Scott Ferrall on Saturday's Game

who? -
where exactly do we have these major upgrades? LT - same LG - could be the same, Spain has been stellar (no sacks all year) C - same RG - same RT - Could be an upgrade but I would be surprised given the resources put into Ty/Ford QB - same RB - probably an upgrade of RB 2, but is that major? WR - I'm guessing this is where you want that "major upgrade" - agreed, a solid number 2 or an equal to John Brown as a number 1 TE - same sooooo...are you just saying the major upgrade will be adding a good WR or a rookie WR with potential? Yea, I agree....but you consider that "major upgrades"?

Bills at Texans: What's On Your Menu?

a few pizzas from Buteras in hamburg (delicious pizza) and a home made salad. Friend of mine has some fresh beer from asheville so we will tear into those. -
Bills at Texans Playoff Game, Saturday 4:35 pm

its funny that you think Allen hasn't had options on virtually every play. -
27-20 Bills... Offense plays well, defense plays well but gives up a big play. Houston has a chance to tie the game at the end and the D gets it done.

Kevin johnson will be 28 next football season, in his 6th season. He doesnt need to "develop", hes a former first rounder, his issues have been health. He is pretty good, but not someone I want to have to rely on. He is also a free agent. Even if he does resign and start I would want another CB. Not saying it has to be a high draft pick, but I guarantee we add to the CB room.

Any ideas on josh Allen improbable play?
PaattMaann replied to Over 29 years of fanhood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
well, NOW im really picky. I want to see a moonwalking 61 yard TD with the ball balancing on his head!!! -
20 points is the key to victory tomorrow

well we are 9-1 when scoring 17....ill take those odds (this is all moot though because Josh is totaling 4 TDs tomorrow) -

rather have it be a 61 yard TD pass. -
Im super good with Gore. He helped this team tremendously for the month without Singletary. Gore has been our 4 minute offense back all year, dependable. Sure his YPC have dropped as the season wears on, but hes not meant to be that guy, he only had to be due to injuries. And he filled in admirably. (Giants game, 70 yards and a TD on 19 carries...Bengals game, 76 yards and a TD on 14 carries...Pats game, 109 yards on 17 carries...) Ivory couldn't hold Franks jock strap. Singletary wouldn't be near the ready made NFL back we are seeing right now without Gore being his mentor and teacher. If you think otherwise your head is literally buried in the sand. I would bring Gore back next year JUST to keep this role with Singletary.

To your bolded... 1) I dont think its a weird question. A lot has been said on social media/in the news about Tom Brady not playing well against McD defense since McD has gotten here (but is still undefeated against him)...so I think its a valid question, but of course McD is going to deflect and not engage 2) Don't let that bother you, just a simple slip. He has been saying Sunday about games forever, it happens. I tweeted yesterday about the game on "Sunday" until someone corrected me lol, it happens, we are used to it. Cheers!

Todd McShay Mock Draft 1.0 - Video
PaattMaann replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
you arent totally wrong but I Think you are generalizing. Josh has thrown into tight coverage this season, especially these past 5-ish games. Look at the huge play in the game sunday night, the thrown down the sidelines to Brown - the "Renedage" moment. Brown was draped (and interfered with). Allen will make those throws. -
Brown could EASILY run those outside routes, because hes a deep threat. He has all the cushion and space in the world to run those routes. Our Brown runs those routes ALL THE TIME and Allen connects for those same exact reasons. I THINK they dont run those routes in Baltimore because A) they dont need to right now and B) it doesnt play to Lamars strenghts. You need serious arm strength to pound that ball in time or its an eaassssyyy pick for the D, even with cushion (see Nate Peterman - not saying thats the level of Lamars arm strength at all). My knock on Lamar going back to college hasnt been accuracy, its been total strength. Even his middle of the field throws lack the ZIP that I want, and that I see on Allens. Love this debate by the way.
-
I will answer with my personal opinion, the eye test. Ive watched them both, virtually every NFL game (allen for sure, probably 90 percent of Lamars), and most of Lamars in college. Lamar has a passable arm (again, to my eye test), whereas Allen has the indisputable "can make every throw". They both have accuracy issues. So I will go with the guy who actually can physically make every throw, and is still extremely dangerous with his legs, and I think can hold up to the beatings a mobile QB will take...I Don't think Lamar will. Lamar has been surrounded by talent and scheme so far in the NFL (not in college, his senior year offense was laughably bad in the talent department), Allen is barely scratching the surface in that department. Im choosing Allen over potential for sustained greatness. I think both could be really dangerous in the NFL, I just personally think Jackson is the riskier bet because it depends on an offense being tailored to his strenghts, where as Allen could develop into a "plug and play" QB. If Lamar Jackson were on the Bills we wouldnt be running that same offense and he wouldnt be having an MVP Season, I would bet my life on that. BUT, you are right, if he was on the Bills and playing like he is for the Ravens then I would be stanning for him hardcore....but that aint reality.
-
I know Jackson is a top 5 QB in his current offense. I dont think he would be in another offense (back to my Peyton VS Brady comp). Im not willing to take that risk when I KNOW I have a guy who can already do what Allen is doing, and has shown the tools to do everything youd ever want from your franchise QB. I disagree he needs "a lot to go right to ever get to that level". I think we see that level next year to be honest.
-
Patrick Mahomes, Deshaun Watson, I dont think Wilson because hes already 31. There are def guys who are way better than Allen but already too old (Rodgers/Brees etc.). But no, not really. There arent many. Im betting on the progress I have seen from Allen and his potential to keep getting better. Tools are there. (Also, I was on the "anyone but Allen" bandwagon in the draft and was devastated we took him. I was wrong) I get that you are really in love with Jackson. He has had an amazing season. But I want my QB to be a QB first, Lamar isnt that. He will succeed in this Ravens offense as long as they employ it, maybe another year before Roman gets a HC job and then you will see major regression (thats what I would bet on). Lamar is passable as a passer, but if you ask him to be a traditional pocket QB and eliminate more than half of his runs, he wouldnt be having an MVP season. I am willing to bet that this season will be Lamar's best in fact from a total yards and TD stand point - maybe next year too, but I dont envision a long shelf life for it. Kind of hope I am wrong though because it is funnnn to watch. IF lamar was on the Bills he wouldnt be MVP, if you think we (or the vast majority of the league) would do what the Ravens are doing with Jackson you misunderstand the NFL.
