Ryan Nassib - QB - Syracuse
....lybob replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
5th round at best if you really want him let somebody else draft him and steal him off their practice squad -
Any way that Mike Mccoy could be head coach and run the offense with Lovie Smith being assistant HC and running the defense

I saw VB a year before and he looked awesome, then he apparently decided not to workout at all and to eat to his hearts content, he didn't look very awesome anymore in fact at times he looked like crap - went to the combine and stunk the place up 5+ forty and like 16 on the bench, came off as a guy who blames everybody else for his poor performance in the interview then tests positive for MJ- the guy has obvious first round talent if and it's a big if he stays motivated - a guy like this could be a pro-bowl player one year and out of the NFL the next -
Getting acquainted with Tyler Wilson.

It's nice to see him perform under a little pressure, some of these QBs are hard to judge because they don't have a DLmen within 5 yards of them and their WRs are Aaron Williams open. -
2003 and 2006 were not much better- 2004 and 2012 were really good years, - I hope people understand that I'm not against drafting a QB I'm against forcing a pick, I'm against "we really need a QB and Losman is the next best guy" type pick- again if the Bills after cold clinical scouting fall in love with a QB do what you have to do to get him but if none of the QBs really impress then stay the course with Fitz try to get Dwayne Bowe, Jared Cook in FA and continue to Build the defense in the draft.

True but needing, wanting, deserving a better QB doesn't make one appear- they are either there or not- some find girls beautiful at 3.30 am when alcohol and desperation take their effect but morning light proves them wrong.

I would like people to study this list of QBs - I think a lot of fans on this board are delusional, I've seen posts where people list 11 of this years QBs and think any one of them will be better than Fitz, nonsense!!! while we all would like to upgrade from Fitz he is by no means the worse QB in the NFL. For the fans who think it will be easy to upgrade from Fitz the truth is 9-10 of this years QBs will be no more relevant in three years than Dave Ragone or Kliff Kingsbury. There are years that 3-4 quality QBs come out but there are also years where there is nada (2007) an average year is one starter better than Fitz and one starter the same or worse than Fitz. This is a weak year for QBs Luck, RG3, Tannehill and Weeden would be rated 1-4 if they were in this class, so I really hope that Nix doesn't let fan pressure force him to pick a QB just to pick a QB, if you really love a QB then move heaven and earth to get him ( Washington, Denver) but picking a QB to appease the fans is a loser move. Also picking a 4-5 round talent in the first round doesn't give the pick first round talent. 2003. Carson Palmer , Byron Leftwich, Kyle Boller, Rex Grossman, Dave Ragone, Chris Simms, Seneca Wallace, Brian St. Pierre, Drew Henson, Brooks Bollinger, Kliff Kingsbury, Ken Dorsey 2004. Losman, Matt Schaub†, Luke McCown, Craig Krenzel, Andy Hall, Josh Harris, Jim Sorgi, Jeff Smoker, John Navarre, Cody Pickett, Casey Bramlet, Matt Mauck, B. J. Symons, Bradlee Van Pelt 2005. Warm Fuzzies Over Televised Gay PDA
....lybob replied to Rob's House's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
geez I just took a look at it now after reading your comment Sage, WTF Rob from your outrage I thought it was some type of frenching, grinding, gay fest, - Gay? that encounter doesn't even rate Italian . -
There are about 11 QBs being mentioned as a good candidate for the Bills- only one of them will be clearly better than Fitz- 8 will never start a game without an injury to the starting QB- two will be of similar ilk of Fitz
-
you are wildly optimistic, the truth is you take the 10-12 QBs people are talking about and on an average draft one will be better than Fitz, one will be equal or worse than Fitz and the rest will be career back-ups or out of the NFL 2005- Aaron Rodgers 2006 - Jay Cutler 2007 - nothing 2008- Matt Ryan Joe Flacco 2009- Matt Stafford, Josh Freeman 2010- Sam Bradford, Tebow, John Skelton 2011- Cam Newton, Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert, Chistian Ponder Dalton, Colin Kaepernick 2012- Luck, RG3, Tannehill, Weeden, Wilson Those in red haven't been proven busts but that's the way I'd bet 2012 was a very good year for QBs and Luck, RG3, Tannehill, Weeden, would all be rated higher than the best QB this year, Wilson is a lucky freak pick just like Brady . I agree with people who say Fitz isn't good enough but don't think you can't do worse than Fitz we can very easily do worse than Fitz in fact I'd say the odds of the QB replacing Fitz being worse are higher than the QB replacing Fitz being better.

Fred will be 32 in Feb and is at an age where RBs fall off a cliff - he can catch and block and that might extended his career another year or two, but while he may be able to spell Spiller for plays if Spiller goes out for an extended time you may be surprised how totally ineffective he has become. Some people wish the Bills were more like New England and one thing that differentiates New England from the Bills is an almost total lack of sentimentalism (if anything they get rid of their older players a year early) and I'm sure they would have taken a hard look at Wilson, Kelsay and Barnett. You don't have to cut Freddie but you should have a plan B ready to go .

I got nothing against Chan as an OC - as a HC I actually think his loyalty to players is a flaw- but if we got Lovie Smith and he wanted Chan as an OC I'd be fine with that.

I've been a Bills fan for a long time so before anybody gets to carried away celebrating just remember Marv is old and soft we can't do any worse Wade is a fat dumb hick we can't do any worse Greg is an arrogant blowhard we can't do any worse Mike is emotional basket case we can't do any worse Dick is an emotionless zombie we can't do any worse Chan is (fill in the blank) we can't do any worse -
I think this is pretty close but I'll add I think there was also a sex angle going on- it would explain why the first 7 break-ins were not reported, the massive data storage, and the bag of sex toys.

This case has some weirdness still waiting to come out I think. 1. One neighbor describes Smith as a loner who likes to shoot guns on his property 2. but this seems to contradict the loner tag another neighbor said Smith would have 30 teenagers on his property at a time so which is it, Loner or teen hangout place 3. Smith had multiple Terabytes of data storage- a reporter described it as being similar to what his news operation had. 4. prescription drugs were found in the teens car but they were anti-diabetic and cholesterol lowering medication, not pain killer, sleep medicine or stimulants 5. a Calvin Klein bag of sex toys were found in the teens car and a baseball bat 6. While the Break-in to the teachers house was thought to happen the 21st the day before the shootings it was not discovered until the 25th by a neighbor as the teacher was on vacation in Spain 7. Smith says he was in the basement and was alerted to the break-in by the sound of breaking glass and footsteps - then he arms himself and sets up an ambush - OK here is the part I don't get he seems to know that there are two intruders, not one not three or four just two- The male comes in gets shoots at the top of the stairs falls down the stairs Smith shoots him in the head, Smith gets the male on a tarp and drags him out of sight (supposedly in 18 seconds) and repositions himself- the girl comes down he shoots her at the top of the stairs she falls down the stairs he tries to shoot her again but the rifle jams (this is where she supposedly laughs) he puts down his rifle pulls out his 22 walks over and put 2 in her chest drags her over to her cousin hears her still trying to breath and delivers the kill shot. 8. Why so fast to the basement, the basement would be the last place I'd look for valuables unless I had been in the house before. 9. Why did the girl go to the basement? didn't she hear the shots ? In the end I think we will find out that these people were not total strangers to each other

two processes always going on 1. getting more talented through the draft, free agency, and the development of young players 2. getting less talented through age, injury, bad personal decisions, and free agency you're only rebuilding if the former is moving in a faster pace then the later- Jackson, Wilson, Barnett to name a few all have declined and could go into an even steeper decline next year- so while I'd like to think to think of us rebuilding next year it's just as likely that we will lose overall talent next year.

I think Mike Wallace is a scary WR but he has to be with a QB who can really go deep and even then his man benefit is to make defenses respect you deep rather than purely production. So if we keep Fitz I say no to Wallace.

I usually just watch the Bills but over the Weekend I watched a lot of football - so my observation is that while the Bills have a few players who look like freaks of nature (Mario Williams, Nigel Bradham) other teams seem to have more than half their players fit that description- I really noticed that in the 49ers Sea hawks game and especially at QB with Wilson and Kaepernick. So do you think it is an actuate observation and if it is do you think the difference is caused by 1. just the type of player we draft 2. some factor in our strength and conditioning program 3. lack of a sophisticated PEDs and masking agents

Merry Christmas to you all who celebrate it
....lybob replied to GG's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Happy hodgepodge of Jewish mysticism tradition, sun god mythology, and Astrotheology superimposed onto pagan rebirth of the sun celebrations and later commercialized into an orgy of shopping but be that as it may anything that brings us time with family and friends is a good thing and I hope all are enjoying that. -

Jared Cook and Martellus Bennett are both Free Agents two guys who have a decent ability to both catch and block -
Holiday (free agent) Wish List...
....lybob replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
going a little different 1. LaRon Landry - Bills need someone to strike a little fear in WRs 2. Martellus Bennett/ Jared Cook- I'd like to see the Bills run 2 TE sets and run the ball more -
Thoughts on defense, who is to blame
....lybob replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
CB- after Gilmore our best CB has been McKelvin, at the very least he can stay within a step of his man, when Williams, Brooks, Rodgers have been in WRs have been so wide open so fast it's almost impossible to put pressure on QBs.- improvement might come from development of young players but LBs and Safeties - there is a generally lack of speed here- Bills need some 3 down LBs- Wilson and Barnett needs to be seriously evaluated RDE- Bills have pocket pushers which is good but they could really use that guy who has a wicked first step, who can make OTs wiff, Smash QBs and can make plays on RBs from the backside - and if they don't totally suck when run at, well that's a bonus baby! first round of Draft in order of preference 1. Damontre Moore DE, Bjoern Werner DE, Dee Milliner CB, Johnthan Banks CB, Manti Te'o LB I generally think DEs and CBs are more important and harder to find than LBs so unless Manti Te'o is considered a Patrick Willis, Ray Lewis type talent he probably ranks lower in my priorities than most people. One tip for drafting CBs you might avoid one that 75% of the evaluators think will probably be a better safety
