terrible idea, he's left handed, does anyone realize what a big deal that is in buffalo, his ball will spin the OPPOSITE WAY, meaning when the wind picks up, his throws will look like wild curve balls, he'll never complete a pass

your livin in the past man, live in the now bro, worry bout this yr, all that matters is the future dude, the future -
Jamarcus russell gives black qb's a bad name, well all qbs but he's not exactly a good example for black qbs. Which consist off, mcnabb, vick, campbell, russell, garrard, freeman, seneca wallace, trevaris jackson, should I continue, i mean aside from mcnabb, its a laundry list of mediocrity. Bottom line is NO I wouldnt trade for russell, i wouldn't pick him up as a FA, I wouldnt want him on the bills if he paid us, the guy sucks, and the idea to trade for him was idiotic.

Honest Question about 4-3 vs. 3-4
CarolinaBill replied to Bilgewater's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, Maybin was drafted specifically because of his speed off the edge, so if we did switch it seems obvious that he would be in the rush end/olb spot, similiar to merriman, or ware. It can be done but we def need to improve the center of the defense (welcome to buffalo terrance cody) if the 3-4 were to work, either way, Maybin has to get on the field somehow, and the coaches need to find ways to get him involved. -
Id rather have Lefevour

Raiders keeping Tom Cable as Head Coach
CarolinaBill replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
good move by the raiders, avoid the embarrassing lies that people would inevitably make up about who didn't want to interview for the job by keeping the cable guy for one more year. Al davis is a football genius -
Tebow is a great leader, but a mechanical trainwreck, its not only a question of armstrength, but his football IQ and overall mechanics, basically whoever takes him will be rebuiling him as a QB from the ground up.
-
where pike and lefevour ultimately grade out will be determined in the next month or so, how they handle themselves at the senior bowl will go a long way in the draft picture. The main reason I like Lefevour is his leadership and versatility. 3 of the top 4 QB's played in the spread just like Lefevour, he's easily the best athelete among all the top qb's. I believe Lefevours overall skill set and physicality are what will set him apart long term from the rest of the qbs in this yrs draft. with the proper mentoring and coaching he could be ready to take the reigns in 3 yrs, but I dont think it is wise for us to take ANY qb and throw him in right away. so, IMO lefevour is the best "qb of the future for the bills"
-
Yeah he was a HS RB that basically started playing QB halfway thru his senior yr, got limited scholarship offers, but took CMU, and you can see what he's done since. Playing in the spread was the best way to utilize his talents, and simultaneously develop him into a QB, however at the next level he will have to learn how to play the position, which i think he can do, but he's not a yr 1 starter, and neither are any of the QB's in this draft for that matter. IMO Lefevour is the best athelete, and has done alot with such raw skills, so in the pros, with the right coaching and mentor he can be really special.

I like Brohm also, however, I think in today's NFL you need 2 qbs, and Lefevour with his mobility and wildcat potential could be a great 1-2 punch with brohm, eventually one will get traded away. But I'd like to have them both, with a vet to teach them both how to play, they cant learn from trent, or Fitz, we need a legit Qb to teach these young guys
-
None of those three have the mobility that Lefevour has. And what exactly is a "system QB". Lefevour has performed and broken records with what he has been given, you can't fault him for that. Also, all the QB at the top this yr except clausen, played in some form of a spread, so if you like Mccoy, tebow, bradford, then you should like Lefevour, cause he stacks up against all three, if not better because of his mobility. I supposed you could make a case for Snead, but his wildly inconsistent arm, and penchant for throwing ints this yr is def. scary.

Of course I've been high on this kid for the last 2 yrs, however, I don't think all the hype in the world would legitimize him as a rd 1 pick, theres too much to work on, but the top of the 2nd like #41 maybe, would be a great place to pick our QB of the future. Also, I noticed while watching that highlight reel that most of those clips wree inside the red zone or at mid field, which may explain why there weren't a lot of deep ball highlights. I think the most important thing to remember with Lefevour is that he's a RB convert and has only been playing QB since he got to college, so there's a lot of upside when he actually "learns" his craft, but theres also a lot of learning yet to be done, He needs a good mentor, not TE or Fitz but a legit NFL QB to learn from.

Good Article About Tebow
CarolinaBill replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Right, so how do you improve grip. there are exercises that qbs do to strengthen their foreamrs, and also the muscle in the back of the bicep (I forget what its called). So when I say you can improve arm strength by working out, thats what I mean, and its true. -
I think it's time to let trent hit the bricks, , fitz may be around but ultimately I think it will be Brohm, our drafted QB (Lefevour), and the FA we bring in to hold the reigns for a year or two. If Nix is serious about building this team the right way, I think you have to let both fitz and TE go. IDK we'll see, only time will tell.

How do the Bills screw up the draft every year??
CarolinaBill replied to Thurman8125's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why everyone is so quick to shut the book on maybin is puzzling to me. He was a rookie for petes sake, give the guy a full offseason to put on the proper weight, I think we will all be surprised at what he does next year. And Mckelvin, had a good rookie year and was looking to improve on it this year before the injury, DRC didnt have the grade to take as high as mckelvin, plus we wanted a KR. Don't get me wrong, i didnt like either pick, but you can't write these guys off so fast. I think Maybin will def benefit from converting to a rush end OLB this year, its more of a natural fit for him to use his speed to get around the edge. -
Good Article About Tebow
CarolinaBill replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
you're right you can't teach armstrength, but you can build it up thru working out. It more about mechanics with tebow, they are more than a little off, his mechanics are ugly for the pros, ultimately, this week and the combine will go a long way in determining where tebow goes, but no matter who takes him, make no mistake, Tebow is a project, he is NOT a day 1 starter. -
interesting idea, i think it would be good, get his feet wet as a OC with Chan calling the plays.

DRAFT (Round 1, 2)
CarolinaBill replied to daveydanceswithwolves's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lefevour's completion % was 71.07 this year. furthermore, none of the qb's in this yrs draft, other than Clausen and snead are touted as having an "elite" arm. plus, bradford, mcoy, tebow, and lefevour all ran some form of a spread offense. My argument is based on 1: experience (especially in cold weather) 2:leadership 3:skill set To me NONE of these guys are year 1 or even 2 starters, but I believe Lefevour has the best upside FOR THE BUFFALO BILLS, he's the tough, blue chip type of QB that this team has severely lacked since Kelly left, and with the proper grooming I think he will be our franchise player. -
DRAFT (Round 1, 2)
CarolinaBill replied to daveydanceswithwolves's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll take Lefevour, more experience in the cold weather, same skill set as tebow and mccoy, and bradford, and he's the most mobile of the 4 qbs I would like to somehow fenagle 2 first rd picks and take either an OT or LB with one then cody with the other
