I watched the early false start call on Glenn at least 4X and feel it was a terrible call by the refs. Another point is the inconsistency of the pass interference calls. Stevie is getting mugged out there & no calls yet we get called for it just for breathing on the receivers.
Can't help but to question if there is more to the story than they are letting out. Did he get hurt again?
I still feel that he would have been better as a pass rushing DE than a OLB in a 4/3.
I hope he doesn't end up in our division. He was a big contributor to our win over NE* last year.
I feel that A Williams has a bad game against Minn. But so did a lot of other Def players. I still feel our LB group needs a LOT of work. They have been terrible so far this year. I wasn't a big fan of Barnett when we got him but he won me over last year. This year he seems slow & out of shape on the field. All of our LBs seem out of position at times so that tells me it is a coaching issue.
Come on Buffalo, let's get this straightened out now - before week one.
So far I see White out-performing Choice but to be fair we should have White run with the first 2 strings & then have Choice run against the 3-4's and then see how they look. Choice looked poor in preseason game 1.
I also feel that we need to take a closer look at Donald Jones as a WR on the bubble. That kid drops way more than he catches.
We should also try to keep Brad Smith for this season. I have a feelin that I'd we let him go, the Jets will try to get him back.
I for one am glad that we used the game to evaluate players instead of playing to win. We have a lot of tough decisions to make to get the roster down to size & the last thing we want is to cut the wrong players.
Remind me again - how many sacks did we get in the first half? The coaches have a lot of work to do with our front 7.
I hope to see VY with the second team next week instead of TT.
Here is a win - win scenario. Maybin earns a claim to fame by ending Brady's career. Maybin would be famous, Brady would be done & NE would forever hate & demolish the Jets. That way Buffalo doesn't have to do it.
It is typical to move bubble players up on the depth chart for the first preseason game or 2
To give them a quality chance to either step-up or give them enough rope to hang themselves. I am still confident that players like Easley & V Young will still move up on the depth chart by the 3rd or 4th preseason games.
My primary concern is that I would like to see our ST be a little more exciting with more trick plays. I was little upset last year because they were too conservative but now looking back I can see that they might have been playing it basic for a reason.
