I'll concede that the defense did their job today - better than I ever expected with the personnel losses. Still, i think that expecting this defense to carry the team to the playoffs without significant help from the offense is folly.
I think that you missed that Taylor put up a game that was worse by a lot than a typical game by EJ Manuel. I am not saying that Manuel is a legitimate starting QB, but Taylor certainly didn't look like one, either.
I thought that the defense would be the big problem this year, but they certainly played well enough to win today. The entire offense was worse than awful. Taylor sure didn't look like a QB who could lift a struggling team to victory.
At least we have a franchise QB - oops. If Taylor doesn't play MUCH better, his contract could make the one that the Bills gave to Fitz look really good.
I don't remember EJ having any worse a game as Taylor played today. 4th round pick Dak Prescott has almost as many passing yards as Taylor after one series.
