He didn’t get cut I would bet good money that all 6 (Williams, Maye, Nix, Penix, Daniels, JJ) will be gone by pick 16 (Seattle's pick) No matter how good we all think these guys are, All 6 have nfl starting QB potential and there are 7 teams in the top 16 (Chi, Was, NE, Min, Den, LV, Sea) that definitely need a starting QB and 2 wild card teams that could take one of these guys in the top 7 picks (NYG, TEN)

Bills 2024 Roster Breakdown (Current status)

Exactly last year 2 guys that should’ve made the roster were cut for lower level free agents and then they were picked up by other teams. I think Beane keeps all of his draft picks this year -

Man I hope with 11 picks it’s more than 7 that stay on the 53. Unless you think 4 of the picks will be used to trade up. I think this is the year all of our picks actually make the roster and aren’t wasted -
100% agree. I love Beane but he’s got itchy finger sometimes lol. Needs to take some Ritalin.

Bills 2024 Roster Breakdown (Current status)

Honestly Rapp is the only questionable mark on an otherwise stellar free agency thus far. Not a huge fan of Rapp but I know there are still a plethora of safeties to be had and Beane will work his magic doing his bargain basement shopping for one or two. It’s a position I actually trust our FO and coaches on and we don’t need to overpay -
Exactly why we can be patient. Bet half of the guys available now will still be available after the draft. Play the long game and we could be sitting pretty getting some huge impact players on the cheap wanting to win a Super Bowl. How crazy would it be to get Khalil Mack, Keenan Allen and Nick Chubb all on one year reasonable deals after the draft. It’s a pipe dream maybe but possible with how expensive they are. I could see LAC and CLE releasing them to free up money

100% agree. Couldn’t be happier with the way we started our new season. We knew things would be tight but Beane found a way to still keep 2 key pieces from last years D in DQ and AJ. He got our best backup QB back on a cheap contract and he hasn’t overpaid for anyone overrated (well maybe Rapp). Now let free agency come to you, no need to rush and spend on one of the 20+ safeties still available. Hopefully the scouting department killed the draft prep and we hit on all of our picks. After the draft we hit on any remaining holes. Side note: impact players are still going to be released in the upcoming days and months (Khalil Mack, maybe even Nick Chubb) We’ll be fine playing the long game

Awesome! Hope the contract wasn’t crazy but glad AJ is sticking around

Welcome to LT Mr. Van Denmark. A little bit of me thought this could happen. I’m not mad at it. He’s been very good for us but getting older and more expensive totally understandable -

They just said he was cut on NFL network -
Russ signs 1yr $1.2M deal with Pittsburgh
NeverOutNick replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is not a knock on Pittsburgh’s supporting cast it’s about Wilson deciding too quickly He was in the most unique situation in NFL history. A free QB every team would’ve taken because like I said he is basically free (1 year $1.2 mil). Why rush? Just my opinion but I’d bet after the draft we’re going to see a team still lacking at the QB position and we will be like man Wilson should’ve waited and been the starter there. Again Pittsburgh could work out but wouldn’t that offer still be there after the draft? Steelers resign Rudolph? Maybe… but even if they do they’ll offer that same 1yr $1.2 mil contract because it’s a nothing contract that EVERY team in the NFL would give him -

Thought I explained exactly why in my post -
Russ signs 1yr $1.2M deal with Pittsburgh

Exactly! The 1 year, $1.2 mil was going to be the contract every team in the NFL was going to offer. Nothing else would’ve made sense from either side. Rus needed to pick the team that gave him another chance to show he’s not washed so he can get one last “big” payday. I think he chose poorly but we’ll see. My money is on Pickett bouncing back and winning the job. But as a fan of NFL chaos this was the best outcome because now Cousins and Fields bidding war will be more fun to watch -

From Steelers POV it’s a genius move. They weren’t going to draft one of the top 6 QBs and now Pickett has legit cheap competition. Now for the Russell Wilson side which I don’t understand: If Wilson wanted to get a guaranteed starting gig he would’ve been best served to wait this out. He was going to sign a 1 year $1.2 mil contract no matter the team, and the timing didn’t matter for the contract. His agent doesn’t care because he’s getting paid regardless but the smart move for him was to wait until after all the other free agent QBs signed and after the draft. Then Rus can look at the landscape and make his choice. Almost every team in the league would take Rus for one year at this deal. What if the raiders at pick 13 missed out on all the rookie QBs they targeted and end up after the draft only having 2nd year QB O’Connell on the roster. Wouldn’t that situation be more attractive? Or better yet the Vikings with their plethora of weapons. Bet if he did well there he’d get a nice contract in next years free agency. All in all it wasn’t a bad move because he could very well beat out Pickett (I doubt it) but the smart move would’ve been to wait -
Why? I’d love him back if he wasn’t expensive. He’s finally coming into his own and made multiple game changing plays last year
