  1. Agree...which is why I suspect if the BILLS really want Donald, #9 is their best bet...
  2. Well that was elabroate....yes, he's a DT...but his physical size and athletic ability make him an ideal DE....if he's Drafted in a 3-4 Defense, that's exactly where they'll put him...if he can learn that position, it's a shorter jump to a 4-3 DE, he can do that too...but thank you for weighing in "all knowing" Defensive mind...appreciate you taking the time out of your busy god-like schedule to contribute...
  3. Aaron Donald is a sneaky pick for the BILLS. Jerry Hughes did well last year, but seems to be a bit one-dimensional and I think Donald would be a legit 4-3 DE opposite Super Mario. You would also guarantee some scheme versatility as he can obviously play the DT position but by transitioning him to the outside, you don't lose his speed and he can be stout against the run while keeping the other playmakers ON the field and not subbing him in for KW or Dareus...I also think you showcase his talent b/c he can rush the outside to the QB but also big and strong enough to set the edge against the run....I don't know if the Giants would trade with the BILLS from 12 to 9, b/c it could cost them a 3rd, but even if the BILLS stay put at 9, Donald still has good value there, IMHO.
  4. Absolutely! Glennon was not perfect, but all you had to do was watch him to see he can be "pretty good"....he actually reminds me a lot of a young Brady. Tall in the pocket, great arm, and has some command...IS he Brady? Well no, but if you look at them in their Rookie seasons, there are some similarities. I'll go out on a limb, and say if a team like Minnesota were to deal for Glennon, say a 3rd or 4th Rounder, where Glennon is surrounded by a good Defense and a STUD of a RB, he could be successful and have a good career there in Minnesota and potentially end up at a few Pro-Bowls at the height of his career....I know, people are going to char me for that one, but keep in mind what this kid DID do given what was around him and the type of coach he had in Schiano...kid can play.
  5. I would take ONE Sammy Watkins over both those players....I'm NOT in favor of trading up, but if keeping the picks meant those two, then yes, trading up to get Watkins is the choice...I'm still hanging on to a sliver of hope that the BILLS trade DOWN and pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd...or both would be nice, and take Aaron Donald, Morgan Moses and Donte Moncrief or Kyle Van Noy with the 3rd round being a TE...ugh, so much talent this year....
  6. So, would it be fair to say that prior to your post "everyone" knew of your football obsession, but maybe your wife didn't know about your girlfriend??
  7. I'll miss some of the first few minutes of the 2nd round Friday night, but will watch most of the 1st round Thursday and most of Friday night with a buddy getting some chicken wings and beer....training for the Boilermaker...gotta get my balance of carbs and protein... To the OP, if ever there was a good reason to miss time for a Draft, it's anything related to matters of the heart closely associated to a daughter....totally, fully, completely understand...mine is still very young, and not to be too mushy and stuff, but her hugs, is like being enveloped in the heart-beat of God...it's amazing...Congrats!! Enjoy your time Bruh!
  8. Yeah, but when DW says they're "all in" on EJ, to me that means in their mind, there is no doubt....that is NOT to say they wouldn't re-evaluate that position next year if EJ sh*ts the bed, but right now, they've made up their mind....that was more my point...I'm not entirely sold on EJ, I'm more in the "wait and see" mode...but by the way DW was talking, QB isn't even on the radar for consideration in the Draft, unless something truly spectacular happens and even then, if they're "all in" on EJ, wouldn't make any sense...THIS year anyways...I get your point, I was just clarifying mine.
  9. Not that I disagree with there being some questions about EJ, but according to DW, they've already found their QB of the future...therefore, to THEM, it's all about surrounding him with the talent needed to produce a high-scoring Offense....can't wait to see if / when that happens...
  10. Is there a HELL-F*CKING-NO button??? If so, press it faster than a fat man can snatch a gravy biscuit!!
  11. I will also add this: Doug Whaley has said they are "all in" on EJ, this type of trade - IF it does happen - would be nothing short of a complete demonstration of that fact...that DW is willing to forego a valuable pick at #41, not to mention SJ, in order to gain another truly talented weapon for EJ, to grow with, sort of like the Kelly, Thurman, Reed thing....or Aikman, Irvin, Emmitt thing...that, would also spell some indication that a 4th Round RB is almost a guarantee, as I'm assuming 3rd Round would be for an OT...unless they wheel and deal some more for picks, ala players or next year's Draft....
  12. +1....I agree, they have Gordon is the field-stretching WR, with SJ you have your possession WR and adding a pick allows them to get LB and OL help while also adding a DB....
  13. I'm against trading UP for anyone....BUT, if they DO trade up, Watkins would be guy IMO to do it for.... Having said that, I would prefer for the BILLS to trade DOWN and get more picks in a deep Draft and solidify OT, LB and TE, in addition to getting a playmaking WR, that is a deep position this year so you could arguably get a good one in the 4th...IF the BILLS trade SJ, that might move the desire to Draft a top-flight WR to the 1st round, but you can do that at 9 or certainly at 41 with the depth of this Draft...
  14. I appreciate you taking the time to put your thoughts together and your wish list is as good as any others. I am by no means an expert but I would take issue with Bejamin and Boyd as a personal opinion, not picking on your players of choice. In the 2nd, if the BILLS were to Draft a WR, I would rather see them take Moncrief or Jordan Matthews if he's available, or better yet, assuming all WRs stay on the roster, switch and take a WR in the 4th like a Martavius Bryant, who will be a very good WR in the NFL, again IMHO....and then take a DE in the 2nd such as Ford out of Auburn ..now, if the BILLS Draft Lewan, Ford, Borland, and Bryant..that is a balanced Draft with a CB in the 5th like Gaines out of Rice, that to me would be great...however, my favorite Draft would be this: Trade 9 to St. Louis for 13 and their 2nd at 13, take Aaron Donald and move him to DE 2nd Round take: Niklas and Morgan Moses or Cyrus Kouandjio - whichever is available and if both, whomever the BILLS think is best 3rd: Borland / Van Noy (probably not available) / Bullough (might be a bit early) / Skov - if all others are gone 4th: OG 5th: CB - Gaines? 7th: KR / ST speedster That would be my choice for wish list - assuming all WRs currently on roster remain...if SJ gets traded before or during the Draft, you can bump my WR desire to being 3rd round, pushing LB to 4th and picking up a Guard in UDFA....
  15. Because, the natural order of things would have taken its course...for the NBA to take any form of action against what an owner does or says in private, assuming it's not illegal, is tantamount to an abuse of power IMO...the NBA could have stood behind the players and said something like, "We are outraged by Mr. Sterlings comments and saddened that such an event would occur during the most exciting time of our season. However, he does NOT represent the views or beliefs of the NBA as an entity or the rest of the owners as a whole. The players of the NBA are valued partners in our endeavor to broaden our reach to fans and believe our players are not just capable of great athletic feats on the court, but of great character in their communities. We ask the fans of the NBA to make their protests known and express their displeasure and opinions regarding Mr. Sterling's comments directly to him and those who represent him. In the meantime, the NBA will begin a formal investigation to determine if any abuse of power by Mr. Sterling, or any professional improprieties have occurred while Mr. Sterling has owned the L.A. Clippers and publish the results of those findings as soon as they are available"....boom, message sent and Constitutional freedoms not infringed while Mr. Sterling would certainly feel the pressure....appropriate response is the key. IMHO
  16. Which, if you read my original post and then my response, I AGREED with you....but consequences through public forum and demonstrated through business, the very thing he is in, NOT by the NBA who should have remained an active observer but relatively unengaged in the matter....
  17. A) A public employee does not nullify the right to privacy, see your Constitutional Law books for that one...and it's not that the story is irrelevant, it's that the actions taken by the NBA are improper. B) I agree that his opinions are dispicable and he should feel consequences as a result, see all my posts prior....just not by the NBA. They should have issued a statement and bowed out and reminded people that private conversations are considered between two people.....and um, "not far from attending white power rallies" is very different....trust me when I tell you, having lived part of my life in the Deep South, Sterling's comments are atrocious, but they pale in comparison to the vitriol of hate that stews through those rallies...I've never attended, but I've unfortunately heard about them and heard people talk about them, 25 to 30 years ago, but it is very different....sad and it makes my stomach turn to think of the hatred, but they're very different. If you truly feel this way, then you haven't had even a second-hand view of them...it's ignorance at its highest (or lowest) level.
  18. First, equating the President of the United States with an owner of a business, no matter how large, would seem to be a bit over-reaching...and actually, the way the President would feel the pinch of his private opinion made public, is EXACTLY how I perceive the punishment for Sterlings racist comments to be carried out: in the form of public opinion. If the President said something hateful or racist, he would not get re-elected, he wouldn't be arrested or forced to leave the country, so you've essentially made my point for me. I am all for repercussions for Sterling, but NOT at the hands of the NBA, instead at the hands of the people who support their team. After all, if we're talking politics, owning a team is similar to politics in that, you are dependent on your constituency, and therefore, if they're not happy, you're not around for long - in business or in politics. Then you indicate "pummeling" someone at a BILLS game, now we've crossed into the legal matters. If Sterling pummeled someone at a game, that would appropriate for the NBA to take action as it would be a violent offense and in most states a crime....but a private discussion should be kept exactly that.
  19. As far as whatever you want without taking responsibility, that's not what I said, go back and read it again...what I said was, the NBA has no right to weigh in on this issue...it occurred between two lovers in a private conversation. And sorry, I don't know you, but would you want everything you've ever said to a lover in a heated argument to be made public? And then held against you in your business? I don't believe it's Consitutional and I believe it to be completely against what America stands for...the right to speak freely, and to disagree, and have assh*les who are ignorant and racist, so that the other voices of reason and intelligence can persuade some....but the beauty is found in the power of persuasion, not in the edge of the blade or force...consequences for his touch-hole should have been a slow and methodical loss of his asset through the court of public opinion not buying tickets, losing merchandise, seeing protests outside the arena...not the NBA coming in with some hypocritical ban, as if they didn't know Sterling held these views.... Btw, freedom WITH consequence, is no freedom at all...therefore, you are not "free" to say whatever you want because the consequence will follow...now, appropriate consequence is a different medium altogether, and on that, we can agree....but the NBA yielding its large stick to "punish" Sterling for a private matter, is an abuse of power....to me
  20. If that employee was found to be wearing said KKK robes while on the job? Yes, indeed he should be fired...but let's say he does this on the weekends, has never made any statements to co-workers and in fact all of us were shocked that he belonged to the KKK, how exactly did that effect his ability to do his job? And even if he is a public representative, he represents the company when on company time and is individual when he isn't working, so on comapny time it's equality for everyone and it better be full throated, but what he does on the weekends or at nights when he's not working, is none of mine or anyone else's business....it's personal. Not to mention, it's quite different to be having a lover's quarrel revealed versus attending an actually rally for white supremacy....don't see the difference, there's deeper issues there.
  21. Not to be a douche...but I think this belongs in a thread Off the Wall seeing as it's not football or Buffalo Bills related.... However, given it's right here, I'll say my two cents: Private conversations are just that, private...what he said was abhorrent and represents an arcane and provincial stream of thought that does not belong in modern society. However, for the NBA to rule on anything said or done in private that is NOT illegal and was not done as a representative or as an owner of the Clippers is reprehensible in my mind...it is one step closer to censorship. To levy a ban and or consequences for words exhanged between lovers when he had FULL expectation of privacy and the belief that what was said was to be kept between to people struggling in a relationship, is ludicrous and tantamount to abuse of power by the NBA. I do NOT agree with him and I fully believe he should feel the consequences of his actions / words, but do so in the proper context. Have your fans bail on buying tickets and merchandise until he sells the team, hold protests out front, write letters to papers and on social media expressing your outrage...but for the NBA to take any formal action, against anyone, expressing their opinion or thoughts in private is wholly unconstitutional in my mind....detest his opinion, but too much blood has been spilled and too many lives have been lost, to not protect his freedom to say it...
  22. This information does two things for me: it absolutely validates my concern for Drafting Ebron at 9th overall, or maybe even in the 1st round at all, and secondly, it solidifies what I already knew from my "eye" test, Niklas is the guy for Buffalo. Given his information, I don't think he lasts past the 2nd, but he may creep into the 3rd given the depth at the WR position and OT position in the Draft...not to mention CB. So, now, I really hope the BILLS don't Draft Ebron at all, let alone with #9 and hope they CAN Draft Niklas, wherever that might be as they determine by their value board.
  23. Re: #2 - Fair enough to agree to disagree. I just don't think Ebron would do well in Buffalo, ala Graham, but if he puts on the BILLS uni, you can goddamn bet I'll be cheering for him....he wears the colors (and isn't a law-breaking douche), I support him and hope for all that is holy, I am dead-wrong and would be very happy to start an apology thread after his Rookie season to say as much...I'm not above eating my fair share of crow...hell, for some parts of my life, I survived on it!
  24. I'm not totally against the BILLS taking him, although I'm not rallying for it to happen, as I mentioned in my first post, I would be "ok" with it and accept it, but not loving it...I "hate" it for the BILLS at 9th, but down into the teens or later, I could learn to accept it, because the BILLS would pick up another Draftted Player, but just not sold on Ebron for all the reasons I mentioned, my football philosophy for the BILLS I suppose...but again, it's primarily the value and some of the player.... See above....basically, I would understand IF the BILLS Drafted him in the teens or later, but would have a hard time accepting it if they picked him at 9th overall....having said all of that, I'm not one of the whiners that believes if a team doesn't do what I agree with that I'm going to go pout in the corner....once I've swallowed the pick and remind myself to trust Whaley - which I truly do, the guy has the BILLS moving in the right direction IMO - I will support any player (unless a crime is committed) that wears a BILLS uniform like they were my brother....
  25. This is a smart move, and something I fully expected from Whaley given how he appears to go about business...it's economically sound, insures their not in a dog fight for a contract after next season and gives them room to negotiate a new contract with him and time to get it done, while being focused on the upcoming season and not distracted by being in a "contract year", for both sides...for different reasons...good job Doug W. and just another example of how he is slowly changing the culture at BILLS, and it won't be fully changed until they start winning and contending for titles...but, it's a start...hell, you don't turn the Titanic on a dime, it's a long, slow turn....hence, the ending of the Titanic
