  1. I wouldn't mind our coach being called this if he brought the Bills 3 Super Bowl trophies.
  2. #1 Bruce Smith (I'd say I'm satisfied with this pick) #14 Derrick Burroughs (Jerry Rice taken at #16) #29 Mark Traynowicz (Randall Cunninqham taken #37...coulda been our punter!! ) #42 Chris Burkett (Simon Fletcher, 97.5 career sacks, taken at #54) #57 Frank Reich (one of the greatest backup QBs of all time) #63 Hal Garner (#68 Jack Del Rio) #86 Andre Reed (fantastic pick) #112 Dale Hellestrae (#113 Kevin Greene...whoops) The google age makes any question answerable. Just goes to show again that the NFL draft is mostly a crapshoot. I'd say any draft that produces Bruce Smith, Andre Reed, and Frank Reich in the first 4 rounds is still a pretty strong one though.
  3. That guy (Mason) must have no clue how much fans of the Buffalo Bills love their team then. If fans in Baltimore are frustrated with a team that has a shot at the playoffs and winning a Super Bowl, imagine how fickle they will be when they suck. The owners will hijack the team and leave town...AGAIN!!!
  4. On a different note, I pulled out my old Super Bowl XXV game program because it had a week by week breakdown of the regular season that year as well as who won Off and Def players of the week in the AFC and NFC. Cornelius Bennett also won back to back Def player of the week in weeks #4 and #5. Darryl Talley won Def player of the week in week #16 as well. Pretty impressive to have 5 of the 17 Def player/week come from one team. Oh yeah, in week #8, Jairus Byrd's father, Gill, won Def player of the week with the Chargers. Offensively, Thurman Thomas won it in week 3 and Andre Reed won it in week 7. Ahh, the good old days. GO BILLS!!!
  5. Actually, I thought it was Stevie Johnson who singlehandedly won the game for the Squealers. I am the ultimate Steeler hater, but you gotta agree with this. It was not a coincidence that the Steelers lost 5 straight to inferior competition last year when Troy was injured. The way the Steelers play football, most of their games come down to the wire, and when they've got Troy in there making game changing plays in the 4th quarter, they almost always win those close games.
  6. C'mon now, no opinion is meaningless, some just have less meaning than others. That being said, it is great to read something with so much thought and analysis behind it. Whether people agree with what you've said or not, it's really nice to see this kind of enthusiasm and insight to the team we all love!! I'll be certain to look for your posts from now on! GO BILLS!!!
  7. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5923115 Marvin Lewis apparently didn't think too much of TO speaking up.
  8. I would have to say that Fitz getting to 30 TDs (meaning he would have to avg 3 TDs a game the last 3 weeks) is WAYYYYY more realistic than every member here on TBD to earn a billion dollars collectively in our lifetimes.
  9. Let's make it a package deal...I'll throw mine in as well. See you in hell!!!
  10. I would love it if this actually does happen, but more realistically, I think if we have any shot of beating the Steelers it will be in a close game. Pittsburgh rarely ever gets blown out of a game (and seeing the Pats* just handed them their ass 2 weeks ago in their own stadium I don't see it happening again for a while) and I'm really hoping Fitzmagic doesn't get rattled out there facing Dick LeBeau's confusing schemes. I'll take a one point win today gladly. And seeing that I live in Pittsburgh, you might hear my primal scream all the way up at the Ralph if we pull this one off.
  11. Q: why didn't Minnie marry Mickey A: she's F#!@*ng Goofy ...(and Brett Favre)
  12. There's a lot of people out there who believe Andrew Luck would fit your description of an upgrade at QB. If SOMEHOW we managed to land that #1 pick and Luck comes out, I think we are in the perfect position to have a veteran QB teach Luck for a year or two and not throw Luck into the fire immediately. If in that year or two Ryan Fitzpatrick continues improving and turns out to be a top tier QB, we potentially have the same "problem" the Chargers did a few years back between Brees and Rivers. If Fitz turns out to be just a slightly above average QB or less, Luck gets in there and Fitz could play the Frank Reich role. As far as your Brohm comment, the only way that guy sees the field is if Fitz gets hurt or suddenly becomes incompetent (the former seems more likely). If Fitz keeps playing like he has, I kinda hope we never see Brohm (for the reasons I just stated).
  13. I would so much rather read a light-hearted, funny (a little bit) thread like this than some of the negative mud slinging crap that tends to float around out there. Keep 'em coming!!
  14. I just can't wait until the day we can use Queen's "We Are the Champions" song. That'll give us something to shout about.
  15. If you read my above post...you know I HOPE TO GOD it's true!!
  16. Well, after seeing those numbers, I just hope we're not picking 7th!!
  17. It's an interesting theory. I personally believe that teams don't intentionally play to lose, players are very competitive and are essentially playing for their careers each and every game (excluding a handful of superstars). A lottery draft would certainly erase any doubt about that, I guess. My problem would be a team like New England a few years ago who just missed the playoffs although they had an 11-5 record (the year Cassell played). Could you imagine the outcry if they defied the odds and got the #1 pick in the draft that year? (they certainly would not have drafted Stafford, but could have picked up Tyson Jackson from LSU or traded for a bunch of picks like they're known to do...) Maybe if you did it with the 8 or 10 worst teams from that year or something.
  18. I'm just guessing here, but I would say that the play of the QB is changing people's opinions, not the close wins vs crap teams. He played pretty spectacularly against the Ravens(29-43 382 yds 4 TDs 2 INTs), Patriots(20-28 247 yds 2 TDs 2 INTs), Bengals(21-34 316 yds 4 TDs 2 INTs) and Jacksonville(20-30 220 yds 3 TDs 0 INTs) with QB ratings in those games of 106.9 , 92.4 , 107.0 , 121.5 respectively. 3 of those 4 teams have winning records. I know he's gotta work on consistency and lowering INTs, but a 2-1 TD-INT ratio is pretty solid if you ask me (18 TDs-9 INTs). I don't think that this Ryan Fitzpatrick bandwagon is nonsense. I think he needs to continue evolving as a QB, but I'm very excited with what I've seen from him this year and would have no problem at all trying to revamp our defense in the next draft (as long as Fitz continues performing like he's been...if he starts looking like a fool from here on out, my opinion changes. That being said, I don't think he will.).
  19. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/blog/the_dagger/post/Why-an-IPFW-forward-wears-boxing-headgear-during?urn=ncaab-287620 A few weeks ago Joe Paterno suggested that eliminating the facemask from helmets would, in his opinion, sustantially reduce concussions suffered by players. Leather helmets may be a bit outdated, why not boxing headgear? I guarantee you a defender coming at a defenseless player will think twice about delivering a "headgear to headgear" shot that would potentially split his skull open. Anyone got Roger Goodell's cellphone number? This thread has nothing to do with the Bills until now...GO BILLS!!!!
  20. That's OK, I am just thrilled that the Bills are setting positive NFL records...maybe a little jealous your thread got more responses than mine, I'll get over it. GO BILLS!!!
  21. Hopefully moving along into heavy traffic. By the way, I wasn't referring to you as Kanye West, just the whole Hurricane Katrina/George W Bush fiasco. Must have been over your head. Sorry.
  22. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/123507-bills-victory-marked-an-nfl-first/ I thought this was a great topic too!!! GO BILLS!!!!
  23. Not trying to nitpick too much, but we had Jay Riemersma until 2002, before that we had Pete Metzelaars. I know they didn't put up the numbers you see TEs putting up today (the elite ones like Antonio Gates and Tony Gonzalez) but I always thought those 2 guys were superb TEs who could do whatever the team asked of them. So I would say we haven't had a decent TE in 8 or 9 years, and I would love for the Bills to find a game breaking one as well, they seem to open up so many more options for an offense. I don't know if there is one coming out of college this year that has that potential, I always have a hard time telling which ones have what it takes to succeed at the next level. Guess that's why I'm not a pro scout. Hopefully there's one out there.
  24. Next we're gonna see Kanye West saying..."Cris Collisworth hates black people." Seriously, this is a joke. Both what you said and I said. That's ridiculous to say he wants him to get injured. I'm hoping you delete this silly post.
