  1. Duvernay may not be an every down player. Right now he’d be a #5 but man is he special with the ball in his hands. I’m still holding out that he can turn into an every down player but even if he’s our returner and gadget guy he’s amazing at both of those roles. Way better than McKenzie or Harty
  2. Love the title of the thread lol. Nice job
  3. The extensions for Dawkins and Knox are not necessary. I think he can get basically same outcome without extending either player. I also don’t love Zeke but I get his reasoning since he’s very good at the things Cook is not (pass blocking, short yardage up the middle). I believe we can find a guy in the draft like Corum instead. His mock free agency and draft weren’t perfect but overall it was very well done and I would be stoked if it went basically the way he drew out. Duvernay is a guy I know would thrive in this offense and is an immediate upgrade at returner.
  4. Here’s the 2nd part for anyone interested. Still very impressed. Not the WRs I would’ve taken in the draft BUT I do respect Ladd’s game and would be happy to call him a bill. Marino overall did a great job. Hope Beane is somewhat close to his overall template:
  5. Got to admit I loved what he did with our own players (the restructures and re-signings of our own bills). I’m ok with the free agents BUT what I love is that he set it up to make sure we go WR in the draft so I’m happy with that. A lot were affordable depth players. I forgot how good Gilman was so nice snag for that money. He absolutely NAILED the only 2 WRs I’d go after this free agency period for the prices he got them for us. Great job overall Joe. Very impressed I’m actually excited to see his mock draft now and how the signings impact our Comp
  6. Ya I get it’s not that big of a deal honestly I don’t dislike Legette. I’d be happy with him on the bills. He’s physical, he’s built like DK and AJ brown I just can’t get over him not being able to get separation. He’s so fast and strong but his route running is suspect and it’s a lot of contested catches. I just want our new #1 WR to be the guy that gets open right away for Josh so he doesn’t have to Superman it so often. I don’t see that guy being Legette. Hope I’m wrong if he’s who we take as our future #1.
  7. Wish Mack would take a hometown discount. I’ve always wanted to see him in Buffalo. One of the few free agents I’d be ok going after for the right price
  8. Good riddance not the Denver WR I’d want anyways. Gladly give up a 5th and 6th for Sutton
  9. Not the Michigan WR I’d want. Much rather have Roman Wilson round 2 and/or Luke McCaffrey round 5. Johnson is a talent that never lived up to the hype at Michigan but then again you could be onto something because Collins came from Michigan where he never did much and now he’s awesome. I would definitely be more on board taking Johnson in the 4th or 5th round than I was about Shorter last year 🤮 …Honestly if we came out of the first two rounds getting Latu round 1 and Tez Walker round 2 I’d very happy. Then fill up the back end with O and D lineman and a couple more stabs at WR… Even though in this scenario McD wins by getting his d lineman early lol
  10. That’s how I feel about Mitchell. If he played hard like Legette did every snap, AD would be a top 10 pick. I’m betting on him playing hard with Josh Allen as his QB because the talent is undeniable
  11. I think everyone knows I want WR again and again in this draft. You couldn’t draft too many for my liking with how talented this crop is but Latu is the one D lineman I’d be on board drafting if he fell to 28. Just hope the next 3 picks are WRs lol…then some more D and o line depth. Who cares about safety pickup one of the free agent stragglers after the draft. It’s one of the few positions I trust McD to coach up and be fine
  12. I don’t see him as a #1 but if we take him round 1 I’ll trust the FO. He’s just not my top choice. I believe there are at least 8 better options. But the guy is going to work hard and Josh is going to like that, I just question his nuance for route running. I want a WR that can with with separation for Josh, not just chuck it up 50/50 balls
  13. If we take him I hope you’re right.
  14. Josh Reynolds? The WR who dropped multiple passes in the NFC championship game? Noah Brown is intriguing but unless he wants a cheap contract I’d rather just draft a couple WRs in this loaded class
  15. I’ve been thinking about JJ some more. I still haven’t changed my view on him as an actual NFL starting QB. He shouldn’t be a day 1 starter in this league. He lacks accuracy, especially on deep balls and is very inconsistent BUT if he were to go to a team like NYG or Minnesota where he has a great offensive mind running the show and hopefully can sit and learn behind Cousins or another seasoned vet for a year before being thrown I think he’s got the mental make up to succeed. He seems like a great kid, interviews really well and strong leader. I’m hoping he succeeds but the things he needs to fix (accuracy and inconsistency) are harder to envision than someone like Williams who just needs a good coach to teach him to stay in the pocket and take what the defense gives you. I will say, if I could place a bet in Vegas, like it or not, I’d bet over 5.5 QBs go in the first round
  16. Ya if only Legette ran a 4.3 forty like DK. Plus for all of what DK is now he’s still not a good route runner
  17. Combine wasn’t a great day for Franklin but I’m trusting what I’ve seen on the field. If he fell to 60 I’d be ecstatic. Diggs didn’t come in as the route running technician he is now. Franklin shows a lot of those Diggs traits off the line but I agree he needs to fill out more. He’s young, he will. I do think gun to head I would take Mitchell over Franklin but it’s close
  18. Legette is a fine WR. He’s all effort with a big strong body. BUT he’s not a good route runner, can look lumbering in and out of breaks that leads to not great separation. He’s a solid #2 WR. He belongs in the Polk tier not the first round tier. There is nothing wrong with that because I’d still be happy to have him I just don’t think he projects to a future star like Mitchell, Franklin and heck I’ll say it Tez Walker can. Mitchell and Franklin are worth our pick at 28 but Walker would be a 2nd rounder to me because he’s more raw, I just love his upside with the right coaching and his buy in. Seems like a good kid too from listening to his interviews
  19. I can get on board with this. I’m finishing up my WR scouting report rankings now but honestly after the top 4 (Odunze, Harrison, Nabers, Thomas) that will all be off the board before our pick, there are 2 WRs I really want for Buffalo, Troy Franklin and AD Mitchell. I understand they both have a couple holes in their game (Franklin concentration drops and Mitchell lack of playing hard every snap). That’s a big reason they aren’t sure fire top 15 picks and that could be a blessing for us. They also are guys that are so talented. AD Mitchell is a faster and better route running George Pickens coming out and Franklin still screams faster and taller Diggs to me. I feel unlike some of the other WRs I like later, these 2 if coached up early will be #1 WRs on our team as soon as middle of this first year. This is such an awesome WR draft class. I hope we come away with at least 2
  20. I don’t think he’s crappy at all. I think he’s a hard worker and a good #2 WR but he’s not worth a first round pick imo
  21. I like the story of Legette more than I like what I see on the field. He’s not in my top 8 WRs right now and I wouldn’t take him at 28. Round 2 sure
  22. If they have a target or 2 they really need pre-draft that’s fine if it’s at a reasonable price. I don’t think we need to do anything splashy because the splashiness is what got us in this cap hell in the first place. Beane is a master of wheeling and dealing I just think this is an offseason he needs to sit on his hands a little more than usual and trust his scouting department for the draft. What I don’t want to happen is McClappy to get his way again and we spend a lot on a pass rusher or for the FO to be like “look bills fans here’s Derek Henry or Hollywood Brown” now be distracted while we bypass all this amazing WR talent in the draft to get younger on defense for McDoucher lol…the ol misdirection magic trick “ooh how pretty, hey wait a second wasn’t this a good WR draft, what happened?”
  23. I’m not saying your math is wrong. I understand how math works believe it or not lol. I’m saying your approach is wrong. And honestly from your example I don’t know why you’re fighting me so hard on this lol. You have us taking 7 players pre draft not 10, not 20 so you’re more on my side than you’re acting. Those veteran minimum guys you signed pre draft could be had after the draft too. No reason to jump in so quickly in free agency is my point. It’s gotten us in trouble in the past and I think Beane would finally like to keep some of his late draft picks from now on
  24. I think you’re overshooting how much we need pre draft. Your example shows a less active approach. A lot of the backend of the 90 man roster comes after the draft with undrafted free agents and free agents that haven’t signed a deal yet post draft. The bills are a team that over the last few years have had to cut guys they’ve drafted because we paid so much in free agency for “washed” older vets. I don’t want us spinning are wheels again. Let’s stick to the youth movement we’ve got going no reason to have our 10th D lineman be another Poona Ford and let our 6th and 7th round picks get released to some other teams active roster and CJG is not washed. He’s been injured but still very young and will be very cheap imo because of the injury history. He also can play free safety and nickel so the versatility is money.
  25. I agree that you did good making calculated free agent moves and I think we’re basically on the same page I just wouldn’t have invested in McKinney. I stated Daquan was the guy I would resign. We don’t have a “zillion” open holes. We have a couple holes on the D line and at Safety. This is where you go into the draft first. Then after the missile fill with one year contracts like we did last year getting Floyd. So, no we don’t need to be “very active” in free agency early on and with the way you went about your scenario, you weren’t “very active” early on either. You resigned players like Lawson, Lewis and Jones who don’t hurt the comp pick strategy so good on you. I’d be ecstatic if we got Odunze and Jenkins first 2 rounds so good on you there. Even though we don’t agree on the players you drafted after round 2, I do like the positions you selected. Now back to your big free agent move pre-draft: McKinney feels like he’ll be expensive and I don’t think he’s worth a big contract. I’d rather wait until after the draft and sign a cheaper deal for Curl or Gardner Johnson (both I think compliment Rapps short comings in coverage). Safety is not an area we need to spend big money as we have a track record of being able to develop and get the most out of our DBs (Elam aside) Michael Thomas seems washed but if we get even 60% of what he was I’m fine throwing him a 1 year prove it deal although I’d rather just go 3 deep at WR in this epic draft I also like Foreman on a cheap deal if we can’t get a pounder like Corum in the draft All in all, I like the way you’re thinking because you’re investing in Josh Allen, trying to get him some actual impact receivers.
