  1. I saw this live ,that was not a full strength throw, it was a practice throw at about half speed, its throwing at a stationary bag, equivalent to a screen pass. Nice try though
  2. how many games a year does it snow? this is the worst argument against getting any good player, we have what maybe 3-4 games where you might get snow, in the reg season, so you cant draft guys from places where it doesnt snow, simply retarded, NEWS FLASH, clausen played at Notre Dame, it snows there brainiac, so according to your logic it shouldn't be a problem.
  3. based on that it could be any of the top guys, bradford (2yrs starter), clausen (3+ yrs starter), lefevour, (3yr starter) tebow(3 yr starter) and mccoy all fit that description. With that said, I do think we will take clausen if available
  4. Tebow is a project that needs 1 if not 2 "redshirt seasons" he should not sniff the field before then. Maybin will be playing OLB, there's no "shot", its his spot, unless he sucks in which case he'll be cut--NEXT YEAR. WE NEED a QB, OT'S, a NT, and ILB to replace Mitchell, and another OLB, those are the major holes, more lbs and DT/DE's (depth), wrs (slot guys, shipley would be nice), are secondary needs (rb if lynch is traded). what we dont need:CB's, SS, FS, OG, C. Again, I'd like to reiterate that as good as tebow was in college, and during interviews at the combine, he is still mechanically speaking, terrible, and will need 1-3 yrs of pro coaching to fix his mechanics and learn the pro game, I repeat TEBOW IS NOT AN OPTION TO BE AN IMMEDIATE STARTER, he may one day be a good player, but not anytime soon.
  5. not gonna happen, boldin has already stated he plans on playing out his existing contract, and has a tendency to miss time every yr due to injury lately, part of the reason to and reed were let go was to clear the way for JH and SJ, so I doubt we would send a pick to arizona for a frequently injured 29-30 yr old WR who will need a new contract.
  6. exactly, they only SHOWED him watching TE/OL, but I'm sure he was there watching every position, so was Nix, it is, after all, their job.
  7. Thanks for posting this Byrd "I guess that depends on 'Are you changing coverages or is it just the front you are changing?'" Ryan said Saturday at the NFL scouting combine in Lucas Oil Stadium. "There are several different versions of a 3-4. But it depends on your style." I cant recall who it was that tried to call me an idiot for saying that we didn't necessarily need to switch coverage schemes to run the 3-4, but to whomever it was please read the quote from rex ryan, (a 3-4 defensive mastermind) and after you get done SUCK MY BALLS!!!!! Like I have said before.... If we can get a few key pieces (NT, production from the rush OLB/DE) it should open up our cover 2 shell, if we were to keep it, to make alot of plays. More pressure up the middle and on the edges would allow the corners and safeties to attack the throwing lanes and create more turnovers.
  8. You should check the score of all the games this year, If you did you would see that clausen is the main reason the were even able to win at all this year, THE DEFENSE WAS TERRIBLE NEVADA W 35-0 Michigan L 38-34 Michigan State W 33-30 at Purdue W 24-21 Washington W 37-30 USC L 34-27 Boston College W 20-16 Washington State W 40-14 Navy L 23-21 at No. 12 Pittsburgh L 27-22 Connecticut L 33-30 at Stanford L 45-38 defense allowed 308 points, clausen and his 28tds/4ints 3722yds and 68% comp% couldn't do much more to help his team win. BTW all 6 or the losses this yr were by 7 points or less. So despite a terrible defense, he never let his team lose by more than 7 this yr. Clausen is also the only QB that played on a crap team, the other QBs come from loaded teams that run the spread, Clausens stats are pro style stats.
  9. I'll be honest I didn't realize Reed's #'s were that sad until now, but with those type of stats, why was he even on the field, IDK, but I have to believe that either hardy or johnson can do better than that. Not to mention both are much better red zone options simply because of size, with JR and TO out of the way these 2 will have every opportunity to play with the first team and make plays, look for hardy and nelson to play inside and run the crosses while lee and stevieJ are on the corners, it really doesnt sound bad to me, lots of potential to do damage, esp in the red zone
  10. ok, so you really dont think Hardy or Johnson could average 39 catches for 489 yds/yr?1 td per yr avg? Josh reed never lived up to his billing comin out of LSU, 311 catches 3575 yds 10 tds in 8 yrs, doesn't sound like we will be missing much.
  11. so you're on the fence about whether we need a new QB or not right?
  12. agreed, Nix knows that the real way to please the fans is to WIN, and we weren't winning with the guys we have so why keep them. The new regime is def sending a message to some of the other bubble players. I'm very happy that buddy and chan are putting their stamp on this team, hopefully it will mean more wins.
  13. no we dont need 2 Nt, at least not 2 high, or 2 OLB, we need, 1 NT, 1 OLB, 1 ILB, 1 QB, slot WR 1 DT(DE 3-4)
  14. exactly, its the pros, it doesnt have to be fair, if you lose the toss it's your JOB to stop the opposition.
  15. I don't think the current system requires any changing, or tweaking, hopefully this will be rejected.
  16. Despite rumors of him "shooting" up draft boards thomas still remains a raw mid round pick, very much like hardy, he has a ways to go, thats before the injury, which is a clean break but should take 2-4 months to heal.
  17. Whitehurst is awful, please believe me, I saw his entire career. The guy is just not good, what's worse is that he looks like he would be size and arm all look ideal but the kid just doesn't have it. I hope we don't get this guy, it would seriously shake my faith in Mr. Nix.
  18. +1 terrible qb's don't help develop young receivers, Just say no to Vick
  19. I just did some checking on nfl.com, and KW is right on par with alot of other NT's around the league, he is a little light, maybe 15-20 lbs, than a huge guy like hampton, but I noticed alot of guys were b/t 6-1 and 6-3 and ran b/t 305-330
  20. thats where he should be, esp after deciding not to throw at the combine
  21. really????? is that necessary?
  22. I just don't see how you can really say that, if anything he hurt his stock this weekend by not throwing, he's clearly distinguished himself as the #3 qb in this draft. What do you base that idea on, just cause you dont like Dl, or the system, I mean, you're entitled to your opinion, I'm just wondering how you formed it.
  23. I would love this scenario however, I think Lefevour got some bad advice in not throwing at the combine, makes me wonder about the people around him.
  24. you would have to target teams that need a player like KW, AND have something of equal value that we want. If for a pick, 3rd rd
  25. we dont need a safety, i understand he's highly rated, we did this a few yrs ago, it didnt work, we do not need to pick a safety at #9, there will be an OT available. if anything we need a corner that can play press man coverage, not a safety
