  1. Just for context, EJ Manuel completed 10 of 12 passes last week
  2. Trying to to give Tyrod some confidence
  3. As soon as McCoy gets hurt, we'll be making the Jets' tank-job look weak!
  4. Disagree- trades make even more sense with this offensive display. Anyone who thinks this was a playoff contender before the trades should get me the name of their dealer!
  5. Agreed - looking like a Rex team still, but I expect McDermott to get the penalties under control.
  6. Could be a long season forcing Bills to pick a QB early. Tyrod is not looking good.
  7. Hope to see: - Peterman look solid with 2nd team - stay poised, more timing passes and throws over the middle. - Jonathan Williams has another good game - a few nice catches from Zay Jones - some progress from Reggie Ragland who showed a few flashes last week - more from Daikiel Shorts (sp) - had a couple nice catches last week - continued good play from Eddie Yarborough - good games from Dion Dawkins and Sentrel Henderson - someone to step up in the secondary and LBs
  8. First, Alex Smith hasn't gotten KC a playoff win and they have a much better defense than Bills will this year. More important, Alex Smith is old and near the end of the line. Why would a Bills team that isn't likely to compete for a playoff spot need to add an OK old QB nearing the end of his career?
  9. Word! He would have been tremendous. I hadn't seen your post and independently listed Butler.
  10. With a Bills spin, I will say that Jerry Butler could have been in the conversation if had could have remained healthy. He was amazing early in his career. Calvin Johnson, Lynn Swann, Jerry Rice and Odell Beckham have all really impressed me. I still have reverence for Bobby Chandler and Fred Biletnikoff as consummate great-hands guys.
  11. I could be happy with a trade of Taylor (who'm I have a lot of respect for). However, I can't see any teams that would be willing to trade more than a fifth round pick for the marginal starter. Until he proves that he can throw timing passes and passes over the middle, his trade value is low.
  12. I am with you. It has become the way to get noticed as a "reporter" and it is awful to listen to. I feel the momentum building and it seems like we could be in for more "reporters" racing to tweet snarky comments about every incomplete pass that Yates throws in practice.
  13. Enthusiasm duely tempered as it was late in preseason game 1 with and against guys who will be looking for jobs soon, but Peterman acquitted himself well in his first outing. He threw some passes over the middle and threw some timing passes. He looked pretty poised for his first game action. Let's see how he does the remainder of the preseason. For now, optimism with lots of grains of salt.
  14. Well, thank goodness that you are here to "not excuse" such poor decisions! You and all of your credentials should hold everyone "accountable" until someone gets this team right!
  15. I did not say that those players lacked that kind of character. The Watkin's trade is simple to explain: they were not willing to commit to the money that it would take to re-sign him after this season. That is why the trade was made. The Darby trade is a little harder for me to explain. I don't think that they had a reason to want to ship Darby out. I guess that they wanted Mathews and the 3rd round pick.
  16. I don't understand your logic saying that they traded for guys on expiring contracts. How does that help anything? Losing two guys that you didn't have before doesn't create cap space magically. If they wanted to create cap space they would have just taken the draft choices and not required Mathews or Gaines be part of the deal.
  17. You are misunderstanding the character that they are talking about. They are talking about dedicated, smart, hard working team oriented players that do have talent - maybe not quite as much talent as some less dedicated players, but not a wide gap. Nobody said anything about nice. I like the type of team that they are trying to establish - it should set them up well if they finally can find a top 1/3 of the league QB.
  18. For sure, they are an injury at S, CB or LB from having a dreadful defense. If they lose a player at both S and CB, the air raid sirens will be sounding every Sunday.
  19. I agree, but 6-10 won't be quite bad enough to be in good draft position. I don't think that Taylor is a good long term option at QB, but he can probably scramble his way to a couple wins that they should not get.
  20. Do you mean like they didn't package picks to move up for Zay Jones and the same for Dion Dawkins?
  21. In order to trade up, some team ahead of them in the draft order would have to be willing to trade down. Cleveland, SF, and the Jets are not going to trade away a shot to get a QB.
