ESPN Playoff Predictor
strive_for_five_guy replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
so the bills win 23-0, and espn now projects them to go 11-5 with 86% chance, instead of 12-4 with 60-something percent chance.... -
Come on. Miami was able to put up 24 against the Pats at home. I think our Bills have a WAY better offense than Miami (O-Line, RBs, WRs & QB). In addition, NE's offense will be missing Aaron Hernandez this week, one of the key weapons that Brady has been able to rely on the first two weeks. Pats beat Miami 38-20. I think we will see the Bills use up the clock on some long drives, as our offense is better suited to do than Miami's. This game finishes in the 27-24 range. I'll say Bills on top!

What Will Maybin Do After Football
strive_for_five_guy replied to Bills99999's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, but Maybin will not actually park the car. His roll will be to open the drivers side door after the vehicle has been parked, with a celebratory flexing of his mussels in suing. -

If Luck is the guy we want, do we even have to worry about competing with Carolina & Dallas for that pick? Carolina drafted Clausen in last year's draft. To pick Luck would be an admission that they already have doubts about Clausen. With Dallas, they have Romo, so I don't see them looking to draft a guy like Luck at this point. Granted, another team could trade up with Carolina or Dallas though. But, maybe we don't necessarily need the top pick to draft Luck? The biggest question with Luck is probably whether he ends up entering the draft or not. -
Watching the Jets

jets O is in for a long season. as inconsistent as we are going to be, we're going to at least have some games where our players break a couple long ones. -

so you're telling me there's a chance -
it is tough, not sure who would be after spikes or before him. i wouldn't even have thought of spikes if someone else hadn't mentioned him, but he was that good for a short period of time. maybe it depends how someone defines "star" - in the sense of popularity around the league, TO is a "star". if "star" also includes production, then scratch TO from the list of recent "star" Bills.
-
Agreed. The Pats will probably prove me completely wrong, but they've had a lot of injuries and are aging in several areas of their team (RB, O-line, secondary) and could be weak this year. That being said, if all of the draft picks they've had recently pan out, they may not see a drop-off this season at all. I would love to see Belicheck fail though.

Spiller is the only reason I have any hope for the Bills this season...
-
This isn't the first time Donte has made some type of guarantee. The key thing to note here is that his guarantees normally don't work out.
-
If Spikes wasn't a "star" then I hope you wouldn't argue that Biscuit or Talley were stars either. Spikes in his first two years for the Bills was as respected and feared around the league as much, if not more than, Biscuit & Talley ever were.

Will a Bill rush for 1,000 yards in 2010?

YA Think Fred & Marshawn Are P.Oed ??
strive_for_five_guy replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Probably not. If the Bills are going to be successful, Fred knows he will still get his touches too. Plus, he's still coming off of injury. As for Marshawn, he is getting paid a crapload of money to do nothing but break the law, so I don't see why he'd be pi$$ed either. Maybe someday he'll get "it", but I don't really care either way. I'm suspecting the fact that it's a contract year for him though, he will have some fire when he does get touches this year. -

Spiller will really open up A LOT of eyes this weekend if he makes some plays like those in the video -
"Unknown" joins BILLS to help win.

Haha love the optimism and hope you are right. We will find out in less than a week! I will be doing my part cheering at the Ralph to squish to fish! -
I agree with that. Sure, TJ is 32 and may not have many seasons left. But, we lose Lynch after this year as well. I think TJ would have more value to us moving forward. Seattle may actually find a guy like Lynch useful compared to their current backfield.

I WAS WRONG ABOUT THE SPILLER PICK!!!
strive_for_five_guy replied to John Cocktosten's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
couple points i don't think i've seen yet: 1.) you can't teach speed. if you watch tape of spiller in college and see what he has done in the pros, defenders cannot catch spiller in the open field. 2.) i don't believe the spiller pick is really a "luxury pick". remember, this is a contract year for lynch and fred jackson is 29. if the bills don't successfully trade lynch, this gives them a full year to pound on lynch, and avoid wear & tear to freddy & CJ. next year, lynch is gone, jackson is 30, and spiller has a full year of experience under his belt. so, instead of next year debating whether we need to resign lynch or draft some unknown out of college, we have a RB who has a full year of experience in Gailey's system and was rated far and away as the top RB in this year's draft. and spiller doesn't seem to be an a-hole yet either. and if the rest of the team still sucks, we can focus on drafting for one of those other needs while being assured we have one of the most explosive players in the NFL. -
Bills' Wang is out on the field
strive_for_five_guy replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You can't give anyone else the chance to take your Wang away from you. Given the proper coaching, Wang should really grow.
