Meanwhile in the rest of the world
....lybob replied to /dev/null's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
People have to understand that about 99% of what is said is bullpoop for the masses- if someone actually said yeah send some ships, there would be about a hundred reasons why they'd love to but can't . If there is ever any military action between Israel and Iran it is going to be through gross miscalculation not intention. Israel would love for us to attack Iran but I don't think even our government is that stupid but I've been wrong before. Most of the leaders in the Muslim world are not devout Muslims, that crap is for the poor huddled masses just like most of our family value politicians are out cheating and drinking, 72 virgins in the afterlife? no thanks I'd rather have 6 whores in a Dubai 5 star hotel room. These leaders aren't looking for some grand Islamic rebirth they are looking for ways to stay in power and then transfer that power to their sons. -
Ha ha, haven't seen that in 20+ years, but I would have sworn there was a part when they have a intervention, he denies being a "Girl drink drunk" they say oh yeah opened his closet door and thousands of little umbrellas tumble out- I guess I'll have to stop drinking or start writing sitcoms

LT Wang carted off after hurting left leg
....lybob replied to Delete This Account's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills should have Picked up a OT in the first round or made a trade - if Green is the answer, the question must have been how do we continue to suck for five more years- Wang is at best a backup for the next three years maybe forever - when are we going to demand players who can be building blocks for a solid team not a piece of duct tape that we hope can keep our beater together. Green is a 34 year old journeyman, by the time we get a QB who can take us anyplace he's going to be gone, if he's not a backup then he's a hindrance to a young OT getting experience or a delusion for the front office not getting an real player who can stick around for 5-6 years. -
Bilderbergers meeting in Spain
....lybob replied to /dev/null's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
One of about 20 Elitist secretive organization- who cares - if you want things to run better stop voting by party, stop voting by TV, Radio or print ad, just look where they get their money from and if you don't like where they get their money from don't vote for them- I'll vote for a libertarian, a commie, a greenie, or a tea bagger before I vote for a Democrat or Republican getting Corporate, Union, or AIPAC money again. -
man I wish I had a little wooden Umbrella I love those things- have you ever seen the "Kids in the Hall" sketch "Girl Drink Drunk" they have an intervention and the guy denies he's a "Girl drink drunk" then they open his closet and out tumbles thousands of tiny umbrellas.

Damn it! I wanted to say most of this board seems to be drinking the cool aid but someone beat me to it- I like Bacardi 151, lemon aid and frozen raspberries made into a slushy- 151 is great to have around it does the job fast and you can use it as a fire bomb if needs be.

I think you are mixing up the cause and the effect. -

Typical double standard, where's the outrage?
....lybob replied to Magox's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
For a long time many of the Brazilians have been driving cars that run on both Gas, ethanol or mixes of the two- which fuel they use depends mostly on cost- there were years when ethanol was dominate- but since Brazil found large amounts oil off-shore, gas is cheaper than ethanol- The Brazilians maintain the ethanol producers by requiring 25% ethanol blended with most gas and should the oil peter out or the price of oil sky rocket they will ramp up ethanol production again- of course they have always needed some oil for diesel and jet fuel although they are working on bio-diesel projects. so in summary has Brazil ever totally replaced oil with ethanol? NO! has ethanol ever been the dominate fuel used for private cars? Yes! did Brazil use ethanol to save the planet? NO! Did Brazil use ethanol for energy independence and economic stability Yes!, Could we get off oil? Yes!- Could we get off oil without destroying our way of life? No! at least not anytime soon. -
A draw play for big yardage??!
....lybob replied to Mark Long Beach's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Totally agree- plus the success of the draw play is dependent on generating respect with the passing game something the Bills haven't been able to do lately. -
Whatever happened to personal responsibility?
....lybob replied to Joe Miner's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Wait until the United States defaults and that day is coming it will be postponed as long as possible but barring multiple revolutions in technology or the finding of massive natural resources that day is coming soon- a default on both promises made to our citizens and to our foreign creditors. -
Some interesting player observations from OTAs
....lybob replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Geez I thought you got to see OTAs and had something to report- but no a Chris Brown rehash, Chris Brown who's level of propaganda makes the North Koreans bow and weep in respect and jealousy. -
Meanwhile in the rest of the world
....lybob replied to /dev/null's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Two years ago I'd agree with this - but history is all about errors in judgement, attacking the flotilla was one- the Turkish navy escorting another flotilla would be two- Israel attacking the Turkish Navy would be three and after that anything could happen- the US would be in a tough spot considering that Turkey is a member of NATO- also you have to remember Turkish domestic politics, they are a democracy and very nationalistic - and nothing will get you voted out of office faster than doing something the public feels is a national humiliation. But overall I'd guess that the UN will issue a strong condemnation with no real teeth a in a couple weeks things will be back to business as usual. -
Meanwhile in the rest of the world
....lybob replied to /dev/null's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
1. it was provocation 2. The Israeli blockade has much less to do about smuggled weapons and much more to do about punishing the people of Gaza for electing Hamas leaders. 3. The Israelis were either pretty stupid or pretty arrogant to raid the ships while they were still in international waters that's a violation of international law- Israel is like the 6th leading exporter of military equipment in the world maybe they should get all their ships interdicted. 4. Don't screw with the Turks they're not like the Arabs- they have a large modern military and if you piss them off enough the will to use it. -
Hardy will be the #2 WR
....lybob replied to Wilson from Gamehendge's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hardy has had problems getting separation and Edwards will not throw it into a tight spot, so I doubt he's getting a lot of balls thrown to him unless He has figured out how to get off the line of scrimmage a hell of a lot better than he use to. -
Holy Crap, this team wasn't doing Squats?!?!?!!?
....lybob replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
people might not have know this team didn't do squats in the last decade but everyone knew this team hasn't done squat in the last decade. -
Every year at least one team GETS it.
....lybob replied to grammer_police's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not what you want to hear but I think Detroit has the best chance to be that team. -
The best part of making pot legal would be allowing farmers to grow industrial hemp without restriction- something they should allow anyways since industrial hemp has virtually zero psychoactive potential but they have the screwed up excuse that it would be used to hide illicit plants- the truth is no self-respecting pot grower would have their plants anywhere near industrial hemp as any cross pollination would have a tremendously degrading effect on their seeds potency.

Per PFT, Lendale White to be released
....lybob replied to clearwater cadet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives

Holy Crap, this team wasn't doing Squats?!?!?!!?
....lybob replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nothing new, I've heard reports for years that the Bills SC was mainly work on machines- probably under the theory of "please God don't let a player get injured in my weight room" basic movements with heavy free weights which is what really builds functional strength also have higher risk of injury and need close supervision- btw who hasn't noticed how few of the Bills rookies gain muscular weight between year 1 and year 3 in comparison to other teams- my little joke use to be " well we can be pretty sure that none of the Bills are using performance enhancing drugs". -
Fred Jackson to Marshawn:
....lybob replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
he would like to be traded or cut what is so hard to understand like McGahee and Peters he doesn't like it here anymore -
I didn't mean to make such a specific point- I was trying to convey that trajectory is usually a greater determinant to how people or nations feel about their situation than absolute circumstances.

Two guys making $40,000 a year, one is very happy the other is miserable and angry, what's the difference? one was formerly making $20,000 a year and the other was formerly making $80,000- peoples feelings have about their lives have more to do about their relative position than their absolute position.

How has the Oil Spill affected your life?
....lybob replied to murra's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
This is simple BP, Halliburton, and Transocean have to pay for the clean up and have to make people whole- how much will that be? no one knows it depends on so many factors. We shouldn't let them hide behind each other, they each pay a third and if they think that is too much let them sue each other for the difference- as for being an accident yes it is, in the same way a drunk driver hitting somebody is an accident, it's an accident they are totally responsible for- I'm a realist and I know we have to drill oil and mine coal but I also know we can't have one group making the profits when things are going good and another group getting the S**t when things go wrong. I know that businesses have to follow safety regulations and if they can't do that and make a reasonable profit then they have to raises their prices or go out of business.
