  1. I’d venture there’s no way for either of us to say. Is Jake locker suddenly a star if he sits? Its a tough conversation because the sample size is tiny and the variables are huge
  2. To be fair, I’m not sure playing made those guys better either.
  3. Lucky there are film rooms and practice fields too!
  4. Beane was weird about naming the very obvious Tyrod the starter last year. Once the pads go on we will learn a lot about the actual plan
  5. I’ve seen a few games but didn’t key on the kid heavily or anything. My comment was a half joking brake tap for the “we may have found our guy.” He’s a long shot to make the roster, and the OP framed it like he’s a good shot to be #2. I’m not down on the kid but not over the moon either benjamin zay kerley Holmes streeter 2 rookies they spent pucks on ugh... maybe not such a long shot... but he has work to do to pass at least 2-3 guys
  6. My point was that you seemed to imply knowing dabolls offense a bit would help... but if he didn’t do well in it previously it might not be a good omen for this summer.
  7. The fact that he wasn’t particularly good in it may hurt him.
  8. Huge long shot, but a shot
  9. Cordy was a guard too. for all we know that book was again written by a gm hoping he’d slide out of the top 3. The draft tends to see people repeating each other so much you think everyone agrees. If crafty you can spin a weakness into a quote that becomes the entire story. We are about to learn a whole lot more about what our gm and coach thought of him.
  10. Additionally, simply saying it today means very very little. Would you be shocked if they changed minds?
  11. Rodgers was behind a hall of fame qb young was the 80s and started a bunch of games before landing behind a hall of famer if McCarron plays very very well it may prove me wrong. Part of my assertion is that we don’t have another reliable 16 game starter on the roster. Love that auto correct!
  12. Genuinely not sure the answer but how many top 10 QBs have red shirted the last decade? its got to be a tiny percentage and several were more potential than polish
  13. Are you implying that 18 AND 19 are writeoffs waiting til 20 to even begin to see if the qb can even play? What nfl have you been watching?
  14. Depends widely on the scheme. If it’s a complex scheme leaning on intermediate timing routes and anticipatory throws requiring touch... maybe the vet wins August. but I can’t imagine the kid sitting all year
  15. Not does seem contradicting to get the raw, deep ball qb and then stock up on intermediate route timing style options I’m curious to see it come together
  16. Outside the giants ain’t nobody drafting a running back with long term expectations
  17. I’d be shocked if he doesn’t start during this year week 1, who knows. Red shirt? No way.
  18. And clay we will have options fighting it out for depth wr/returner
  19. If it works it’s inside information — if it flops it’s a favor. Allegedly scouts clocked him (Ray) sub 4.4 at a workout
  20. What about 13 or 16? How exact is this science?!? ?
  21. At this point we are angling towards being a team that hopes to hold the opponent to 10 and break two big plays on offense. As a 6th rounder if he might get 2-3 of those 32 big plays, it’s a win!
  22. It happens. WR, and big school wr, often slide up fans boards because the get the best highlight videos. Then you get 120 guys projected as round 3-4 suddenly. Not counting the small school guys that slide into actual draft boards but not in our chatter. Even a guy like our own Stevie Johnson slid from mid round to 7th. Once you get past the unique talents there’s a lot of guys that are interchangeable and scouts catch on ones they happen to like for whatever reason
  23. With a position that has 6 guys, you can have differing skill sets. The prototype can still be big guys with a gadget player or (gulp) water bug in the depth chart
  24. The fact that he’s played corner seems positive in that regard. But who knows, very few Ray Ray mccloud experts around here at the moment. So far hes small, but good hands and all that versatility can break either way: not good enough at one job but also eager to do whatever is needed
  25. It’s a real charming addition to the atmosphere - right? We all could use more of it in our lives....
