  1. Turn out the lights... Two things are obvious from today's game: 1. Rex and Rob have put together an embarrassingly bad defense - their specialty! 2. Tyrod Taylor can occasionally complete a pass - when the defense is loaded to stop the run, but he is NOT an NFL starting QB. I root for him, but he is just not good enough to win with. No playoffs again....
  2. Hey, I have NEVER played pro football and I can assure that I have still aged. You are right that he didn't take the physical punishment that he would have had he played, but he still did age.
  3. Rules were different back then. New rules favor the offense much more than they did in Kelly's days. Believe that Kelly's (and Reed's, Lofton's and Thurman's) stats would have been much better if they had played with today's rules.
  4. What reason are you implying? Nearly everyone started out rooting for Taylor the hard working likable underdog, but his shortcomings as a passer are not fully made up for by his ability to make plays with his legs. Undoubtedly, he is exciting, but a good NFL starting QB needs to be able to hit guys in stride on timing routes - throw the ball to a spot and trust your guy to get there - Taylor has not shown that ability nearly enough. We may be watching Taylor again next year, though because there don't appear to be many better options available this offseason.
  5. Yeah baby, the penalties start!
  6. Well, at least the suspense will be over by end of today - they will be out of playoff contention.
  7. Nobody deserved to win that game.
  8. Need one more stop.
  9. Can you feel it coming?
  10. Why did they pass on 3rd down? Gave Cincy an extra 30 seconds
  11. Awful play calling. Ran the ball all the way down the field and then threw 2x from the 2 - WTF?
  12. Why no RB on 2nd and goal at the 2?
  13. There we go! Haven't had a penalty in a while. Normalcy restored!
  14. I think that was 4 straight plays without a penalty!
  15. I thought the same thing - how was that not face masking?
  16. Will the Bills be able to run at least 50% of the remaining plays this game without a penalty?
  17. This defense is garbage.
  18. This defense is a complete liability - a FAR cry from the dominant defense Ryan thinks he has. I really don't see any reason to keep Ryan around after this season. He has proven that he can't build a defense here and he has never put together a good offense anywhere. His teams are also consistently undisciplined - as seen on that drive - how many penalties do they have already today? The argument to keep him for "continuity" simply delays the beginning of the next roster overhaul for the next coach. Ryan is not the answer and should not be here next year.
  19. I agree with this. Neither has played well, but at least Darby has continued to hustle and hit while Gilmore really seems to have decided that tackling isn't in his job description. I am feeling 2 CBs and a S in the first 4 picks this year.
  20. I think that it would be a mistake to pay him a lot to play a position that he has never played after having had a very bad season at a position that he used to excel at.
  21. Definitely, the team is running a little low on Williams. Seriously, he is a big time talent, but didn't he miss last year with a neck injury? I'd be quite worried about that.
  22. Gonna need to spend the first 2 or 3 picks in the draft to fix this defense - again. Offense needs receivers and OL help, but defense needs more help.
  23. I hate to give them an excuse, but they are missing very significant key personnel. Marcel Dareus is the biggest factor missing due to suspension and now injury, but they also didn't have #1 pick Shaq Lawson for most of the first half season and even with him back he will have to be eased in having missed all preseason and training camp. They were counting on #2 pick Reggie Ragland to help a lot and he has missed the entire season. Aaron Williams is their best safety and is key to setting up the secondary and communication within. When he has been out, things have been bad. Those are some major pieces that are missing. Add in that Stephon Gilmore appears to have checked-out and looks to be playing not to get injured and you are talking about 5 major defenders who are out or not playing well at all. I think it is pretty amazing that the defense has held up at all. Tonight's game in Seattle might be even worse with both Dareus AND his backup Corbin Bryant out.
  24. I am a little surprised at all the negativity over this move. Yes, Harvin had decided to retire and yes, he needs to be handled with kid gloves, but he is talented and this team is flat out of NFL WRs - anyone that watched the last 2 games should understand that. There was no magic trade for a good veteran WR that was realistically going to materialize, so this looks like about as good an option as they had. They did not have to give up any draft picks or players to bring Harvin back, as they would otherwise have had to do if they were to trade for a WR (and who really is available and at what price?)
  25. Not advocating to play Cardale Jones, but I don't think that I need to see any more from Tyrod Taylor to know that he is not the long term answer at QB. He is at best the 25th best starting QB in the NFL.
