  1. Whatever caused Foster to drop was significant enough for many teams to pass on him. I don't know if it was solely character or if their might have been an injury concern as well. There were also some suggestions that he struggled learning the play book
  2. I don't think that they are specifically looking for Boy Scouts and valedictorians, but rather players who are dedicated to being their best and are at least smart enough to learn the play book. I don't think that rules out too many guys. As someone else suggested, they want professionals, not guys who need to be babysat. They are trying to take a step towards the "Patriot way" and I think it makes sense. They got reasonably smart versatile players who have "want to".
  3. Because he played LT for 3 years in college and he has 35" arms. The main reason many project him to OG is that he is 6'4" not 6'6".
  4. Well, That is for SURE! Look how long Shoop has been on the radio here. He is an absolutely obnoxious jerk on the radio and he talks like he is smarter than those he criticizes, yet he really knows very little about football for a sports talk host in A NFL city. Some of his "analytics" disciples are here spouting how every NFL coach is an idiot for punting on 4th down and talking about late round draft picks as "draft capital" as if they are more valuable than gold. "Hey, Bellichick has sometimes traded back in the draft, so it is stupid to do otherwise." Yet if pressed to identify any significant wonder of a player that he acquired by doing that. Schoop used to be here in Rochester and he called his show "Sports Talk For Smart People".
  5. Agreed: Manning, Brady and Brees never had really great arm strength, but they somehow were OK.
  6. Sullivan is STEALING money getting paid for his mindless negative drivel. I won't even click his links anymore. Every article is: "this team <select Bills or Sabres> is hopeless. <GM or Coach> should be fired. Everything just sucks and nobody is competent. I don't need to research the situation to understand why certain decisions were made. My superior powers of extreme negativism will carry me over. My analysis is that they suck, but don't ask me to analyze why or how to improve the situation beyond firing whomever is currently in charge."
  7. Taking a shot on him getting healthy and hoping for what he flashed two years ago. This is the kind of pick that happens this late in the draft - players with some redeemable quality and hope they can be good special teamers and decent depth.
  8. Moving him to OL - has a great hand punch
  9. OK, kind of like the pick. I don't hold out a lot of hope for Cardale Jones, would not at all be surprised if Peterman beats him out.
  10. Is Hodges still around? Athletic for sure!
  11. I don't like Kelly much, but will agree he'd have been picked well before now if not for the off field issues and injuries
  12. But this guy is considerably faster and is supposed to be a great STer
  13. For all the whining, indignation and hand wringing about trading 2 5th round picks, where are those guys now? Bills just picked and have another 5th in a bit.
  14. Matt Milano 6' 215, supposedly a LB, special teams guy with maybe a Bryan Scott kind of role on D.
  15. Man, a bunch of 5th rounders are not likely to allow you to "field a quality roster for years to come". If you have 4 5th rounders, statistically you'll be lucky to get one starter
  16. According to Ourlads' draft guide: 6'4" 317 "A bully on the field who will put defenders through the ground. Derives a ton of power from his lower body... Rarely gets moved backwards. Can maintain his balance on the move in space. Has a natural and always present level of power that you simply cannot teach. His future is likely at OG or RT. If his technique continues to improve, he is a quality starter with some dominant traits."
  17. Who are they after with this trade up????
  18. The 5 & 12 pick in round 5 could just about get you a mid 4th
  19. Yes, that is correct. They have their own, the Rams', NEs' and Cowboys'. 5, 12, 19, 28 in fifth round
  20. It is actually really a 5th not a 4th. Oh the misery!
  21. Agreed. If Woods could have stayed healthy and had a better QB, he could have been very good
  22. Ourlads draft guide says: "incredible competitor with a high motor and character who plays the full 60 minute game with unrelenting effort. Incredibly consistent tough. Football player who loves playing the game." To say he was productive is an understatement - 158 catches, 1746 yards LAST SEASON
  23. Dude, is there ANYTHING that you would like?
  24. OK for me, now have 4 5th rounders - right? Gotta use two of them to get back into round 4, I'd think
