  1. I think this is right and a perfectly reasonable take on this situation.
  2. This guy is a second rate journalist. What in the world would qualify him to make a determination on NFL talent.
  3. I actually think being a cop is a pretty serious, no-nonsense job.
  4. Are you trolling? There's a strong dose of irony in your post.
  5. I'm convinced that having watched the Bills for so long, much of this fan base is incapable of recognizing good football.
  6. Are you serious? Have you seen him this year? Dropped 10-15 lbs before the season, is phenomenal in coverage, true sideline to sideline tackler. I have not seen a single concern raised about his ability to play in space.
  7. Who cares about the weather... we're a SMASHMOUTH team now. (only half-kidding)
  8. This is my biggest concern with this team and I think it also has to do with why a lot of us were hoping for a WR early in the draft. Personally, I thought the difference between Michael Floyd and our second WR (call it Donald Jones) was a lot greater than the difference between Gilmore and Drayton Florence. However, I'm afraid that philosophical rigidity and an unwavering commitment to the horizontal passing game played a part in the Bills waiting on WR at the draft. Sure, they tried to bring in Meacham, but when that didn't work out, they didn't do much else to get better at WR. My fear is that the coaching staff does not see the need for a big bodied, physical, vertical passing threat in this offense. I'm really worried that Chan thinks that he can scheme around the talent deficiencies at WR and find quicker route runners to fit his scheme. But, I think that scheme only works to an extent. In the NFL there's too much talent for a single scheme to dominate for a long period of time as all teams will adjust. You have to have good players that can create mismatches. Right now, I see a very one-dimensional passing game, and I don't see the talent on the roster to adjust.
  9. So who gets to be the smarta$$ that revives this thread to poke fun at all of our excitement the first game that Mario doesn't record 12 sacks... (FWIW, I'm predicting the first time that this will occur will be somewhere around week 8 or 9, and he'll probably have 10 or 11 in that game)
  10. Cordy Glenn.... The second coming of Howard "House" Ballard. Good to hear that the coaches are keeping on him. If he looks pretty good, and they want more, it means the kid's ceiling must be pretty damned high and they're going to push him to get there.
  11. Interestingly, pretty exhaustive modeling and projections run by Football Outsiders tabbed the Bills at second in the division with 9.7 wins and a 57% chance of making the playoffs. Not bad. Here's the link. It's ESPN Insider, but I think you might all be able to see the AFC East projection as it's featured at the top. Projecting every division winner for the 2012 season
  12. I know it's just the internet, and even more so it's the off-season, but what an unbelievable piece of crap article. What was the point? I'd expect something like that from Bleacher Report, but CBS Sports? For real? Not sure I'd wipe my butt with that one.
  13. Landry's really got his work cut out for him this year with the suspension or transfer of three of his top four targets. Kameel Jackson is transferring to Texas A&M, Jaz Reynolds was suspended 7 games, and Trey Franks was suspended for the year. We'll really see what he's made of this year. I don't expect him to flourish. He lost steam last year with Broyles out but atleast had the aforementioned three plus Kenny Stills. This year, all he has is Stills (which is a big help), Dejuan Miller, and some inexperienced youth. Jaz Reynolds, in particular, was supposed to breakout this year.
