  1. oh that last part is true. And the first part is because of the TV contracts these guys have now. Gotta be the reason for the change. Part of the argument to pay these guys now. Jeez the money is insane. Still http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/finances/ Shows AL Athletics received $6 mil in fees but only tranferred back $5+ back and ran a deficit.
  2. https://bamahammer.com/2018/06/30/alabama-football-tide-near-top-ncaa-revenues-expenses/ Not $46 mill but just over $20 mil not bad.
  3. My bad Ill keep looking, but shows you the gist unless it has changed that much?
  4. Wide right and the illegal lateral game... The greatest comeback game too because of how down I was at half time and the first possession... then the increased heart rate during the comeback and OT... Could feel my heart pounding though because of a good thing. Also the playoff game during the late 70s Bills were up 10-14 points till Haslett step on Bradshaw’s head and got kicked out. Ended a devasting D performance against Pitt and Bradshaw found time to throw two bombs to Swan and Stallworth and pull out a win on their way to another Superbowl...
  5. check it out income v expenses: http://www.espn.com/ncaa/revenue/_/type/expenses Not seeing the profit they claim..,
  6. Won’t believe unless they truly opened their books. Dated but a great book on college sports finances was written in the late 90s by Mo Sperber called College Sports Inc and details how Universities shuffle money around to pretend football and basketball programs make money, but actually run at deficits. Only two programs made money back then... Notre Dame... because the priests remformed the finance post Knute Rockney and Frank Leyden. Forget the other one. Would love to see a detailed update. I think there has been something more recent but would need to research. PR departments at these programs are a well of misinformation.
  7. No even before all that... travel expenses, recruitment expenses, bowl game expenses, conference revenue sharing, more coaches, tutors etc than an NFL team and roster size alone takes care of that plus all the perks coaches and staff recieve.
  8. PS Atheletic departments especially football waste more money then they bring in and cover it up with misc student fees. Make them run them like a true business and we will see how many declare bankruptcy.
  9. Sounds like a Sabres thread where the next year’s draft analysis starts the day after the previous year’s draft.
  10. What’s worse is he is on ESPN radio during football season up in New Wngland fawning all over that Patriots... traitor....
  11. Not drafting Watkins and saving first round picks to use for others in that draft. I’d have to look but to start Odell Beckham.
  12. Try radio.com app, as an expat that is where I get WGR, also mad dog and the fan in NYC area. PS I remember OJ running at old Rock Pile. Also Bills parades down Delaware Ave. OJ handed me and my friend big oranges as we were following them on our banana seat bikes.
  13. So We have Deep State v Illuminati. What is the over/under +/- 3 points. Deep state seems to be the up and comer. Who is their running back?
  14. Had friends who were semi pro riders in my 20s. Mostly sprint races in the DC area. Its a tough and rough sports. Lots of elbows thrown and wrecks can be disasterous. The tour de France is rough and a model of crazy endurance.
  15. Ah go all in a Dylan’s Candies Midtown East:
  16. St Joseph’s Medical Center steak fries. Screw chic filet fin wallmaet of fast food yuck
  17. My Uncle David joined the Marines, though he was drafted by the Colts as a defensive end... the Marines paid better in the 50s. He was the 6'5" Ivy League Trophy Winner out of Dartmouth... David Bathrick. He later became a German Professor and philosopher.
  18. Vice “sin” Taxes... when govt looking for revenue streams... also decreases rate of encarceration... its not illegal... win win
  19. Pretty much... quick stops for gas only. PS Wife and I did 28 hours straight from NYC to Reno taking turns sleeping in back of Honda a year ago last xmas. It can be done
  20. Yeb but live 55 miles north of nyc now. So about 16 hours to GB. Made it from DC to Greenbay in 14 hours years ago.
