It may be best, if we did take him, to have him learn under fire, but I don't like the idea.

it's not difficult to identify the issues with each QB 1) Clausen: easily the most ready, however, sloppy footwork will get him in trouble, doesn't sell play-action, questionable pocket awareness. This might be an issue going to a team (top 10) with a questionable offensive line. 2) Bradford: How's his shoulder doin, lack of under center experience, needs to add bulk, decent arm, but no clue how he throws on the run, needs a big combine to get high in draft. 3)Mccoy: weak arm, mobility doesn't translate to NFL, floats deep balls, never played under center, etc 4) Tebow: Absolutely horrendous footwork, Plays in run-option offense, Doesn't throw smooth ball; bad touch,Inaccurate on intermediate routes, Extremely long release,Very bad passing mechanics,Locks onto primary receiver, No pro reads in offense 5)Pike: Extremely weak arm, floats the deep ball, statue in the pocket, cant evade rush, needs to bulk up A LOT, very limited skill set 6) Snead: questionable ability to read defenses, poor accuracy, bad footwork 7) Lefevour: decent arm strength, but not alot of zip on intermediate throws, played in spread ie lack of under center expereince The point is they all got issues, so I personally wouldn't waste a top pick on anybody but Clausen, and even him, I wouldnt start yr 1

Again, tebow is a great character guy, but his skills are not refined enough to be a day one pick, certainly he will not play within the first 3 yrs, and in the end he is a LONG TERM project/gimmick qb. Every QB in this draft class has a MAJOR concern, the best is probably Clausen, but NONE of them are worthy of a top 5 pick IMO.
-
tebow is a great kid, but he is not a day one talent, he has alot to work on and NOBODY, not any team should pick him before round 3. There are far too many holes in his game to warrant anything higher than rd 3, and thats being generous, same can be said for Mccoy, and pretty much every other qb in this draft, sans clausen. This crop just doesnt have that much pure talent, they are all projects.

Yeah arm strength can be improved also, the right work out regimen can fix it.

David Garrard to the Pro Bowl?
CarolinaBill replied to Kingfish's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yup, awesome idea by Goodell, its all 3rd and 4th choices, even 5th choices, great idea. I know I can't wait for the Detroit Pro Bowl. Next up on Goodell's list of dumb things to do, a Super Bowl in London/Mexico -
from all the info i've seen, the only legit qb's in this draft are clausen and Lefevour

i found this: Tony Pike Scouting Report By Matt McGuire # Strengths: Good height; can comfortably see over line # Very quick decision-maker # Great football intelligence # Nice touch on the football; clean spiral # Has an adequate sixth sense for pass rush # Takes what the defense gives him; doesn't force throws # Solid accuracy down the field # Absolutely outstanding timing; throws ball before receiver even gets into break # Good character Weaknesses: # Lacks some bulk in his body frame # Extremely weak arm strength # Lacks agility and athleticism; can't evade a pass rush # Somewhat of a statue in the pocket # Floats deep ball a little too much # Not a very good passer on the run # Throws difficult routes - but with unimpressive velocity/talent # Highly limited skill set # Competitiveness hasn't been tested yet # Older than the average prospect (will be a 24-year-old rookie) Summary: Pike projects strictly as a career backup in the NFL. He simply doesn't possess even an average arm to be a starter. Pike can be somewhat reliable since he makes great decisions and is highly intelligent, but he lacks a lot of talent, and you can't coach talent. I project Pike to come off the board between the third and fifth rounds. Player Comparison: Todd Collins. Collins has a weak arm, but is an extremely smart quarterback and a reliable backup.

Leslie Frazier could have been a good coach
CarolinaBill replied to bluv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yeah we SHOULD'VE waited for frazier, cause he WOULD'VE been better than Chan, and we COULD'VE done better blah, blah, blah, Chan has gotten his teah to the playoffs 11 out of 15 tries, get off his back and give him a shot -
I could care less about a post count, unlike some people around here, I dont put any stock in post counts, just cause you have a few thousand comments doesnt mean you're not a jerk, or wrong, or being over sensitive. I dont like bradford, I stated why, then threw in a little joke, and you people make a huge deal about it, just move on

It was still a very nice show tonight, she deserved the help, and they helped the entire community -
And its my opinion that you and many others here are over sensitive f@ggots, that cant take a joke.
-
Right, I am entitled to MY OPINION, it doesnt have to be right, and you dont have to agree with me. and to be honest it was a joke because Bradford is a Native American, ok there, I made alcoholic Indian joke, now everyone can flame away and say what a bad person I am for making a simple joke. Grow up and stop being so sensitive, jesus.

This a really good episode, the poor woman was ripped off by some WNY scumbag, now she's finally getting the home she deserved, and they are helping the whole neighborhood. It's nice to see some people doing good, not just whining and complaining, and being nasty to others. -
I haven't noticed that, besides, thats a habit that can be changed Go Lefevour!!!
-
so I guess this whole pregame meal was for nothing
-
IDK do you like to insult strangers in real life, or just thru your computer screen. BTW what did I say that was so bad, Bradford is wafer thin, he does have an avg arm, and he did play in the spread. So what is your problem
-
a wafer thin god with an avg arm playing in the spread. Plus he's an alcoholic waiting to happen, no thanks
