Falcons trading Julio Jones to Titans
CountDorkula replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
SO wait it needs to be played out on in games for KC, but the Bills got Immensely better because they replaced Brown with Sanders and drafted a bunch on the D-line without playing a snap It cant work both ways. Acting like there is no worry for the Bills is extremely short sided. One great season and its already gone to everyone's head. buffalo could very well take a step back this year. Cleveland, Tennessee, Baltimore are all toss up opponents currently. I'm very intrigued with Indy as well if they can get Wentz back to form. -
Falcons trading Julio Jones to Titans

You know that you are not allowed to talk good about other teams. This moves makes the Titans a legit dual threat team. I wouldn't be surprised to see Tennessee in the top tier teams this year. They are going to have a dynamic offense. -
I love Josh, but there is a lot of homerism in this thread. Mahomes is the superior QB, and there is nothing wrong admitting that. I love how Allen is a Buffalo guy, that is until he gets paid and people start blaming him if the team doesn't take the next step. I make the trade all day every day and twice on Sundays.

I thought the whole thing was "Meh" -
No. the Bills are going to have like 5 prime time games. They play on thanksgiving. Enough of the "Little ol Buffalo" attitude.

Bills 2021 Draft - Overall Assessment
CountDorkula replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
C+ Teams are getting the ball out faster and faster. Getting Ends who can rush the passer, yes you need, but when teams are getting the ball out in 2 seconds it wont matter much. I'm not building my team from the trenches out. I'm building from the back end in. Need cover corners and Linebackers. I guess we will see how it plays out, not a fan of going DE/DE/DE with your 3 top picks the last 2 years. -
RD 1, Pick 30: Greg Rousseau, Edge (Miami) Public Poll Added

That's not asking much at all. Minus getting bigger and quicker usually don't go hand in hand. -

I wanted Ojulari or Samuel JR. This pick is very meh to me, I expect very little this year if anything. One year D-line wonders always scare me (Cant help but think of Maybin) Id like to see the Bills trade up in Rd 2 to get one of the guys above. -
Are sports’ drafts fair to the players?
CountDorkula replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The average contract in the NFL is like 850K, while still a great salary, a majority of careers are over in 3 years, and most of thses guys are making less than 850K So you are 25 with we will say about 1 million take home after taxes and everything else the NFL takes out. Far cry from generational wealth. So generations of wealth is wildly thrown around but is really only viable for maybe 20% of the league. -

A Good/Great QB prospect is not going to go to a team who already has a good QB in this scenario. A team that doesn't have a good QB is going to go hard for Lawerence in this example. Indy tanked to get Luck, that should not be rewarded. Imagine Buffalo being average for say 15-18 years, but instead of drafting at 8-15 every year, they are able to go out and sign a guy like Matt Ryan or Cam Newton or Matt Stafford. Don't award Teams for being bad, especially on purpose. -

This is entirely false. -

How would this eliminate Parity? The best players are going to spots (AKA QB's) where they have a chance to start right away. They arn't going to sign a huge deal to be a backup somewhere for a team with an already good QB. -

This is 1000000% False. The NFL still has a salary cap. You cant just go out and buy the best player every year. If there were no Draft and Trevor Lawerence was free to sign tomorrow, what three teams does he decide between? Not to mention that team is giving up a huge payday to get him. This would eliminate teams tanking and being bad on purpose as well. -

"The Draft make the league more fair" aka Competitive Balance Yes, yes it is. That's called free market. You may not like it, but it is. -

Yes its still the most popular sport in the world. People seem to be ignoring that the NFL would still have a salary cap. If the NFL said today no Draft anymore college players are free to sign wherever. Trevor Lawrence is going to sign where? A) The team that gives him the most money B) The place where he can start. He is not going to Tampa or Miami or San Diego because of the weather. While I love the draft, i would love a college free agent class that was able to sign and go wherever. -

You choose to join the army though. So yes, you did. You could have done something else. (The argument being used currently in terms of the NFL draft) They choose to be in the NFL so they don't get a choice where they go. Thanks for you service!
