  1. ok, call me crazy or whatever, but I think that a good trade involving Lynch is a straight up trade with SD for Merriman, contingent on a sign and trade. They both have issues, so thats a wash, merriman has 1 yr left, so he would have to extend to make this work, but both are highly talented, SD needs a RB if LT is gone, b/c sproles isnt a 3 down player, lynch can fill that role, we need a guy like merriman who still has a lot left in the tank, plus he can help teach maybin the role of OLB. I honestly think this is an even trade, and one that could realistically happen. just a thought
  2. ILB: poz, mitchell, Micah johnson (rookie, kentucky) OLB: maybin, schoebel, possibly merriman, but I wouldnt count on it
  3. with 1 yr maybe 2 left on his deal he will want huge money to extend, or he could just bolt when his contract is up, so trading a high value pick for a guy that may only be here 1-2 yrs is a bad idea, IMO, if we did make a move for him, he has to extend the deal first
  4. those articles with rex ryan are so funny, and tawmey from quinzee is hilarious too
  5. in pro golf there is no cart allowed, so its an endurance issue as well, walking 18 holes, plus playing the game itself, usually in hot and humid temp., combine it all, it is a sport
  6. why not just give the young guys we have a shot. plus stallworth is still under contract with cleveland.
  7. I've said before that the spread is a different variation on the west coast offense, but essentially very much the same. In terms of college qb's, If this regime wants to be a spread/WC offense, then you should be targeting guys that 1: have experience in the system, and have proven they have the ability to run it. or 2: are able to learn it, Brohm didnt pick up the system in GB very well, but he ran a spread at louisville, so there must be a difference in language or complexity or something, but a guy like Claussen, or Lefevour would be great for these systems or even bradford. So would thigpin or even troy smith I think would be good in this style offense, the guys I don't want are guys like pennington, vick, Mccoy, Tebow for various reasons.
  8. you are right, Gailey never ran the pistol with those players, HE RAN THE PISTOL WITH TYLER THIGPIN, a version of the spread offense that utilizes thigpins limited talents.
  9. the covers 2 should still be used in the secondary, it'll be the front 7 that changes, more pressure, should equal even more plays by the secondary
  10. no, what he is saying is that spread qb's don't need a big arm as much as they need to be quick decision makers, and good at the intermediate routes, thats why colleges have started running spreads, 5 star recruits are NOT a dime a dozen. Moving the chains is how it works, as long as the qb has an average arm, and makes the right reads it works, its easier to take a guy with decent arm and smart and make him a spread guy than it is to roll the dice on every big arm qb that comes down the pike and hope he works out.
  11. Interesting thought how effective smith could be in the pistol that gailey runs.
  12. 34-28 saints Manning chokes in the comeback effort, pulls a favre, saints int, game over
  13. Gailey ran the spread in KC with thigpin right? Lefevour ran the spread at CMU right? Thigpin and Lefevour have a similiar playing style from what I can tell, plus you throw in brohm, I dont see why you dont thin k lefevour would be a fit for buffalo, and what are Nixs' approved QB attributes?
  14. Baluga and campbell are the 2 best bets in this draft, I would love to trade back somehow, maybe with san fran, and get dan williams and bruce campbell
  15. If the spread is installed, look for lefevour to get the call on draft day, or we could try for thigpin, realistically, we could even let brohm run it. I like the idea of installing spread packages, keeps defenses on their toes
  16. the kids coach told kiffin about the kid, its not like he's combing middle schoolers looking for the pop warner version of Lebron, give the guy a break
  17. kid looked awesome in the video
  18. i just tried the sample wonderlic, got a 40, still I fail to see the bearing that test has for a cornerback, or a DL, for example
  19. But what if the eagles change their mind, i think there is clearly sooooo much left to discuss on this topic
  20. personal interviews mean more than the wonderlic, a lot of these guys dont give a hoot about that test, they int. with teams, show their physical talents, and still get drafted, that test is fairly pointless for a lot of positions
  21. Those scores aren't supposed to be released, If I were to guess, I'd say Cincinatti, or syracuse, or maybe rutgers might have the worst this year Its also entirely possible that some guys just dont care about the wonderlic
  22. more than anything, yeah its about the dogs. but also, i dont think hes the type that would be a good mentor for a young qb, which we will inevitably have to acquire.
  23. sounds like thigpen, brohm, and Lefevour will be it for us this year, btw, thigpin would be a good teacher for Lefevour, if anybody. IMO, those 3 are STILL BETTER THAN VICK.
  24. Cautiously Optimistic is where I'm coming from, but I agree that this staff is put together well, lots of experience
  25. thats a terrible argument, it doesnt matter where they came from as lineman, their not handling the ball, if you eliminate the best talent pool in the nation from your drafting you are setting yourself up for failure
