's not like we don't have the examples around the league to see just how to make this thing happen . This latest thing with Byrd is just another example of either being lazy when it comes to the front office or just not giving a S**t i can't figure out which that it is . To not use the franchise tag is one thing but at least use all that is available to them & they left one thing completely out that other teams employed the transition tag . Besides why is it such a taboo to use either of these things available to the FO in Buffalo ? I hardly ever remember herring the Bills using these 2 tags to try to keep players in the past . The deal with J. Peters being in the same deal . The Eagles made it work with him why not the Bills ? Which that could be said about a lot of other players that once were on the Bills roster . I JUST DON'T GET IT !! PAY ATTENTION BILLS FO !! Every thing is there for us to be a great team & you won't use it & that deserves a COME ON MAN !!

Thats right thats the exact reason why they should have franchised him so they could of worked a deal with another team but the incompetence of the Bills FO strikes again !! First off as others have pointed out the Bills put a offer out there that at $10 mill for the first 3 years is a very comparable contract , enough so to make him the top paid safety in that 3 years . Second if you are head hunting it should begin with the others that Brandon has to work with that have been here as long or longer than Brandon which is Overdorf, Littman , & Berchtold . The good ole boys club has to go so that the contract incompetence ends !! $54 Mill (or so) over 5 years for a QB that had a proven track record as a career back up but this type of contract for a player that has been to 3 consecutive pro bowls who is the jack ass making these decisions ??

Nasty i hope they don't change to that ! I think by putting the name where they did they are trying to insinuate something in a quiet way about our team , a classless attempt at a redesign of the uni's of which i want no part !!

It seems as though every couple of years things change at 1 Bills Dr. with a new out look for fans to go YES Now we can have a winning team , but alas in the end it always winds up being pretty close to the same in the results category . Well with the seemingly constant change of HC's, D coordinators, O coordinators & so on the one thing that has stayed the same since the late 80's is the powers that be for the Bills, the ones that make the big decisions on contracts, player personal, coaches & all things behind the scene . Which has left the franchise in the old school train of thought & out put . In steps R Brandon given the reigns of the team seemingly a BIG change from Ralph but once again the main cogs stay the same Overdorf, Littman, Berchtold along with B. Carpenter are still the old school thought & actions of the Bills that keep the franchise in the 80's ! I had to stop at ten passes that i saw that our franchise QB put in places that no WR could make a catch unless he was 15' tall !! Which brings me back to the point of we need to draft a QB in a later round so not to put all of our eggs in this guys pocket cause if they get broke where do we go then ?? You all have but ran Tuel out of town & Thad isn't going to take us there . SO ?? To be fare to TJ i personally think it's time to move on & replace him with the big receiver that the Bills exec's have been talking about for the past 5 years . When Buddy drafted this guy i was like HUH ? Where did they get this guy ? I hadn't heard any one making noise over him ! I didn't see that one coming AT ALL !!

I think this year is different though , any of the top 3 would be great but after listening to Lewan's interview i really like the kids attitude ! He said he would play any where, & that he plays through the whistle, which he added some people see that as him being dirty but he said he wants to put his opponent in the dirt every play & we need a bit of nasty on our O line !! Plus he said his job is to give the RB's a place to run & the QB enough time to stand in the pocket & make his reads . So i hope we go O line in the first cause it all starts up front & any of the top 3 is fine !!
