I don't hate the idea of Taylor being the Bills' starter next year, but I don't love it either.
I don't think that the Bills rushing offense would have been as good without the running threat that Taylor provides on every play. Defenses have to account for Taylor running on any given play making it easier for McCoy and Gillislee to find openings. Taylor deserves credit for that.
It could be argued that, in addition to his passing yards per game, you should consider Taylor's rushing yards and additional yards that RBs get because of Taylor's running threat. In that light, Taylor is competent.
It can also be argued that Taylor's passing game was severely limited for most of the season without Watkins, Woods and Clay not playing well till year end.
On the other hand, it is hard to look at Taylor and think that he is a good NFL passer.
Big decision with the money due for next 3 years.
