  1. I didn't say anything about industry I said it could be a key for economic success don't you believe in the importance of small businesses for economic success.
  2. well they can use specially treated stem cells and make different tissues and supposedly in the near future whole organs - I think they have already made a bladder
  3. He'll make you think Nassib has a rocket arm.
  4. The solution is to let people get any medication they want without a prescription- and to stop giving certain pharmaceutical companies a monopoly on the American market, another solution is let Americans fly into Cuba for medical care, in fact don't restrict any foreign doctors from coming here and practicing medicine just have like a warning label ( warning got medical degree in East Slapacammelstan) sure some of them might not know what they're doing but I've had American doctors who didn't have a clue either- and if a doctor kills more than a couple patients a year you deport them.
  5. If QE was causing some type of massive devaluation of the dollar you'd see it in a wide spectrum of commodities and currency exchange rates not just oil- it's just not there, maybe it's coming who knows - there's a reason I linked to historical inflation rates, what exactly looks different between today's inflation and the inflation we've had the last 99 years? - the one real difference isn't the rate of inflation it's that wages are not keeping up ( in other times almost everyone I knew was getting cost of living adjustments that were keeping up with inflation and maybe a tad better-now not many people I know get that) and savings, ( it's almost impossible to get 2% on a 5 year cd so with even mild inflation you're losing purchasing power). I for one have no doubt that our government would actually like to see a little devaluation to help exports, a few countries most noticeable Japan are blatantly trying to devalue their currency and I think our country would like to follow suit but they have been unsuccessful as yet. The thing is it's not enough to print money to cause inflation the money has to find it's way rapidly into circulation ( I could print 10 trillion dollars but if I kept it in my basement it doesn't make a difference) . The real story is that since the mid 1970s wages for a large percentage of the U.S. workers have been stagnant- and in the last 5 years they have actually declined, this has happened in spite of good productivity gains. So while the top 10% top 1% have made substantial gains the people who drive demand have declining wages and now no longer have access to credit or equity to push aggregate demand. This all leads to a slow growth world with potential for recessionary death spirals ( low demand? cut jobs, hours, wages ,which leads to lower demand) . This is not a world most people will enjoy but I'm sure a few people would love to see a deflationary spiral where they can buy assets for pennies on the dollar and pay slave wages.
  6. The market can remain manipulated longer than you can remain solvent - to misquote Keynes
  7. http://inflationdata.com/inflation/Inflation_Rate/HistoricalInflation.aspx a chart of historical inflation rates
  8. makes you mad because you don't have principles just things you like and things you don't like.
  9. Dornan was in the military maybe he transferred that It's okay to treat the enemy any way you like mentality onto the LAPD - I mean once you describe people as the enemy you can torture them or kill them, desecrate their bodies, burn them with white phosphor.and if you kill a few or a lot of women, children or other civilians well that's war damn it, or if you are a right wing real he man American you can stay state side and lament just not nuking their whole countries- dehumanizing the enemy is a great strategy just better hope none of the returning vets ever get it in their minds that you are the sub-human enemy.
  10. This topic is stupid we've had varying degrees of inflation as long as I remember ( which is from Nixon with his price freezes) - the difference now is wages are not moving with inflation and you can't get an interest rate on your savings while maintaining a reasonable level of risk that keeps up with inflation, This has nothing to do with QE and everything to do with neo-liberal economics and the constant drive to the lowest labor costs possible- and while I understand that the trickle down crowd applauds wealth and income moving from the working class to the managing class and the owning class I find it hilarious that people don't understand when you destroy consumption power from high wage countries and only replace a fraction of that power in low wage counties you of necessity have reduced overall growth. You don't even understand what real wealth is, every person who has gone from unemployed to unemployable is destruction of national wealth, every college graduate who has been delayed from finding a job in his field of study is destruction of national wealth.
  11. actually people will cut spending from other areas unless they just drive around for fun or keep their house at 75 and open a window when they are too warm (which is nobody I know) most people I know are pretty thrifty energy users already and would have to outlay substantial money to upgrade the energy efficiency of their homes or vehicles.
  12. yeah if you are talking about TVs or the latest I-phone - if you are talking about gas for cars or oil for heating your home you're full of ****.
  13. I'm not going to say it's an impossibility for Aaron Williams to play CB at a reasonable level but the guy had the twin flaws of being terrible at flipping his hips and not have very good catch up speed, yeah playing man could help him as he has good size as a CB, I mean god I hope so but in our group his name became a synonym for a WR being wide open ( "did you see AJ Green, he was Aaron Williams open on that play").
  14. The problem with Aaron Williams is that his best position is probably Free Safety where we already have Byrd and it's an unknown how well he'd play there- I guess the one interesting thing is the Jets played with a lot of three safeties - so maybe a 4-2-5 with Landry playing the Scott position?
  15. I don't know if it's the key to economic success maybe it a key to economic success but by any measure it's one of the more awesome developments to happen in the last ten years - Combine it with CAD, 3-D scanning and rapid lowering prices and it's a godsend for fast prototyping and reproducing out-of-stock parts .
  16. Eventually those young people will be old people.
  17. a couple things 1. 27 KWs installed should range about $45,000-$67,500 , more if every single part was top of the line - maintenance contract could add cost as they do need to be occasionally washed or brushed from snow but overall $160,000 seems steep 2. I don't know what the city pays for electricity but for the average joe in WNY 30,000KWHs is $6,000 3. High quality Solar Panels generally have a 20 year warranty but a life expectancy of 30-45 years 4. ROI - don't get too simplistic- solar power is every bit the hedge that gold is against inflation
  18. This what I saw (granted it was his five games on youtube and his senior bowl play )- I got Smith, Barkley, Wilson, Bray, Glennon, Manuel all rated ahead of him then Nassib, Jones, Dysert, and I'm not real sure of the QB class as a whole, even the guy I have rated #1 I think of more as Tony Romo good not Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady or Manning good.
  19. My take on what the Bills might do is let Levitre go pick Eric Fisher first round and move Cordy Glenn inside. Use the Levitre money for another FA
  20. Stupid- Maybin Played at 226 and bulked up to 249 for the combine - Ansah plays at 270 and maybe you'd like him at 275- looks like he's pretty stout against the run and his pursuit is very good but if I wanted to downgrade him I'd say he doesn't have that crazy explosive first step that people look for from a RDE- as for the Bills needing a RDE Anderson, Merriman, Kelsey, and Moore combined for 7 sacks and run defense on that side wasn't very stellar either so yeah it's a need.
  21. Martellus Bennett and Jared Cook are both free agents -I think the Bills could retain Byrd and Levitre and still get one more high level FA so you have to choose carefully where you want to spend your money
  22. yeah but mostly because they don't have access to fighter jets, guided missiles, drones and other military tech- you use the means you have at hand- I do question the intelligence of their targets, targeting average Americans in the hope to get the American government to change policy would imply you think the American government values average Americans oops that is very flawed logic and has zero chance of working, if you could endanger top bankers all over the world you'd either get capitulation or nuclear strikes against you depending on whether you invoked more fear or anger but at least you'd have a chance of getting what you want.
  23. yeah I don't get that suicide thing why don't they sit in a comfortable chair and blow the !@#$ out of things long distance like a sensible person.
  24. I could find another 10-14mil pretty easily- so Byrd, Levitre , and another high priced FA is a possibility - I know Mike Wallace is not a fan favorite but I wouldn't mind depending on the QB - Wallace, Johnson, Nelson has some interesting possibilities and a credible deep threat would help Spiller out.
