That's a good point, in comparison, dan williams from UT had 56 tackles this year. I suppose no body ran at cody, that could explain the lack of tackles, but I'm getting a bad vibe from him so far, IDK, I think I like williams better, or cam thomas.

im getting less and less impressed with cody the more I hear about him, fat, lazy, disruptive yes, but only 12 tackles for the season, and only a 2 down player.

I don't think Maybins career was ever in jeopardy, but a move to 3-4 could def help him get on the field and make a bigger impact. He now has an entire offseason to learn the position, and how to translate his pass rushing skills to OLB, He better work his butt off and crack the starting lineup, If he cant get on the field in this defense then we got a huge problem

Just took a quick look at the prospects for NT draftwise, other than cody, theres cam thomas, UNC, and dan williams, UT I honestly don't know much about either of them. Looking at the scouting report on williams, he seems to be a good fit, flexible in the 4-3 and 3-4, not much of a pass rusher, but has good power and had 8.5 TFL this year. Apparently, all 3 top DT/NT could be around in the 2nd. BTW, Cody only had 12 tackles last yr. I didnt realize this, but its certainly a worriesome stat.

i'd prefer to see what hardy and johnson can do in OTA's and camp instead of bringing in a guy like chambers, I think buddy and chan are committed to building this team, and signing a bunch of FA's like chambers is counterproductive to that goal. evans, hardy, johnson, price(ohio), maybe a FA, but I think you have to see what the youngsters have.

Being able to throw the deep ball ACCURATELY is what backs up a defense, Losman didn't scare anybody unless Lee beat the coverage, because losman couldn't put it in a basket the way a drew brees can. IMO, Lefevour can throw that ball, as evidenced by the TD throw in the senior bowl, Like I said, I want to watch the combine to get a better idea of where these guys are, and also, I think in reality, this is a weak class overall, mostly project guys, and among them I believe Lefevour is the best among them.

yes, we could go wrong by signing both, and mortgaging the future on the present. Porter is on the downside, and is high priced, vick has spotty accuracy, is over 30, and would only hold back any young players we bring in, NO to both, build the team the right way, signing those two would be very DONAHOESQUE

yes it was in Alabama, and it got into the 30's. Contrary to common WNY belief, it does get cold down there, hell it even snows every now and then. Try not to blow a gasket comprehending that lil'bit of info.

Its a recipe for failure if you insist on playing old school football, trying to always throw it deep (Al Davis), if you play a modern style offense like a spread hybrid west coast offense, you don't need a guy with a "big arm", which is a very OVERRATED aspect of playing qb. In terms of Lefevour, he has showed good velocity on the short and intermediate passes, and in the senior bowl threw 1 decent and 1 very good ball downfield, in a cold and somewhat windy environment. I think most people here really overestimate how often the average team throws it downfield, and by that I mean the qb throws it 30 plus yards in the air. Last time I looked the av. 30+ yd/gm avg is about 2-4 times a game successfully, most ov the other long plays go around 15-25 yds, and the RAC gets the TD. I, for 1, am very anxious to see the combine to see all the Qb's throw all the routes, that is if the top 2 throw.
