  1. Based on the requirements it seems like Buffalo should be more of a top ten cities that can hold its liquor
  2. Right on about Exodus, I swear up an down on the genius if Bonded in Blood. Killer record. Was a big Vio-Lence fan too. rust in peace is a solid record, but mustaine's voice get on my nerves after a bit. That being said, I fully intend on seeing them this summer
  3. the one thing no one talks about when thinking about Vick, and something that can't be ignored, is the fcat he has not taken serious snaps in like 4-5 years. By that I mean take the hit and make the 30+ throws a game. Look at the favre pics from that other thread--that from a dude who has played every game since 1992 (1 or 2? dont remember). Bringing in Vick would be a MASSIVE gamble if only because we do not know if he can play a full 16 week season. Imagine the outcry if the Bills tried to pick up any other QB who had not played a full game in 4-5 years. Forget about past glories, we are not looking at Vick circa 2003. This is guy who has not played a full game in 4-5 years. Beyond the dogs (serious problem with me) and the stats (another serious problem) the Bills are simply not good enough to protect or support a guy who has not played a full game in 4-5 years.
  4. eh, I've heard worse ideas. Heard a lot better ones too
  5. 1990* *assuming you live in the "Escape From New York" old future
  6. Jay Reatard? sloppy immature garage punk. Not for everyone. Recently learned his death was caused by coke and liquor. Little cliche....but it's been awhile since we've had one of those.
  7. meh, maybe you don't dig them but Slayer was the real deal. Reign in Blood was called the best metal album in the last 25 years by Metal Hammer magazine, kerrang called it the heaviest record of all time, Dave Lombardo and Kerry King are absolute monsters and drums and guitar respectively. Even for those who could care less about critics, Kerrang and Metal Hammer are written by metalheads for metalheads If you're looking for thrash metal you can do a lot worse than those Slayer jams from the 80s (the last 20 years worth of stuff? eh, not so much)
  8. The stuff that floated to the top was pretty annoying. Any "hey, remember the 80s" countdown you run across tends to be filled with this obnoxious bouncy over processed noise. But it was also the last time there was a serious underground. It's weird, the stuff I hate the most was from the 80s but so is the stuff I love the most. any decade that gave us the Jacobites, Black Flag, Minutemen, Dinosaur Jr, Replacements and Slayer can't be all bad. any decade that gave us Haircut 100, Johnny hates Jazz, Flock of Seagulls and Poison can't be all good either
  9. ...but that song is absolutely awful
  10. I saw the B-52s like ten years ago, and I swear up and down, of the thousand or shows I've been to they were a top ten.
  11. oh deregulation, is there any pooch you can't screw?
  12. now those are the bands we should be talking about!
  13. the litigious nature of the girl scouts is precisely why we've been robbed of so many flute riffs in rock and roll. bastards. little 12 year old girl bastards
  14. I think my 20% would be dismissed immediately after the court learns I tend to cut my own hair. But then reinstated once they find out I have Xanadu on dvd. what, a dude can't get down with a flamboyant roller disco musical?
  15. the screaming dude makes the band! He's what will let them break the coveted 14 year old girls who love death metal demographic
  16. So it sounds like you are voting for Drew Brees to lose his throwing arm in a firey tractor accident.
  17. really? this is controversy now? admitting it's cold in February is a slight?
  18. 20% I think that stems from having no interest in Brad Pitt's wife and knowing a bunch of pop culture questions.
  19. wow....that is kind of amazing. I wonder how much screaming behind a boy band pays? That guy may have the best job ever.
  20. I saw Head of Femur open up for someone a few years ago...don't remember who and had no idea who HOF was at the time. They were really great though. I have a couple of their albums now--a really great pop band. Allmusic tends to be run by lunkheads. There was a huge pop scene out of Athens, GA in the mid to late 90s that gets referred to as "elephant 6." Beulah, Apples in Stereo, Olivia Tremor Control, Of Montreal, Elf Power, Neutral Milk Hotel....quite a few good bands. The XTC influence spread to that scene. The list they came up with was a pretty random collection of bands.
  21. i just threw up in my mouth a little.
  22. as did I...apparently we are 20% smarter than most. I knew all that drinking would pay off
  23. what an insane idea. 9 year olds don't have disposable income and no parent in their right mind is actively looking for ways to sexualize third graders. Or maybe I'm wrong...I'm not the one who wrote Achy Breaky Heart
  24. I'd say Detroit since, hopefully, Bills wouldn't need the home field advantage to seal the deal.
