  1. Yea, fans have to get over where he was drafted. He's a decent player. He will look better with better people around him.
  2. What adjustment would you like them to make? Is Chris Kelsay going to be able to cover anybody? Are the DE going to be able to set the edge? Is Kyle Williams going to get bigger somehow? Is Torber going to morph into an all pro? Last year people were screaming for Fewell to get the axe for a good while. The coach can't make the players do things they are not capable of doing. They need better players.
  3. Wrong. The draft is how any successful team is built. Check the rosters of the Patriots, Steelers, Colts, Ravens, Packers, Chargers and see how much of their rosters are draft picks. They will have more draft picks than FA's as part of their core talent. Free Agency is a two way street. A player has to agree to come to a team. What FA is out there this coming March that the Bills should go after? Or I should say what FA is out there that will be an impact player. If Nate Clements was a 49er should the Bills have offered him 88 mil? Have to be smart about FA. And the draft is the most important thing any organization has to build their team.
  4. You do realize that GM's do go on scouting trips right? They do it especially in the off season at the the various all-star games, combines and personal workouts at various colleges. During a bye week it's not out of the realm of probability. Being negative about coaching or playing is one thing. Being negative about something that is standard operating procedure is a waste of time and you sound crazy. It's good he's going to look at the QB's he's interested in for himself since the bust rate is high with QB's in the top 10. And in the off season he would be going to the workouts of all of these QB's anyway.
  5. I agree because at this point there is nobody in front of him that is doing any better than he would. But here's my take: there is nothing Maybin can do to get on the field. I don't believe Gailey likes him in general as a player. Gailey and Nix did not draft him. They have no loyalty to him. He might be out the door after this season as part of a trade possibly.
  6. You have to look at the big picture and not just view the move in a vacuum. Evans is a good player. In three years he will be 32 and they will be drafting his replacement around then. Actually, Easley might have already been that draft pick. The Bills are rebuilding, want to do it through the draft and need as many draft picks as they can get. Evans is an asset that can get them something. By the time they are ready to seriously compete Evans might not even be the best option at WR anyway. They need several LB's, a DE or two and Offensive linemen. All of those things trump having a good receiver on the roster who might or might not get a pass thrown his way.
  7. The new CBA will have a rookie wage scale. The money won't be the same for the top 10 players as it has been in the past. And if there is a lockout no contracts will be signed until there is a new CBA anyway. Bills should trade out of that spot if they can pick up the extra picks it would take a team to move up. They need a lot of picks.
  8. Our front 7 is an urgent concern regardless if they draft a QB. If they draft a QB it stays an urgent concern.
  9. Why not now? They wanted to run the 3-4 so at some point they were going to have to go through this transition. Even drafting players who "fit" the system those players will have to get used to playing it at the professional level. So no time to switch like the present.
  10. Perry Fewell's Tampa 2 had many warts last season. The Bills were horrible against the run last season and they still are. The constant is the personnel on the field. The switch to the 3-4 was not in vain because that is the system the coach wants to run. So they have to get the right players to run that system. Players have to get experience playing in that system. If you wanted a great defense to pop out of geenie bottle then this switch will cause you to make the statement you did. Down the line the switch will be fine if they get the players. Perry Fewell is a good DC. I liked him in Buffalo. His defense is doing well in NYC because they have a thing called TALENT. Give the Bills the Giants defense and they will be good too. The Bills have nobody in their front 7 who is better than the Giants players.
  11. 1. George Edwards can only work with the talent on hand. The Bills defense was horrible against the run last year too. Everybody was pissed off at Fewell. He's doing well in NYC with some talent. Coaches are needed. PLAYERS are essential. Why do you think another coach can make them stop the run better or make people able to rush the passer who have shown no proclivity for doing it? 2. New regime needs to see things for themselves. That's what they do. They didn't want to trade Schobel because he was a player that could have helped them. Schobel didn't really want to play anyway. He was talking retirment. Other teams know that. Nobody was going to trade for a guy who isn't participating because he's considering retiring. Besides that you can't turn over the number of roster spots that the Bills will need to turn over to become a good team in one season. They cut Kelsay and bring in who? They signed Torbor. They signed Ayodele. They are no better than Kelsay. That's what happens when you need to get bargain FA's to fill out a roster. Teams need to scout and draft well in order to build a contending team. See Colts, Steelers, Ravens, Eagles, Packers as examples of this philosophy. Even if they don't make the playoffs a particular season they are in serious contention. 3. Spiller was not drafted just for this season. He was drafted for the future. They did need an explosive playmaker on offense. The Bills can use the picks next April for the same purpose. This is not a short fix situation. We have Spiller. Next April they can continue to draft for impact. QB, LB's etc...
  12. Lynch's teammates loved him. Where do you get team chemistry was a problem. The Bills need the right players who also happen to be extremely talented. Hard worker doesn't mean successful. Kelsay is a hard worker. Ryan Denney was a hard worker. Whitner is a hard worker. We need impact players.
  13. I live in L.A. They haven't built a thing yet. And there is another group trying to get a stadium built downtown and are competing with City of Industry. This is what has been happening in L.A. since the Raiders left. One group thinks they have something going then other groups pop out of the woodwork and eventually NOTHING HAPPENS. No stadium is built and the existing ones are raggedy, old and not NFL caliber. Bills ain't moving to L.A. any time soon.
  14. Says who? He never said that. I don't think he had a problem with Buffalo. I think he had a problem with some people in Buffalo who won't let things go. There is a difference.
  15. They don't need to draft a RB unless they see one they want. Jax is a good player. Spiller is the future. RB's are not hard to find. RB's with Spiller's explosion are hard to find. I wish they could have gotten more for him, but that wasn't going to be the case. People act like Nix turned down a great deal for the Seattle deal. If he took the Seattle deal it was the best one he could get. They took what they could and moved on. No reason to whine about this. They are rebuilding. Draft picks are gold. Lynch might not be the last player to move. I'm sorry to see him go, but it is what is.
  16. You have a team to watch. He's philanthropic in the community. He speaks well of the city and it's people. I understand your frustration. But Mr. Wilson could have moved that team years ago and made a lot more money. He might not make good decisions, but the Buffalo Bills exist. I want more out of the team too, but we have to keep things in perspective at the same time.
  17. You don't know what's being said. I'm sure he's responding to something beyond the pale. If you read the message boards on any website these days you see the sheer ignorance out in the world. People always manage to go way over the line. People can "contact" him on twitter. That's their right. He is within his right to be pissed off.
  18. Reading is fundamental. Where in his post did he say how great he was. Talley is on the wall of fame for a reason. He is up for consideration for the pro football hall of fame for a reason. No player plays well every game. Or plays perfectly ever. He was a great player for the Bills though. And there is no one on this Bills team who can even be mentioned in the same sentence as a player or a leader. He got it done more than he didn't. Your post is what's not getting it done.
  19. Who cares?? They played like bums and did get whupped. They deserve what they get. And Tim Graham of all the mofo's in the world doesn't need to act like he has a heart. He dogs the Bills every chance he gets.
  20. The 4-3 wasn't all that great either. There is no reason to scrap the 3-4. The players make the defense not the alignment. If Talley and Biscuit were playing OLB you would love this 3-4. Whatever defense they play will be sub-par because that's the type of players they have. That's what needs to change. The players.
  21. It's one game. See how he does the rest of the season before thinking of Jim Kelly.
  22. I've been saying the same thing. People are just used to being down on Bell based on last season. This season he looks like a totally different player. He's not an all-pro, but he has shown tremendous improvement. He might actually turn out to be something. Our interior O-line has its' issues; they have tlent, but they are no better than Bell so far in the grand scheme. People mistake attitude for results. All they need to do is watch the games with a truthful eye.
  23. You can't be watching the games and make that statement.
