For all the whining, indignation and hand wringing about trading 2 5th round picks, where are those guys now? Bills just picked and have another 5th in a bit.
Man, a bunch of 5th rounders are not likely to allow you to "field a quality roster for years to come". If you have 4 5th rounders, statistically you'll be lucky to get one starter
According to Ourlads' draft guide:
6'4" 317 "A bully on the field who will put defenders through the ground. Derives a ton of power from his lower body... Rarely gets moved backwards. Can maintain his balance on the move in space. Has a natural and always present level of power that you simply cannot teach. His future is likely at OG or RT. If his technique continues to improve, he is a quality starter with some dominant traits."
Ourlads draft guide says: "incredible competitor with a high motor and character who plays the full 60 minute game with unrelenting effort. Incredibly consistent tough. Football player who loves playing the game."
To say he was productive is an understatement - 158 catches, 1746 yards LAST SEASON
To get to the top of the round would cost approximately their 2nd and the 3rd that they picked up from KC
Blokes, Bandit, Gunner:
Who do you like in the 2nd?
I think these guys might fit the Bills' new character/skill/want-to requirements well:
S Budda Baker
LB Ryan Anderson
S Marcus Williams
CB/S Desmond King
CB Quincy Wilson LB Carl Lawson
DL DeMarcus Walker
DL Chris Wormley
DE Jordan Willis
WR Cooper Kupp
I think guys with off-field issues like Tim Williams and Cam Robinson won't be considerations for this team.
I think that Kizer has much more experience and more likely to succeed than Cardale Jones. I would of be surprised if he snuck into late 1st, but would be very surprised if he lasts beyond 2nd
he has been covering the Bills for 25 years - miserably. He has found the sports "journalist" "fountain of forever" - just offer a "front-office sucks"for <insert franchise here> article 2-3 times a week without any real research. If that does not suffice, then write that Sabres GM/coach or Bills' GM or coach should be fired because, like 26 of 32 NFL franchises, The Bills are not much different than the majority of other franchises. It takes a LOT of luck to find a franchise QB. Either your team is AWFUL and has a very early pick -AND- there is an outstanding prospect available -OR- you get REALLY lucky and stumble onto a Tom Brady or Russel Wilson in later rounds.
