If Kelly was owner...
Beebe's Kid replied to Wilson from Gamehendge's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kelly didn't mention anything about warm or cold weather...just California, which is pretty far from California. Timmy Tebow might not be as bad as the truly bright people, who happen to have never taken a snap in the NFL, would have you believe. Another quick thing, what is with hating on Flutie? Wow, I didn't realize people disliked him so much. The guy comes in and plays his ass of for this team, finds ways to win games, that didn't necessarily require 400 yards passing, and there is that much animosity against him? I kind of miss the playoffs, and seeing that unrelenting effort out of QB. I don't give a flying s#@t where our QB comes from, I am just concerned where he is taking us. -
Kelly: Move on from Edwards. Target Tebow. (linkage)
Beebe's Kid replied to Lv-Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe a problem is disagreeing with everything that is said for the sake of disagreeing. Jim Kelly is still very much the face of this franchise. He continues to support this team, and the fact that he is still around keeps fans that remember the good old days excited. He isn't exactly what I would call a "big dummy," and his comments were not even ill-intentioned. The fact that anybody could read that and come back with so much negativity is a microcosm of what is wrong with media today. It is sad that constant bashing and negativity seems to be so chic. If Jim is impressed by Tebow, maybe you give him a second look. To act like Tebow is never going to be an NFL talent is a little bit premature. Florida is a talented team, but I would tend to think that TT had a small role in that. The guy is a monster, and he has a canon for an arm, and knows how to win. I know that Jim said a guy like Tebow, and that he hasn't actually been drafted yet either, so even if I thought Tebow was just an over rated hack that happened to be one of the most decorated QB's in the history of college football, I wouldn't have to worry just yet. From what I had read already, Kelly, has been in contact with Wilson this entire time. He wants to keep a team in WNY, and is a proven winnner...just one of those guys that has "it." I think this is great, and it amazes me that even with a glimmer of hope, that there is still so much negativity. Winning is an attitude, and our fan base needs to have it too. There is a lot of talk about the fan base, and how great it is...why don't we show it and support our team? It would be nice if our fans yelled at the fish this Sunday, instead of our own guys for once. I feel that if every time I made a mistake, I was met with the profane screams and boos of 73,000 of my closest friends, I may have to question the 12th man, and home-field advantage. -
How Bad is Buffalo if 10mill per year won't get it done?
Beebe's Kid replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is just plain crazy!! The sky is falling, the sky is falling. If I get to be that jaded, that I couldn't find a single positive in anything about the team, I hope I am done watching by then. Worst franchise in the NFL, hardly. There are clubs in far worse shape than us. It will be amazing what a little help on the management and coaching side brings to this team. Don't worry though your doom and gloom outlook on life is chronic...you'll always be able to find something that wasn't good enough, something worth dedicating 397 threads to. I just hope it is "Why we didn't win the Super Bowl by enough points." That would be nice. -
Brohm may very well be the guy!
Beebe's Kid replied to Lenigmusx's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You think we should give Drew a call and see what he is up too? I love this...the 15th thread on Brohm... he is good, he's no good, GB cut him, Brady, Romo, Favre, Kelly, and on and on. I feel sorry for the new QB and the new coach. There will be no adjustment period, before the "experts" get all over it run them out of town... How about before we fire the next coach and begin crying about the one that got away, or before we ship Brohm of to the UFL or enshrine him in Canton, we: A. Hire a Coach B. Let Brohm take a snap. That being said I don't feel it is unreasonable for him to set every franchise passing record next year, and that's where I am going to set the bar. I mean with Mike Leech as coach he can't miss. -
Opening topic on Rome is Burning
Beebe's Kid replied to Leonidas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First things first...this tool-bag was filling in for Romey... At least Rome would take the chance to throw in a few Orenthal emails, and the "She's out doing coke, with Pedro Guerrero" clip. This guy was trying to say something shocking and funny, of which he is neither. Second, is this not the kind of place when this tea-bagger takes a cheap shot at B-Lo (I guess a disclaimer stating that I am from Erie, Pa is necessary) and our team, and we can't make fun of his wife???? The stuff that I read on here every day offends me more than that. I was proud to see that somebody had the presence of mind to track down his ball and chain and throw up the link... Why are Buffalo fans not afraid to call their players, coaches (I'll let us off the hook on this one under the current duress,) and owner, every name in the book, and call for their heads every week, but worry about being classless while tearing up this s@*t-stain's wife? I believe he fired the first shot, and it was a dirty one... That's fine, but you know what f@$k all the bad-mouthing our team and the great fans we have!! I see more bickering between fans on this site than any other I have ever been on, and I mean not just question of opinion, but they get personal. We really need some solidarity...the Ralph is way too nice to opposing teams these days. You a Bills' fan...come on in. Opposing player/fan? You are going to wish you would have gone to Miami for a game!! I don't mean be rude, but be a real 12th man again. The negativity is going to have to stop...and if we do somehow pull off a miracle transformation of this franchise, it would give no greater pleasure, after enjoying a win with our fans than to shove the Lombardi Trophy right up this f#@k-stick's a$$, then his wife, and if that nasty thing doesn't swallow it up, we're shipping up to Boston!! -
If Shanahan was any good as a head coach he'b be more succssful at Denver, as as such wouldn't be available to the Bills, because he wouldn't be (have gotten) his arse kicked (out of Denver) at the end of (last) season. I am not against Shanahan, just making the point that most coaches wore out their welcome somewhere...so you could plug any name into this scenario. The exception being Cowher, who said he doesn't want to make a decision till after the season., which when I decode that I end up with cheap old Ralph ramming the season tickets I just purchased up my arse because it was obviously a marketing ploy. Breathe in, breathe out... I want a solution 6 months ago, but there is light at the end of the tunnel, and I don't think it's a train...

Marty Ball won't be coming to Buffalo
Beebe's Kid replied to NY Nole's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ralph's plan is working perfectly...now just time to sell the tickets the last three home games, they are already sold, but with a marketing plan like this he'll sell them again. Then he and TO will go skinny dipping in the money pool, when will everybody see it!!!???!!! This may be hard to believe, but these coaches may be waiting to see exactly what their options are before comitting, hence the "I am not going to coach again," approach... Cowher said exactly that...he is going to wait until after the year...Marty could change his mind (see Farve, Brett,) maybe he doesn't wand to commit before he knows his options...and so on. -
What's with all the LEAKS out of OBD?
Beebe's Kid replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This actually makes the most sense... What could make the situation with the Bills worse? How about the constant post about how Ralph is trying to screw them with "marketing?" Very deep conspiracy theory, and other than being completely full of s@*t, it might be true... Billnut, you actually sound like you might know a thing or two about marketing... to bring this up now, and to not have delivered by the ST deadline would be a failure of epic proportions. You wold only be further alienating a tired a weary fan base. Although there is probably no real threat of losing the fan base, why take the chance? I think they are trying to get the ball rolling and come out swinging into next year. I bet they would like to show potential FA's (TO included) that the losing culture is unacceptable, and despite previously failed attempts, we are going to build a winner...or at least give it an honest effort. We want a coach, and a good one...we know the QB was a problem, we're addressing it, we have great fan base, and if you come in for an interview, you can meet the future owners who will be here to take care of you when I pass on. Or maybe the leaks are coming from Deepthroat on the Grassy Knoll, and the mafia who has an interest in merchandise sales, DAMN THEM TRYING TO SCREW ME!!! Blah Blah Blah Blah... -
Flutie got us to the playoffs, but I don't think that was good enough at the time...looking back they were the best of times, they were the worst of times. Oh, and the sky is falling, we might as well just brace ourselves...Rick Venturi is the only one answering the phone... For crying out freaking loud...is there any any optimism in here? Ralph WILL NOT, Ralph is gonna screw us, Ralph this, Ralph that. Ralph has kept an effing team in WNY instead of moving them...what would you spend all of your time complaining about if he had moved them?? I am sure you could find something...like the weather, too hot, too cold, too sunny, too dark, too windy, too calm... How about some constructive freaking feedback. It would be best if we planted that attitude on the opponents boards...wait a minute, are you wearing teal and orange? Marty Does make sense...Wade I am not sure about. Marty former AFL Champion Buffalo Bill, back with Ralphy to return us to the glory? Really in the end that would be a great story, after his falling short, and our historic O'fer.... I am misting up just thinking about the locker room speech at half time as we come roaring back to finally win the big game, for Ralph, Marty, TO and you!!

I will personally never root against the Bills. How could i ever root for Miami, or Brady? Rooting for them to lose is asinine. I will say that the loses are easier to take. A month or two ago yesterday rips my heart out, but I actually saw a lot of positives in that game and began to get a glimmer of hope. I know the draft pick is very important, but maybe I am confusing senility with serenity, but I have a feeling that it is all going to work out for us... This could be my typical optimism that leads to my crashing to the ground with a resounding thud around the middle of next year, but it feels a little different. I think we are on the verge, my friends.

Did Poz suck because he didn't have any interceptions or sacks? I get the impression that people would say he sucks simply because he doesn't put up "sexy" numbers on D. I also hear about his three years in the league....Poz missed considerable time his rookie year, and is playing with a cast on his arm this year. The guy is always around the ball, and while he is not Ray Lewis, I feel he is progressing and will be a staple on the D for years to come, barring injury. If our defense wasn't completely decimated by injury he would look a lot better. He and Mitchell play very well together. I think Scott is doing a great job at LB, he seems to be a natural.

A Few Thoughts About The Game
Beebe's Kid replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great Post! I agree with almost every point, including the one about Bell, if for no other reason than to lock up people who read posts just to bash them. That is ten fold since this was a good, relevant, and coherent post. Wood...quick recovery, brother. I would love to see him back on the line next year, but more importantly walking correctly without life-long complications. I think the injuries to the OL, in reference to another post, are due to a couple things: 1. Poor strength and conditioning and 2. S#$t luck. There is no amount of training that could have saved Wood today. Unfortunately I think that this brings to light one of the most overlooked abilities in the game....the ability to keep yourself on the field. Particularly OL, they have people slamming and falling all around them all the time...Really makes you appreciate the guys that sustain long successful careers at these positons. As far as Perry goes...I am a little sad for the ol'boy. He really doesn't stand a chance...does he? I loved his passion and it was great seeing a coach that spoke to players, which I believe is called coaching. One of my favorite moments of the game was after a failed 3rd down, when Owens was saying he was open...he and Fitz sat down with a computer and reviewed the play. That is team work fellas. Fitz was fun to watch, but the consensus is he is just not good enough to be our QB. Another note was that when Fitzy and Owens are going over that play, Edwards couldn't have looked more like a douche...looking over and walking away. I supported Trent for a long time, but he gave up...and this I can not forgive. Williams looks like a keeper. Great play. Poz...I always feel he looks good. I was actually impressed with Whitner's play. He seemed to be a big help, and I would love if he and Byrd were able to be on the field for a whole game, healthy. The sad part is for all of our talk about a QB, and LB's and DT's, although the OL gets plenty of recognition as an area of concern, I believe it may be worse than a few new pick ups. The injuries are effing disgusting. Our running game is non existent. I know there are a lot of Lynch haters, which is typical when a guy gives you back to back 1000 yard seasons his first two years in the league, but I love having him and Freddy on the field at the same time. I don't think there would be much that would please me more than seeing those two with a healthy line in front of them. On the same subject, I really liked Freddy lining up at WR today. I think there has been enough of us that liked that idea from the gate, but Tricky Dick would only get as crazy as a reverse every third week (that took an eternity to develop.) T.O. Truth be told, this guy knows how to win. I have been thinking about some comments he made about not knowing how to lose... When I looked at him with Fitz today, never have I wanted him to come back so much. Even when he first signed and I had visions of he and Lee catching 80 per, and double digit touchdowns, did I think he was as good for this team as he is. He was a hot head, but he is now an elder statesman... He is a competitor and doesn't want to lose. He doesn't want the ball simply for stats, he wants to win, and he has confidence that he is a great way to make that happen. This team needs that more than anything else, in my opinion. A winning attitude. That is why I have always hoped Kelly would get more involved, because losing wasn't ok for him. It's hard to win the in NFL, but losing is harder ten fold. I know is cocky, but confidence isn't always a bad thing. If Trent had one iota of TO's confidence we might be talking playoffs. I say we get him involved, and as his swan song he helps turn this team into a winner. That would definitely overshadow his past debaucheries, especially when McNabb starts getting a pension with no rings, and Romo proves to be an overpaid hack. At the end of the day, he was so vilified could stand tall. I like him, and would welcome him back. I haven't felt that way all year, it has been a roller coaster ride, but today he showed me he wants to win, along with the fact that if you get him more than 3-4 forced passes he heats up, and maybe the dropping stops... As has been said. We lost a heartbreaker, but I have never felt so good after a loss. -
McCargo's time to shine!! Spencer Johnson will pick up anything that J-Mac can't handle...no problem. I think I will let them play the game on Sunday before I concede 300 yards to MJD. Johnson put up good numbers against us, but we were in the game with a chance to win. Jones had ridiculous numbers against us, and we won that game. Fortunately we have Fitzy starting, and while he has not shown a single sign of why he should continue to get paid to play football (NFL anyway) I am sure that he will prove to be the second coming in Jacksonville.
-
Fitzy is our QB...with his lightning fast decision making, and his pin point accuracy often overlooked by the sheer force with which he distributes the ball...we can't lose. Maybe the running game will show up this week. If that is the case, and Fitzy can not make any big mistakes and maybe earn a shot to EVANS downfield...I think we can win. Of course...that being said we could have won all of our games if we had done those things. ***This just in...the game between the Bills and Jaguars, in Jacksonville this weekend, will be FOUR, count em', FOUR QUARTERS LONG. This will mean that the Bills' will have to extend their effort, and possible conserve their defense for an extra quarter of play this week. This a good team for 3 quarters every week...let's see a little ball control, fellas!!

"This is just before things got weird."

I agree with the sentiment that JP was not run out of town because of one play... the guy was damn-near solely responsible for my acid reflux. If anybody denies his athletic ability, they are doing so in between licking windows. He just didn't have the decision making ability it takes to make it in the NFL. He will probably come back, and may make a fine backup, but he isn't getting younger and when in the NFL, pure athleticism doesn't cut it (see Johnson, Rob.) I hope JP does well, and I hope we quit taking project picks, or at least until we have somebody able to complete the project!

6. Brian Brohm, QB, Louisville (6-3, 223) Previous: Same Polished pure passer in the Jim Kelly mold. I know that I like that. I did follow him, albeit from a distance in college. He was very good. Anybody compared to Jimbo is at least worth a shot in my book, it's not like we going to mess with the delicate chemistry of our current offense. I was thinking we could try to snag Colt Brennan from Washington, then I read he was injured. Interesting Read I know that the Bill Walsh thing will bring up the haters, and a mention of Joey Harrington et al, but it is intriguing to say the least. Brohm was one QB I was curious about in the past few months, and Brennan was the other. I know this much...there is change at OBD. I am excited to be a Bills' fan, for the first time since the Cleveland game. Even though we are talking about next year, and the season is just over half done, I like it. I can only speak for myself, but we have little else, and it really seems that we are making a move here. The old man wants a winner, and I believe he is going to give the money and the effort. If he doesn't I'll have egg on my face as a fan, but it will be gone soon, because let's face it...there are going to be changes, for better or worse, after the inevitable. I will reserve enshrinement or damnation to the Island of Todd Collins until he at least plays a series or two. I hope that he gets in the Miami game... he should have the playbook mastered by then, even if he needs to get some opposing defenders as tutors.
-
The great divide on Brohm begins....to your corners. Let the guy take a snap first...
-
He and Tally are constantly going back and forth. I wonder if Bubby Brister and Hardy Nickerson are doing the same thing with Steelers' fans. I feel it says a lot about the franchise that so many of the old players are so passionate about football in Buffalo. There was a tweek suggesting that Kelly be GM, Bruce President, Thurman HC, Reed OC, Talley DC, and Tasker STC... I believe that was from Thurman's wife. I only joined Twitter yesterday when I read that TT said there was big news at OBD. I recommend it for fans. It would be kind of nice to have them on here too... Are there any former players/coaches that are members and post here?
-
The sad part is he doesn't even know yet. He had to finish off his tanning package, so he has been laying the booth since 10 this morning.... WTF was he there for? Emergencies? I would say we have had a few of them....like Fitzpatrick touching the ball.
-
To the OP, I think is was a fine post, I agree. It is funny when somebody that has to disagree with everything said, can only find a typo in your post. You stay classy.
-
Well put... I was wondering how quick the rest of the team could learn a playbook, hoping he would bring one with him!!

If Bobby April is so great
Beebe's Kid replied to Geno Smith's Arm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Steve Johnson is not even human. The pure amount of athleticism and leadership he would display, if we would only put him on the field, would revolutionize the game forever!!!! We don't know what we have, and will be sorry when he is immortalized at Canton. At least we will be able to look back at his 12 catches and say we were there!!! -
Fools! Why would you want a guy that led one of the most explosive offenses in history associated with play calling? We have the guy that held the esteemed positions of holding the clipboard for Rob Johnson, and Kelly Holcomb!!
-
Will everyone be on board with the next hire?
Beebe's Kid replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wanted to insert the laughing smiley face, but that is kind of the problem I think you are referencing. Will there be bitching? Absolutely. Our fan base is very negative, which is understandable, but it is compounding the problem rather than helping. There are a lot of bright spots on this team, but it would take them going to another team and ripping us to shreds as opponents for a lot of fans to see that. It seems that the negativity has become somewhat fashionable, which is annoying to me. I know the losing has been hard...believe me I know!! The fact remains that I don't want to root for another team, and if this team ever left, I may never watch football again. I don't know, but the point is, I don't believe that Wilson has put inferior product out there with the intention of letting us eat cake. I think he, like most depression era businessmen, tried to get by on the cheap, hoping it would all work out. It didn't. Now he needs to go against all that he knows, and all that has made him successful, and pony up. The funny part is, even if it doesn't get better, we will be here 4 years from now offering our solutions and hoping it does.
