  1. its interesting, i'll say that. I'm more in favor of lefevour over pike, but no problem with another DE, as long as hes not an undersized, "try-hard" guy. and NO SAM BRADFORD/JEVON SNEAD. moreover, I'm confident that Nix will make the right call come draft day
  2. I didn't think it came out that way at all, actually I saw it as leach finally getting to put his side of the story out there. Hopefully, both sides will settle and leach can get back to coaching. More than anything I think the administration was looking for a reason to not pay him the money he earned, and this gave them the ability to fire him and save thier cash, talk about cheap, with any luck this program will go back to the basement of the big 12 where they came from. This is nothing more than a smear campaign against a coach that forced them to agree to a contract they never intended to let him fulfill. Shame on Texas Tech, and if craig james was as bad as Leach said, then He's a complete jerk, what a pain in the rear it must've been to deal with him.
  3. I like the idea of having weis as HC/OC, and crennel as DC, they have worked well together in the past. I think romeo could do great things with the defense, especially Maybin, who looks more and more like a olb not a legit DE. The only question would be who the GM would be, cause weis would not be wise to try and lobby for double duty. I would like nolan or haslett as DC if romeo said no. But it looks like no legit coach with a winning record will step foot in buffalo, so our only hope is to try to get the guy with a good system, and experience.
  4. The more important question is, given your assessments of how he played, do you think he might be the answer at QB? (i.e. would you draft a different position #1, even if we have a shot at one of the name QB's (Clausen, Bradford, McCoy, etc.))? its a little early, but I think that BB is a better option NOW, as is next year, if the new regime is resolved to rebuilding again for the next 3-5 yrs, then by all means think about a top level qb, but I think brohm can be the guy, and just in case they should grab lefevour in the 4th.
  5. we already did that with Brohm, now signing a midlevel vet like say Bulger, if he were to be released from st louis, might be a good idea, and also drafting a qb in the mid to late rounds, like dan lefevour in the 3-4th, thats what I would do. Draft the linesand lbs high, take lefevour in the 4th, sign bulger, that should take care of some issues. MAYBE
  6. down that much late in the game kicking a field goal is totally dick jauron football. what is the point in getting 3 instead of going for it on fourth, it was gutless, and I can't stand it. dump this guy and his soft cover-2 defense, dump AVP, and bring in some real coaches. This team needs people from the front office on down that will hold these guys accountable, be aggressive, and make them finishers. What we have now is a bunch of twats that have accomplished absolutely NOTHING
  7. b/t 6-7, i like the velocity that he has, wouldve liked to see some 15-20 yd out routes, but given the oline, I think he did well, all things considered. I also think that he should definitely get the start next week no matter what. there is no sense in sending fitz back out there.
  8. I actually wanted a retro sweatshirt, doubt it'll happen
  9. you know he tried to run over those teens in his SUV over losing in a FLAG FOOTBALL GAME!!!! He is getting everything he deserves. Grade A MORON
  10. dan lefevour, mccoy, williams, or mcclain, are all good options, others would be bruce campbell, OT from maryland, or if were lucky Suh, but I doubt it. Also, theres alot of FA's this year, merriman, and wilfork come to mind, so whoever we can lure in thru FA will change our draft needs NO MICHAEL VICK
  11. Just a thought, does anyone understand that the student atheletes are getting a FREE education. It is the ticket to the rest of their lives, consider that the top 2% of college atheletes make it to the pros and have an average career, the other 98% of student atheletes are getting their education for either nothing or virtually nothing other than the hard work it takes to be a student athelete. Im sure their are plenty of people, myself included, who wouldve loved to have a full ride to a reputable D-1 school for some sport. The NCAA and schools make money on their sports, but they also provide for the atheletes (room, board, meals, tutors, tuition, books) not to mention a degree at the end of it all. Im so sick of people trying to make the schools out to be the bad guys they give these kids the chance to get a free college diploma, and the possibilitiy of getting to the pros, doesnt sound that bad.
  12. I think you missed where I cited USA today as the reference. And yes i do believe in second chances, and it appears by ALL accounts of PEOPLE WHO WERE CLOSE TO HIM, that he had made the most of it this time. Its an unfortunate turn of events, for a guy that was trying to get things right.
  13. As it turns out they were preparing for their wedding had an argument she drove of he jumped in the truck bed and eventually fell out, she stayed with him in the hospital last night. (USA TODAY) So for all you jerks talking about what u know nothing about SHUT UP!! The guy had finally gotten his life on track, he wasnt beating her, they had an argument like many couples do and unfortunately this accident is the result. The reactions by some to this is exactly what is wrong with people, automatically assuming the worst because he made mistakes in the past. You know, the bible says " let ye without sin cast the first stone" and since nobody here qualifies maybe u should keep your big mouths shut if its not some kind words or a prayer.
  14. No, he got cut from the rams for committing stupid personnal fouls, however after he was unceremoniously released one would think he would curb such behavior. Yet remain a mean SOB just without the after the play nonsense. That's what we need, as I said an above average mean vet who was only released for said reason, not injuries or demotion
  15. I would appreciate it if the average LB on the IR would keep that to himself. incognito is a guy that can help this team, and , as is usually the case players don't get ran off more than one team due to the same behavior, other than TO. Point being, he can be an important part of this new look oline we are building, and he will be a veteran, who can lead this group, and he plays mean, I mean, what else could u ask for. A good, mean, above average vet olineman, who we get cause of some ill advised penalties. I'll take it. At least he never called out the QB for being a homosexual (TO).
  16. its an unfortunate situation to happen to a guy that had rehabilitated his career this year. hopefully she wasnt a waitress at a dave and busters, that would be really weird
  17. a few rhetorical questions 1: is he better than a guy off the street or practice squad... YES 2: has he remained healthy the majority of his professional career....YES 3: is he an above average player that got an endorsement from his coach that just released him...YES bottom line is that incognito is a guy that can automatically improve our line this year and next year if we choose to resign him, which I hope we do, because it may save us from having to hope, i mean draft a lineman again this year. If you have bell, incognito, wood, levitre and butler to start next year, I like that line up. Also, I understand kavika mitchell called him a bum, and theyve had issues in the past, however, mitchell is on IR not helping this team, and last I checked isnt exactly a world beater himself, so I dont put much stock in the ramblings of a mediocre LB that got earholed by the guy we just signed. Also, In terms of the personal fouls, and antics... Rare is it that a player repeats the same mistakes that get himran off a team after being a legit starter (see chris henry, cedric benson, kyle turley, etc). I doubt this will be a problem in the future
  18. I like it, a solid starter that has some fire, its something we havent had lately, sans TO, worst case scenario, we dont tender him, best case, hes a starter for us for then next 5-10 yrs.
  19. clausen is a great prospect, but i would prefer dan lefevour in the third, and build the lines in the first and second
  20. I like the pickup of brohm, and also liked him coming out of college. Lets face it, fitz is a viable backup, and I seriously doubt trent will have any backing from the new regime. Id say get dan lefevour in the draft, keep brohm and fitz, and have a qb battle, 2010 will be another rebuild anyway, but whoever surfaces they need to be the guy unless they prove completely incapable, not the way losman was jerked around by mularkey. identify ur starter, and stick with him, QB's are fragile, and screwing with their ego is a death stroke, it might as well be a wasted pick (losman). Also, the bills brass should try building a team, like a gm that can work with the coach, the coach that formulates the offensive gameplan around his QB's strength and weapons. just a thought
  21. Coaches are mercenaries just like players, and with recruiting seson upon us, kelly did the right thing for his new team, it is messed up that he left the nati at this point in their season, but at least now he has the whole month, IE winter break to recruit his first group of HS players. The guy is a winner, and this is his "dream" job. was it wrong, no, inconsiderate yes. Also, you have to know that as a coach, when u go undefeated and still dont have a shot at the nat'l championship, you should look elsewhere. ND is an elite name in college football, if he can get them back to glory his legend will be set.
  22. at this point in the year johnson should be getting reps in 3 and 4 reciever sets however, theres no realistic reason to think that fewell would put in johnson over evans or TO or reed if they are being competitive in each game. I like'd this kid coming out of kentucky, and he does flash signs of promise, but bottom line is we have alot of payroll tied up in lee and TO, so they have to be on the field, same logic applies to hardy, eventually both have to see the field, or at least first team reps in practice, it all depends on when the coaching staff concedes the season, and starts looking to next year.
  23. also, to anyone that wants to compare lefevour to tebow, get a grip, this kid actually knows how to throw the football, and has never been used as a battering ram running back. he's a more complete player than tebow with better arm strength than mccoy, only difference is he played in the MAC, but hes got the best of both, I will be really upset if we dont land this kid, more so than when we didnt get big ben.
  24. I,ve followed this guy the last 2 1/2 yrs. He's a winner over 40 wins in 4 yrs improved stats every yr, multiple 4th qtr comebacks, and all the physical and mental abilities you could ask for. The only knock I know of is his non rocket arm strength, but if anyone remembers, brady had arm strength issues his first few yrs and now he has one of the better arms in the league. But you can't teach the leadership this kid has and I for 1 think he's the guy for this team. Id say take him in the 3rd and make him compete with brohm.
