  1. I understand your point, but wanted to chime in for those that don't: while Whaley did not draft any of the players that you listed, Kelsay, Schoebel and Whitner were all very good, not great players. I never understood why Chris Kelsay and Aaron Schoebel took so much heat from fans. The thing that made people unfairly hate on Whitner was that they passed on Haloti Ngata to take Whitner - dumb move, but not Whitner's fault.
  2. Hard to say drafting Watkins was a mistake. When he has been healthy, he has been outstanding. No way to predict at draft time that Watkins would be plagued by injuries. Karlos Williams was a 5th round pick who they got one year of very good production from before he self-destructed and Fred Jackson, though beloved here, was pretty much done when he left. They didn't pay Percy Harvin much - if you want to kill Whaley for missing on a mid-tier FA, I guess you can. I'll grant that EJ was a poor choice, but as you and others stated, the real damage was shying away from drafting other QBs after they took Manuel.
  3. How do you think that they could get him from the Vikings? Bridgewater is a long-shot to play next year.
  4. if they are reaching for a QB in this weak class, they should be canned. I can't see one worth picking in round one. Now, if they like someone in round 2 or 3, maybe, but 1st round QB in this draft? If there were even a half decent 1st round QB prospect in this draft, Cleveland, SF, Chicago and the Jets all need QBs and pick ahead of Bills. If a QB gets by those 4 teams that are desperate for the position, then I would be very wary of taking him.
  5. Ok, thanks. I read that he is maybe a bigger Tyrone Matthieu without the off field problems. If true, great.
  6. I don't see a QB worth a first round pick, so no in my opinion. Mike Williams does not help with Taylor being unable to throw over the middle (or accurately to the sidelines when he does throw). A safety is a necessity, so Hooker might be a possibility, but he is no game changer (IMHO). Not sure e who Adams is.
  7. How many times did the Bills have to call timeout on offense because they could not get a play off before the play clock expired?
  8. Who do you see there? I don't think a WR, though certainly a need, helps this team if Taylor is playing QB. I like Tyrod, but he is not a good enough passer that a WR helps much.
  9. So, who do you see that will be available that will help much?
  10. I know it is early, but that pick is too late to get get a true difference maker. No QB that I can see, need defense and big WR, yet I don't see a dominant defender available there and a big WR is a waste without a better passer than Taylor next year.
  11. I can agree with you on that. It was a HUGE mistake to fire Polian. Get his draft record in Indy was pretty bad.
  12. Watson is just a cheaper version of Taylor, if you can get him in 3rd round or later. Maybe OK if you don't pick up Tyrod's option, it not likely a long term answer- at least to my eyes.
  13. There are no good NFL QB prospects in this draft that I can identify. Any high pick spent on a QB this year is a hope/prayer and a missed opportunity on another position- and clearly there are lots of needs on D and other areas (WR, OT).
  14. No, we know that he can coach a very very talented Seahawk defense. We don't have much evidence that he can coach a bad defense into being good.
  15. Being done with EJ (and most rational people would agree) is entirely different than thinking that Cardale Jones is anything but a long-shot to become a NFL QB.
  16. I am not sure that the DL is in good shape. Hughes didn't play well this year, Kyle Williams may retire out of frustration and Marcel Dareus is, at best, untrustworthy.
  17. I think that your blind defense of Jones is as irrational as those of us (including me) that said that EJ just needed more time. I look at Jones as a QB with a phenomenal arm, but no idea what he is doing. I think that EJ tried very hard to learn what he needed to do, but was undone by his inability to learn how to throw accurately. I wanted EJ to succeed, but clearly he can't throw accurately unless his feet are completely set. When I look at Jones, I see a guy who didn't buy-in to learning how to play QB in college, but who can make an occasional great play with his arm - certainly some of that is an innate skill beyond just having a strong arm. I think Jones is a 3rd string QB with great physical tools and some innate ability to make plays, but a questionable work-ethic and significant lack of experience coming from college. I'd keep Jones and hope that I win the lottery, but in no universe do I consider rolling into next season counting on him to be the starter, unless my aim is to get the #1 pick in the 2018 NFL draft.
  18. My concern is that the team back-slid considerably in that one game audition. If you can blame all of that on Manuel, then MAYBE ok, but that was about as ugly a game as I can remember since I started paying attention in about 1969.
  19. I can't believe that you are defending his statement.
  20. Man, I agree with the person that criticized you. Your statement was as insensitive as they come. I hope that you can blame your insensitivity on either being very young or drunk/high.
  21. 1. EJ Manuel, though a try-hard guy, is not a competent NFL backup QB. 2. Cardale Jones is NOWHERE near ready to play QB in the NFL and offseason "study" is not going to make him ready. 3. Tyrod Taylor carried this offense all season, but he really isn't likely to be the long-term answer either. 4. Anthony Lynn presided over the ugliest game played by a Bills team in several years and he should be removed from consideration as a coaching candidate. That was abysmal - totally unprepared and no signs of anything different than under Rex (maybe worse). 5. There are a TON of problems on defense. With what looks like a very weak QB draft class, I could justify spending all picks on defense.
  22. Hard to see Lynn getting any interviews after that poop fest. I know you can't turn an ocean liner around on a dime, but they looked worse today than at any point under Rex - and he was bad
  23. If they hire Lynn after this, then Whaley should be immediately fired and the next GM should relieve Lynn immediately
  24. I hope one and done, as in one game and done. This is Hank Bullough embarrassing
