yea thats cool, we don't throw to RBs..both Devin and Zach are more than capable of being good pass catchers out of the backfield, and have put that on tape. Im not arguing they are better than Harris in that regard, just that we shouldn't draft someone with a skill set that we already don't use. I also don't see us using more draft capital on a position we have already invested in the past two drafts - and we aren't dressing three RB's next who don't contribute on special teams. And are we really going to cut Devin or Zach? I just don't see it.

PaattMaann replied to Dkollidas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Doesnt matter where they line up, they will all be burnt toast after 4 quarters -

Key to beating the Ravens- beating the blitz
PaattMaann replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
agreed. But have you seen much crying from our WRs this year? There is a reason our defense says that while our defense is full of dogs, they give credit to Diggs being a dog too...they are ready for battle yea I have watched a bunch of Ravens this year, and havent seen a lot what I would call growth from Lamar (and I am a BIG Lamar fan for the record, I thought he would be an actual NFL QB because I thought he suffered from no talent around him at Louisville instead of him being a bad actual QB). He seems like he has taken a step back to me this year, could be lack of all those nice TE options this year though. Could be defenses adjusted and him not yet. Could be a combination of a lot of things. Bottom line for me is, make him throw to beat you. Period. (And to be specific, make him throw downfield and to the outside as much as possible) Also you flipped his QBR - it was 83 in 19, 73 this year -

The numbers dont support Lamar has progressed as a passer this year. -

There is evidence to say its not the same Allen that the Ravens will be facing. What is the evidence to support Lamar would do what you are suggesting? -
I dont disagree about Allen's play, but three huge missed blocks, two leading to sack (one fumble), by Knox and the two crucial drops that killed drives were hugely to blame for that loss. No way around that. Allen wont play like he did last year, that I can guarantee. I HOPE Knox has grown past that point.

I personally was always motivated by my previous bad games in football. I also love when coaches do what your saying with Knox, after a drop go right back to him to let him erase that bad memory immediately. In this case it was a year ago, I would be motivated by "remember how ***** you played against them last year? revenge game for ya baby".

I just rewatched last years bills vs ravens game for fun. BOY DID DAWSON KNOX SUCKKKKKK....I hope the coaches specifically reminded him of his poor performance to motivate him to have a good game. He has been more consistent as of late so hopefully he has a good game if they ask him to do the same things they did last year. He missed three KEY blocks, two got Josh killed and the other prevented a huge play. He also had two key drops as we were driving. Absolutely abysmal game by him. Josh failed to make plays that I dont see how he fails to make this year. Period. Pass pro held up on many plays giving him time and he just didnt capitalize, opps were there, he just missed his windows. That aint happening Saturday. A couple other big drops by receivers (cole beasley brothaaaa come on) on big chunk plays where the ball was on the money. I don't know the stat line, but Singletary had some really nice runs and made something out of nothing, was patient....especially early on in the game. That was encouraging. On defense, we did best when we got downhill and attacked their offense instead of sitting back and reading the RPO. Guys rushed their lanes from the snap and good things happened, id expect more of that. LOTS of 3 LB sets....it will be interesting to see how much they trust Klein to see how much true 4-3 we see.

Bills Mic’d up for Colts game
PaattMaann replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He for sure has progressed!! For what its worth, the two main guys we drafted and then paid have stayed as dedicated or become MORE dedicated to the team and their play has remained the same or gotten better post paycheck....I really like to see that. -
Sometimes the matchup doesnt dictate what you personally deem necessary to call it a good defensive performance though. Phillip Rivers was the least sacked, and least hurried QB in the NFL this season (besides Big Ben). There is a reason for that. They protect him very well and most importantly he gets rid of the ball. Why would you design a game plan to generate sacks and pressure if that is what the offense does great at? The answer; you dont. A total defensive performance cannot be looked at by saying "Well Rivers missed an open WR to convert a 3rd and 2" and add a couple of those plays up to say the defense didnt make plays. I saw a defense that held a potent, balanced offense to 10 points through 3 quarters. Thats impressive. And as I said, yes it takes 4 quarters to win a game, and I disagree completely with the change in defensive gameplan once we got up 2 TDs. But we changed, and allowed them free, easy chunk runs that got them back in the game. We will obviously continue to see that defensive performance differently, and you are in the majority (From what I have read on here), but thats OK. Its why we come here! I am confident in this teams defensive ability going into Saturday. Go Bills!

Wait so your saying the Colts were NOT perfect and finished every drive with TD's? What a shock!!!! They missed crucial conversions like ALL TEAMS do? What a shock!!! Yea it was definitely all the colts mistakes, not the bills having any influence. LOL. no team plays perfect all game long and thats part of football. Defense did a really good job executing the gameplan for 3 quarters. You can disagree, but I know what I saw. Classic bend but dont break. I do have a problem with our 3rd down defense against the Colts, but we've been pretty good on 3rd down all year, so it doesnt concern me. I'm not saying we have the 85 Bears defense here, but I do think our defense had a turnaround this season is playing some really good football, and we are really good at doing exactly what we gameplan for - taking away opponents strengths. That is obviously the run game with the Ravens so I expect a solid gameplan and day from the defense. That is literally impossible to tell on an online message board without using any crucial "joke" or "sarcasm" comment. Sorry for taking it exactly like I read it.

what a dumb comment I dont need to defend them, because I am sure if your anywhere near informed (which I assume you are because you are on this message board), but I will anyway. they have literally been dancing ALL YEAR LONG. There is zero correlation between them dancing during practice and their focus preparing for a game, unless that correlation is that they are dialed in and loving practice. They danced all week before the dolphins in week 17, how did that turn out? They danced all week for the previous 16 games before that, how did those turn out? Seriously a dumb comment, im sure you are better than that.

Gave up 10 points through 3 quarters. Held a guy who runs all over teams the last half of the season to like 3.5 ypc on over 20 attempts. Indy got a bunch of yards after we went into a prevent D (soft cover 2 zone) when we went up 24-10, and they ripped off a few big runs because we gave it to them. We had a two possession lead until 6 minutes left - and a huge communication breakdown led to their get close TD by their TE. Im sorry but I dont think our defense had a bad game. Even for all of our 3rd down trouble. I would say we should have never went into that soft zone when we went up two scores, but that was a coaching call and not on our players. They played a really good team, really tough for 3 quarters. Some of ya'll are a trip.
