  1. its washington, you never know, they might take the bait. Plus Whitner is a1st rd pick who is still in his 1st contract, and he is not considered a "bust". He still has value.
  2. very creative
  3. What's your point? Mine point was that since neither of the top 2 guys have elite arm strength we shouldnt use a top pick on either of them, but rather get the guy who I feel has the biggest upside, Lefevour.
  4. Mallet's no good, I'm tellin you, he's gonna go in the top 5 and some team will waste 50 mil on that kid, he's Ryan Leaf v2.0, mark my words, if anybody we should go for Locker, but since he will go #1 overall, there's no way we'll have a shot at him.
  5. ok first off this is a very nice draft, Id prefer to trade donte for a 2nd or 3rd and use that pick for Lefevour, but thats just me, other than that, it's a very realistic draft scenario. I do not think Mcnabb or collins is a good option, remember that collins was all but retired, but since he lives in tenn. he signed with the titans, so I doubt he would come to buffalo to be a 2 yr stopgap player. Smith was in Line to start for Baltimore until he got sick. so there could be some real talent there. unfortunately, locker will go #1 overall next yr, so unless we totally tank it (which we won't) there's no chance we get him. Mallet IMHO is the next Ryan Leaf, and I personally wouldn't touch him if I were the GM. So to sum up, agree on the drafting, get smith, lefevour, pickett or hampton and call it a day.
  6. the longest throw he put up in the air was around the 45-50 yd mark, all the top 6 qbs in this draft can throw it that far. I'll say it again, there is nobody with "elite" arm strength in this draft. so why not take the most versatile guy with the highest upside, and by that I mean, Dan Lefevour.
  7. I was thinkin the same, If the offer is right I say dump him, he's not a premiere player, and we already have wilson to step into the SS spot. At this point we need to accumulate picks and build from the ground up, if donte fetches a 3rd or better, I would def. trade him, esp out of conference.
  8. Don't take offense buddy, opinions aren't welcome around here. And nobody really knows how to discuss without arguing, or how to take a joke, it's just the culture of the board. If you state an opinion, it must fall in line with the opinions of the "more respected" board members, of course respect is gained by 1: post count, kinda like the online equivalent to a dick measuring contest and 2: creating speculation that the masses agree with You, my friend made the grave mistake of stating the ever so unpopular, yet realistic opinion that TE may in fact be our QB next year. and you're entitled to that opinion, but dont act surprised if the lemmings on the board start verbally abusing you ever so classlessly, as they have been known to do.
  9. kurt warner and big ben wear gloves, whats the problem?
  10. ah yes, the awesome competition that is the winter olympics. Did you happen to see the spirited competition b/t the USA and china in womens hockey? it was a scrappy battle of wills that saw the american ladies narrowly escape with a 10-0 victory.
  11. Bradford will get hurt just as easily as edwards. Thats why we need a tough qb that can handle the hits, like Dan Lefevour.
  12. we need to beat them before we can dethrone them. Pats have beaten us what 13 of the last 14, or something like that. Until they start missing the playoffs consistently they will always have a chance to win it. But the signs of decline are there, hopefully this new decade will be remembered as the Bills Dynasty Decade.
  13. maybe we should wait for TJ Yates next year, now there's a superstar in the making
  14. Davis spikes Lefevour Jones Troup Witten Coleman
  15. Tebow doesnt have the skills to play QB in the NFL, if you want a spread guy to run the "pistol", which there's no guarentee we will run, the you better get Dan Lefevour.
  16. So dont use evidence to support my position, um ok? If screens are so easy to complete, then how come Losman couldn't do it. It takes skill and touch to complete screen passes, vision, going thru progressions. Read the scouting report, He generally can put the ball where he wants it. I'm sorry if you cant see that 65%+ completion equals an accurate quaterback. Also, when breaking down his NFL caliber throws from college, he is still accurate, velocity does need some work, but his accuracy is not in question. If you don't like him, fine, but don't try to discredit a valid stat. Also 35 wins is a valid stat, 8 come from behind wins, including his last bowl game, is a valid stat. I like WVU, but how much has Jarrett Brown won? Nothing, Not anywhere close to Lefevour, they both will be available in the 3rd, I'll take Lefevour, hell brown should be around in the 5th, maybe we'll get both.
  17. Tebow's scrambling doesnt translate to profootball, hes more of a battering ram, so you could line him up at fullback, but in a wildcat hes not gonna do too much, and last time I checked, FB's dont go on day 1. Also, this has been discussed at length in other threads, you didnt have to start a new one.
  18. bad accuracy? so 70% is bad? I don't think so, he seemed to do well at the senior bowl, combine will do alot for this kid, he'll end up being the qb steal of this draft. Just wait and see
  19. I do believe Lefevour is good enough to have played at any of those programs. He showed in the senior bowl that he could hang with the elite talent in CFB.
  20. well, you don't read too well do ya boy? If you did you would see that i did not agree with moving up to get Suh because it would be far too costly for us. what you guys were doing, which is the classic ignorant "we'll just compare him to the last big name DT we can think of", is wrong. Suh is the real deal, but with buffalo having so many needs, we shouldn't mortgage out future for 1 player. Learn to read, asshat.
  21. maybe I read this wrong, but i think the point was that Lefevour is a big time player at a small time school, it wasn't a knock against the other guys because they had a supporting cast, rather a comment that if you swap out any one of them and put Lefevour in their place you would have a championship team too.
  22. right cause a dorsey (6-2, 315) is the same as Suh (6-4 305), plus dorsey, who has 1 spot, the dt in a 4-3, is exactly the same as suh, who has the body to play the end in a 3-4, or the DT in a 4-3. Awesome analysis guys
  23. All of them thanks to ESPN gameplan Im curious you are so convinced Lefevour blows, as you stated before, yet you want to pick jarrett Brown, who by all accounts is a project, and has only 1 yr of starting experience. Lefevour on the other hand has 4 yrs of starting experience, and tape to look at. All those yds and TDs both thru the air and on the ground, playing in the cold at CMU, and you don't think he can be developed in 2-3 yrs? 8 come from behind victories, shows me character, and leadership, that we havent had since Kelly left. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't think he's a day 1 starter, nor should he go in rd 1, or probably rd 2 for that matter, i don't believe you should spend day 1 picks on QBs that won't yield results in the first two yrs, unless you have an established guy in front of him. But I do believe that Lefevour has a great upside, and with the proper coaching he will be a very dangerous Qb for someone in the future, I just hope that someone is the Buffalo Bills. Honestly, the worst thing that could happen to Lefevour, would be to have an awesome combine that vaults him into rd 1, that would be a disaster.
