A Bills fan called into Rush Limbaugh to talk about Michael Sam's sack.

I think that situation was one of the FO listening to the fans instead of making the best football decision. You don't jettison your veteran starting QB for a rookie project. You make the rookie unseat him. Hadn't you heard? The league has redefined the word rookie to mean anyone who hasn't started and finished 16 complete regular season games. Aaron Rogers was a rookie for years.

I guess it depends on how long it takes to develop him. A guy who needs 3-5 years to develop into a decent starter is not someone most fans would sign off on going "all in" with from the start. It's not so much a knock on Manuel as it is an acknowledgement of an iffy situation with no apparent viable alternative.

I haven't watched enough of Mallet to say how his overall game is, but the guy can throw a football with the best of em. In one of the Pats preseason games he threw a sideline pass 40 yds down field that hit the runner in stride right along the sideline. The WR dropped it, but had he reeled it in that was a beautiful pass.

No dude, these numbers don't fit the narrative. Find some better ones and we'll listen. Does anyone else feel insulted about being left off this list? -

No matter how hard I try I just can't get worried about it. -
If you get your kicks by carrying the water for this team, then go for it. I've done it for several years and found it entertaining, but it's no longer fun pretending the chubby girl we brought to the dance may slim down, doll up, and develop from a 4 to an 8, and be everything we hoped for. I'm not saying she won't, but I'd feel a lot better if I was showing up with a 6 that at least somebody else was interested in. If EJ becomes a serviceable NFL QB you guys won't have to come here begging fans to forget the subpar play that he has demonstrated thus far in favor of focusing on the half dozen good plays he's made. The bulk of the fan base will embrace him like we have so many lovable losers before him. And he doesn't even have to be great - just decent. And while the jury is still out (mine anyway) the long-term prognosis looks a little shakey right now. I do think as fans we should understand he's a young kid under a lot of pressure, and refrain from being !@#$s at the stadium, on Twitter, etc. But the fact that the new brain trust went "all in" on an overdrafted project, with no alternative in sight, doesn't exactly get me giddy with excitement. If he doesn't turn the corner hard and fast, this so-called rebuild will just be another blip on the Bills pathetically shameful recent history, and we're on to the next rebuild.

Technically, he's a short white guy named Bob. -

When I was 19 I was walking through VCU with my girlfriend when for no apparent reason to cops stopped us and asked what we were doing. They said they stopped us b/c it looked like we were fighting and wanted to step in before it escalated. Seeing as how we were holding hands and not fighting, I can only assumed they stopped us because we were black. -
This is yet another convenient crusade for white pansies to show how not racist they are, and for a select handful of Indians to get to play Jessie Jackson for a day. Color me impressed. /Golf clap.

I know preseason doesn't mean much, but I'd like to see a young team trying to get it together gain some confidence by putting up some meaningless points. It's just hard for me to envision a team that can't get it done in scrimmage to all of a sudden turn it on in the game. -
I think Hogan's one of those guys that became a popular whipping boy because he was a 5th stringer no one knew much about, and he was kept on the roster when Nelson and Rogers weren't. No offense to anyone here, but I doubt any of us are all that informed about Hogan's skill and potential.

If EJ busts and CLE picks in the top 5 w/ our pick next year will you still say the same of Whaley? -
James Hardy has actually had a very successful second career manufacturing concrete-backed siding.

I've been looking for something to help treat my emphysema. I'm going to go smoke a joint and get back to you. -
They were. The team wants to upgrade, (which is great), fans want a scapegoat, and they read on a message board that these guys suck, and now they repeat it as if it were their own opinion.

I was discussing this case with my mom and I posed to her the question, what if my brother had decided to be a cop, ended up in a tight situation where he shot, honestly believing it was kill or be killed, and then morons across the country were accusing him of murder and demanding he go to prison for the rest of his life. I'm curious what the outlook of Birddog and the like have to say to that. How do you people hold yourself up as decent, much less virtuous, people when you're calling for the head of a man based on speculation? Do you people have some info the rest of us have been deprived of that make you sure this guy shot a black kid because shooting black kids gets his dick hard? Or are you just assuming because it fits your prejudice? -
Would you swap EJ for Manziel right now?

You'll have to excuse the equestrian, he gets very worked up over these things. He used to have similar outbursts towards those who doubted the skill and dedication of Aaron Mayhem Maybin. -

Well if you took a dozen bong hits before reading it, you'd probably think birddog's argument made a lot more sense. -

I don't really want to take this thread down this road, but I hate (I'm using the word hate here) the idea that whatever the dipshits in the legislature decide to call a crime, and whatever penalty they choose for said crimes, is necessarily just. From a practical standpoint, I agree, it's a good idea to avoid getting arrested. But you could burn someone alive for petty theft and if the law allowed for such a penalty, the idiotic "do the crime, do the time" mantra would be equally applicable. And what if they determine that something is a crime that's really none of their !@#$ing business? Should I just shrug like a gutless !@#$ing pop country singer? I prefer to assess penalties based on the nature and severity of the crime and the proportionality of the penalty, not aphorisms.
