  1. Unfortunately this is kind of the case...Yeah, it's an NFL job, but it is almost sure to land you in the unemployment line, or back at the bottom of the food chain. You will almost never be considered for an HC job again, unless you toil in the coordinator ranks for several years. Wade was an exception, but he was also the benefactor of John Butler as GM, so he didn't completely crash and burn as HC. Thanks for calling them like you see them. I am grateful I don't see them like you do. I would, personally like to have Frazier as HC. I did not always feel like this, but I was under the influence of Cowher-Mania...I am glad that has worn off.
  2. Dude, St. Johnson has 12 career catches. He is a proven NFL talent, and will be the one that spearheads this team's return from obscurity. For all of the griping that everybody at OBD is clueless, the amount of support that people give SJ is amazing.
  3. That's great... We NEED the red end zones again.
  4. For the 16,000th time... Teams with established QB's are in the playoffs, and rarely need coaches, teams that are having trouble developing QB's and other players end up where we are...coach shopping. Cowher wants an easy job...if he's looking for easy, it isn't in Buffalo. That would probably be why he told the Bills "No." I know he didn't hold a press conference and specifically address the fans, but he did tell the Bills "No."
  5. Wow...I think your're, like, really on to something here, Scoob. Meanwhile back in the real world....
  6. I bet you never thought of going to the contact page of the teams site!! Does anybody have an emaile address for Russ Brandon? You know, like one he will check?
  7. Oh they will... We couuld win the Super Bowl, and they would complain. The complaining is all that keeps some of them going. I agree with you, last year's draft was a success, and I am really hoping for more of the same this year. Reports that I have heard have been mixed on Wood, as far as when he will see the field. There are quite a few that say he'll be back by training camp. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
  8. Warm milk and cheesecake all around!!!
  9. I agree. To the OP, please reign in your excitement, and keep the thread starting to a minimum. Maybe hang out and read some things for a while...make some comments, get used to what is going on. Starting these "bold" threads is going to lead to your being on everybody's ignore list and/or banned. Just a bit of advice, take it or leave it.
  10. Hmm.... could this have anything to do with the fact that they are trying to win a Super Bowl?? What would you like them to do...tell they guys they are preparing for PLAYOFF GAMES (Man, I miss those) they are on their own, because they finally got an HC job... still don't smell that coffee.
  11. Grimm is the assistant head coach in Arizona...just as he was in Pittsburgh. He has been passed over, because he got f#$ked right in his arse. The teams that let him walk would have been a lot farther ahead to have retained him. This dude is going to get an HC job, and when he does he will have a something to prove, and of course the fact that he is a very successful coach. I like the two of those together. We are a proud fan base, who has stuck it out, and we have something to prove. Might be too good of a fit.
  12. Well, that's just not a fair question...with a once in a lifetime talent like Thomas Jones. That is complete sarcasm. Give me a Schott and a bear....Hell, I'll take two Schotts, what do ya say Marty?
  13. @Chadwick0705 it's all good but, I have no idea what Jan 15th is That is what he told me when I asked him about it via Twitter.
  14. I agree. In Pittsburgh, he had to have great drafts, and was constantly rebuilding. They would keep a few core players, but for the most part replaced players when their FA time came. The Bills spend money too, just on the wrong guys. We would just need to redirect where we spend, and he would have to actually coach young players. I think he wants to walk into a playoff situation, and if that's the case, he isn't the guy for us. We are close, we are not St. Louis, but we need a coach who wants to build a legacy, not pad one. I think I could coach the Bills I had a guarantee that I could spend whatever, whenever. The fact that Cowher left the game to begin with raises questions about his commitment. I think he is the best available, but I do question his willingness to work.
  15. How's aboot "Got Moustache?" Already threw down my double-sawbuck...
  16. Agreed You're not serious are you? If he didn't play every offensive snap since he came to town, it was damn close. This is a guy that was heading to Misfit Island. Lock him up for 5 years on the cheap.
  17. The reason nobody slams Sal for his "misses" is because there really isn't any. The fact that he reports something that is going to be reported anyway is pretty good considering this "gym-class hero" does it before all of the mainstream guys you feel don't feel get the proper recognition. He may just have mentioned the Connelly Cup nomination in his bio because he is proud...like you and your advanced degrees. Nobody said you are clinging to them and your 9-5 because you desperately wish your life had gone another direction and feel hell bent on ranting against the only guy that hasn't been flinging he said/she said s@#t against the wall, hoping something sticks.
  18. To say Walsh was wrong on a bunch of QB's could easily be, "A lot of QB's that Walsh could have turned into stars were thrust onto losing teams, and expected to perform by coaches that lacked the ability to develop a QB in the NFL." I know there are a list of examples...Carr, Harrington, etc, but look at their situations. Montana was actually scouted and drafted by Walsh. Walsh saw him as the leader of his ideal offense. He drafted him, mentored him, and constructed the West-Coast Offense around him. He the, subsequently, won a bunch of Super Bowls, and lead teams that were relevant for the remainder of his career. I have read that he didn't like Montana on this board before, but when I read about it, all I could find was what I said above, I didn't make this up. All of this being said, one of the 2-3 quintessential qualities in a QB is confidence. Once somebody has their confidence shattered, it is almost impossible to pick up the pieces and resurrect a career. Trent is broken.
  19. I believe I read somewhere that Clausen never played in a game under 40 degrees, so his designation as a "cold-weather QB," would be inaccurate. I think the whole concept of CWQB is way over rated. This weekend will be the only snow game this year, and only the second game played in "winter" conditions. I understand the playoffs would be wintry, but we would have to make the playoffs, and then be fortunate enough to have been an high enough seed to secure a home game. This is for the umpteenth time...Kelly played his college ball in Miami. Yes he grew up near Pittsburgh, but how many high school football games are played in wintry conditions? The answer is almost none. To look for a QB based on where he played is foolish. You need to look at a QB that has the tools to perform in the weather. Strong arm, ability to improvise, be a strong leader and make quick decisive reads. That is the formula for a cold weather QB. I think you misread Evan's preference for Losman...his man-love was simply just a case of "A QB that can get the ball down field, and actually be a teammate, not a check down throwing, how's my hair, "I'm not a fan," too good for you loner, like Trent. I supported Trent, but he lost his starting job because he was thrown into the fryer and couldn't take it. That is not an unusual response, but that is why franchise QB's are not a common commodity. Trent game up in Nashville, and got benched. He had no faith in his teammates, and they lost faith in him. Evans and TO got tired of having AVP sending them streaking down the sidelines every freaking passing play, only to come back after a false-start, which a good QB probably would have spent some extra time with the OL, or a sack, or a 2 yard completion. Fitzpatrick is the only one that, I think, should DEFINITELY not be back. He can't throw. Period. To say that Brohm will not be back is insane. I have a suspicion that we have him because Nix said to go get him. The kid is going to surprise a lot of people. You can save that and roast me for it if it isn't true. I think that Brohm has a future in the NFL, and I hope it's with the Bills. That being said, a decent FA would be a welcome addition, but we do not need to draft a QB when we could get a physical player, which is in serious need on this roster.
  20. I am going to go out on a limb and say that Nix is probably the reason that Brohm is in Buffalo. I really don't think that Brandon was sitting around, and came up with the idea on his own. They may have even asked Nix who he thought was a diamond in the rough. Now, you are telling Nix to keep looking based on your professional, can't-miss assessment of him in Atlanta in the AVP-CF-Gun offense we run.... Nix has been touted as one of he elite talent evaluators in the NFL, and has a resume to back that up. If Nix thinks Brohm is the guy, I am going to go with him. It would be nice to have a big name, but the FA world is much more realistic, as we need the draft picks to start filling holes, not getting a QB, when Nix, essentially, already did that. I like the Nix hire, and I like the Brohm idea. He showed some good things last week in the Atlanta pounding. He threw the ball well, showed excellent arm-strength, and I think he settled down and played a lot better as the game went on. I think if Fewell would stop be a little Dick, he would have let the kid take a few chances down field. But Fewell is going to air on the side of caution, all the way to the unemployment line. I think this is exciting stuff, and I am excited to be a Bills fan. I know that that could come back and blow up in my face, as it has for the last decade, but f%&k it, who else would root for?
  21. Ralph has resources. He still has the first dollar he ever made, it is just a matter of getting him to part with these resources.
  22. GM then HC Found this on BillZone. Hopefully this is true. If so, this will help a lot of posters sleep this evening.
  23. If Seattle fires Mora...he could get us to the playoffs.... I opened the door...
