This is exactly the problem with the Olympic coverage. It's a two week America-gasm. Total indifference to winners or sports that have nothing to do with the States. When I was in High School I used to race biathalon, so I get pretty excited to watch the event in the Olympics. Once every four years I get to see the sport. Unfortunately the US is awful at biathalon. The coverage was like 30 minutes of target shooting. Whole pile of nothing. We should be able to see all of the events, not just the mess the US wins. I say more power to that dude. You work your balls off for four years to get to this level, you finally reach the top of your sport, and some ignorant bim comes running over totally unprepared and ruining your moment.

Trapped on an island or clutched in your casket...

yeah it is. Speed of cattle is an odds and sods type deal, pretty much just a pile of singles and and comp stuff. But man, there are songs that will blow your face off. Wrong? tatyana? Bacteria? Absolutely killer. I bought that record in 1995 and still listen to it maybe 3 times a week. -

#1: Archers of Loaf: The Speed of Cattle #2: Bob Dylan: Another Side of Bob Dylan although I will spend the whole time singing Uncle Tupelo songs to myself -
they cannot always be considered 100%. I had my GPS demand I take a left hand turn once-a turn that would have driven me off the side of a cliff. Outside of that a totally worthwhile investment. If not for my GPS I'd still be trying to find my way out of the parking lot after that Motorhead show in Oklahoma City August 2008.

saw it on Saturday....it isn't much of anything. Really poorly directed. No tension or excitement, just sort of floats there. Some nice photography though.

the drummer on the first 2 or 3 Parts & Labor albums was an absolute monster. Probably the best I have ever seen play. Of course I don't remember his name at all or feel like looking it up. Keith Moon needs to be on the list Paul Quattrone from Modey Lemon Steve Shelly from Sonic Youth Kid Millions from Oneida Dave Lombardo from Slayer/Fantomas If anyone is interested in drummers I'd suggest checking out the more recent Boredoms records. Their new stuff is 3 drummers and various noise. Sounds like it would be obnoxious, but it really isn't. Kind of hypnotic and beautiful

Polian calls out his OL and special teams

Manning was all checkdowns though. Do you remember seeing him throw over 10 yards all that often? -

This is exactly the reason why I was excited for the TO signing. I figured he'd start mouthing off every time Trent or Jauron or whoever did something stupid. Personally I love it (and think it's good for the team) when one guy will speak his mind to keep players/coaches accountable. -
More reason to stay away from Vick.

Nope. what makes you think he deserves forgiveness? Because he's upset he got caught? Because he's a lazy violent sociopath? If it makes you feel better I'll start calling the pilgrims white trash. -

the guy is walking trash. how that guy gets so much support boggles my mind. terrible human being and football player. -
I'm inclined to agree with you. Fitz, I think, is a little underrated. He has an insane amount of faults, but when he's on he's on. I'm not advocating Fitz starting next year, but I can guarantee he's going to work for the job. He comes across as a driven guy who wants the job whereas Trent is probably happiest with his Dakota anning movies. The O-Line obviously needs to be fixed. But just look at the difference between Trent and Fitz playing behind the line. Fitz had a lot less sacks and a lot more plays. Logic says a fixed O-Line means Fitz would still outplay Trent. Logic also says he lost that locker room for a reason. I'm sure there's an aspect to this story we don't know.

He did show some promise at first. But ever since the concussions he has been a giant sack of nothing. His unwillingness to sling the ball eventually lost the faith of the team. if they don't believe in him nothing is going to happen on the field. The total lack of TE defenders implies there is not a lot of locker room support for the guy. He may still have a career after he gets his head straight, but it will not be here. it's too bad really, but hardly the first time a football player with promise was lost to injuries.

Texans and Browns haven't made it either. Pretty terrific company we hold

I want to go back to teaching film, but never again at one of those giant DIV 1 sports schools. I have spent enough time trying to convince kids passing my class would be infinitely more important than their fraternity based escapades. -

Here's an obscure name, but does anyone know Antony Haggerty? He fronts this arty cabaret group called Antony and the Johnsons. Amazing voice that sounds like a male Nina Simone. Certainly not for everyone, but if you can dig on soaring vocals with piano and strings it'll kill you. Klaus Nomi had a cool/weird voice too -
