  1. I think they got a bit too fixated on defense at the expense of WR talent. I didn't hate the Von Miller contract and still think Elam will become a very good NFL starting CB...........but defensive talent wasn't the biggest area of concern for me going into that post-13-seconds offseason. It was WR. Job #1 is to make your QB look good. Putting their biggest chips into the defense was a gamble, IMO. They should have come out of that offseason with their future WR1........whether it were via trade or draft. What's frustrating is that they had already made this mistake in 2019 when they passed on a bunch of WR's in the draft in favor of trading up for Cody Ford.......then had to turn around and deal their #1 pick in an elite 2020 WR class to get a veteran WR1 because they'd fallen behind by passing on guys like Metcalf and AJ Brown. That should have told them in their mind that they were going to have to go back to the well at WR in round 1 in the next couple drafts........but they did not. Beane has been a step too slow at the position..........and because he was so terrible with the cap early in his tenure it's kept them a step behind.
  2. Nah, c'mon. Boyd is a big rangy, long armed possession receiver. 6'2" with 32" arms. Shakir is a small target. He is about 6' tall but with arms the same length as the 5'6" Deonte Harty at 28". Not really an option outside because of that lack of length and when they've tried to use him on deep throws he's had trouble tracking the ball. So he is going to be a slot guy only. They've done a good job of keeping his throws short and intermediate this season and letting him do what he does best........run after the catch. He's like a RB with the ball in his hands. He's an unusual type.........it's hard to draw a reasonable comparison.
  3. Yeah he's effectively filled the role as WR4 that Gabe had in his first couple seasons. He does it differently, with YAC instead of getting over top of the defense like Gabe.........but effectively similar results........he stacks up yards when defense's lose track of him. Problem is the WR2 Gabe continues to be a disappointment and Stef Diggs is playing like a shadow of his former self...........and the 3rd option is either Cook or Kincaid and a RB and possession receiving(at this stage) TE aren't as impactful in those roles if the 2 main ingredients aren't excellent. It's why, despite some promising young talent they have their worst WR corps since 2019.
  4. It's hyperbole to say that Edmunds was considered "bad". He was just a huge underachiever in Buffalo........and Terrel Bernard is showing exactly why. McDermott's defense should make a star out of a MLB............it made Preston Brown the leading tackler in the league in 2017 for chrissakes.........but Edmunds could never do everything from the position. Bernard has restored what should be "the norm" at the position..........a ton of tackles and big plays of all sorts. Edmunds has astonishingly made some plays in coverage this season..........but that's the only change. His production around the LOS is still anemic.......tackle numbers still low........0 sacks 0 QB hits and just 5 TFL to go with 1 FF and 1 FR. Bernard has not only produced his share of INT's...........but 6.5 sacks, 10 QB hits 9 TFL and 3 FF and 3 FR. If a player with Edmunds' pedigree and Edmunds' body had done that he might be looking at first team All Pro. Bernard has only further exposed the deficiencies in Edmunds game...........trying to paint it any other way is foolish.
  5. They need stud WR's. Fact. This is a deep draft for WR but I think there will be a bunch of them taken in round 1. They likely won't get multiple potential starters.........but that's what they need..........and it's a critical need.
  6. I'd say they need to draft 3 they can roster from this class. They probably aren't going to be able to bring in any upgrades in free agency. Time to make moves on that market was when guys like Hill and AJ Brown were put on the market. Now everybody is seeing how dead in the water your offense can look without at least 2 stud receiving targets............and how much better having a 3rd can make a roster look.
  7. Yeah the first deep throw to Diggs was an easy opportunity for Diggs to stop and take the PI with the DB running with his back to the ball. There has been a lot of that with our receivers this season. Usually more Davis than Diggs but there has been a lack of awareness in the moment. Perhaps Diggs thought the slight chance that the pass just barely got thru the defender was worth risking getting nothing out of the play............PI stats don't go under WR yardage you know.........but you gotta' take those big gimme yards by fighting back for the under thrown ball.
  8. Josh needs a lot less golf and a lot more work on his mechanics and chemistry with his receivers this coming offseason. He talked about getting back to his offseason mechanics training in the postgame today........but he's clearly not putting in the work he was prior to the 2021 season. After 13 seconds I think he thought he had neared the pinnacle of his profession but he's regressed back closer to Cam Newton 2.0 than the passer he was then. Time for him to get serious about winning before his own talent regresses back to the pack.
  9. I believe it's a back injury for Diggs. I think it was reported that he had a back injury earlier in the season. But also, Brady has killed the pass game in general. Everybody but Cook looks worse in the pass game with Brady than they had with Dorsey. The sample size is just small enough and people are still feeling sated about the Dorsey firing that they haven't gotten around to their pitchforks just yet.
  10. No. But if you are going to try to be a punctuation Nazi(in addition to your other glorifications of The Third Reich).........you could begin by knowing that it's not called "repeating dots" ..........it's called an ellipsis. Also, be sure to use periods at the end of all of your sentences so that you don't look hypocritical or hilariously ignorant.........or both. You're welcome.
  11. Shoulda' renamed it the Unified Football Organization.
  12. It's not implausible that they could add both Ifedi and Collins to the PS. During the season they might prefer to keep some young guys on the PS but going into the playoffs you probably want more veterans who you can trust to step in and start the next week in the event of catastrophic injuries. They aren't risking much by releasing young players from the PS this late in the season. They've basically been unclaimed free agents all season, have no runway left to show themselves off in practice with other teams and are just going to be signing futures deals in the January.
  13. It's probably just the old uniform number flashback. They don't play or look anything alike when playing. Shakir is a herky-jerky RB-type athlete who plays like a small target. Sanders was a very fast and smooth operator but also had a large catch radius because he was acrobatic in his prime. Shakir is #10 and people identify Sanders as #10 from his best days as a star with Denver.......it was thought he'd be #10 with the Bills but he chose #1.
  14. I just want to run it by @Beck Water and @DabillsDaBillsDaBills and make sure it's OK to sign him........since he was questioned regarding the shooting death of a then pregnant GF(he was uncertain if he was the father at that time and had to take a paternity test). Which is all why he wasn't an early draft pick, as he was expected to be. I mean the police said he wasn't a suspect so it's probably cool, right? But then again they have apparently never identified a suspect of any kind in the case either. So there is that whole "never been proven innocent either" thing.
  15. "Pretty good sense" and "know for sure" are not the same thing, right? And right now Miller hasn't caught a case.........so perhaps there is actually reasonable doubt about her initial and later recanted story. But I'd hate to interrupt a good figurative lynching with common sense.
  16. Why is that the only scenario? And why is it not "plausible" that she was being irrational, punitive or untruthful? And why does Miller leaving the home have to be "fleeing" because she called the cops and not "walking away" from an argument and getting the cops called on him because of it? Be honest.........is your perspective because your ex-stripper, multiple-rich-athlete-dating baby momma' was always delightful whenever she was pregnant and angered about not getting something she wanted from you? And because you would never walk away from an argument with a significant other to diffuse the situation? And why was this poor girl so nice to you if you weren't psychologically manipulating and/or grooming her from a young age? I don't know about you, DaBillsDABillsDaBills..... Maybe you are a good guy.......but it just doesn't seem plausible as I am piecing this all together.
  17. I wanted the Bills to focus on offense in the 2022 offseason but you people constantly throwing yourselves over the Miller contract really take it over the top. He was tremendous, All-Pro level performer in 2022 and then a late season ACL injury(which are not necessarily age related) pretty much took him out for this season. Maybe if he were younger he bounces back quicker but every surgery and recovery is different. Bradley Chubb partially tore an ACL late in 2020 season at age 24 and had a terrible, sackless 2021 despite being 25. Miller's total cap hit would be 3 years at $17.5M per year when they can cut him after next season. Painful but he WAS panning out prior to a random serious injury. It's not and never was a top of the market DE contract.
  18. No I think the @CincinnatiKid is right he is subject to waivers despite his experience because it is at the very end of the season. That said.......I don't think he gets claimed by a team he doesn't want to go to. Different situation than Kareem Jackson.......who was released because Payton didn't want him around any longer.
  19. Van Demark played well at LT and poorly at RT in the preseason..........he might be the RT2 in a given game where the OT's are both enter the game healthy......but in the event of injury to Spencer Brown I'd suspect that Ifedi would be on the active roster and play RT ahead of Van Demark the following week.
  20. He can't be claimed he becomes a free agent automagically. And I think his 17 game checks are all fully guaranteed having been on the 53 in week 1..........so probably no financial reason to jump teams. So could just be a weekend on the PS and then if there is an injury he gets back on the 53.
  21. Sex? I'm told there is physical evidence that Miller has had very intimate relations with the victim in the past in the form of at least 3 pregnancies........and she used to have a pretty physical job swinging on poles as a sex worker prior to getting with Miller. So maybe their idea of normal contact is not the same as yours. Bottom line........nobody but those 2 really knows what the hell happened. You can pretend to know all you want............you still don't.
  22. Get some warmer packs for feet/toes/hands.
  23. We have our share of closeted or semi-closeted Boston pro sports fans on here. They generally try to keep it under wraps because they know it's disgusting........unless you are from New England there is no excuse to ever be both a Bills fan and a fan of a pro sports team from Boston. Bullfrog from WGR identifies as a Red Sox fan..........but he is one of those "finish line" fans that lose all interest after the team wins a title. Another reason to root for a Bills SB win.
  24. You clearly don't understand the subject of this thread. KC fans thought they were getting upgrades at OT.......because they expected those players talents to be optimized........because it was THEIR team. Bills fans had the same kind thoughts about the veteran replacements in the WR room........they were certain to be upgrades..........even though the more LIKELY outcome was that they would produce closer to or less than their career norms........which for Sherfield and Sharty were VERY poor numbers. You for some reason want to cherry pick players who have been constants and add them randomly to some equation that's irrelevant to the topic. And isn't the least bit enlightening because you aren't mentioning that the other constants/incumbents are all having down years. The Bills passing game has gotten worse.......Diggs and Davis are having down years........but that isn't the topic. Understand?
  25. So I posted the stats......and you.........thought I didn't know the stats? You're a little lost, Bermuda. The point is that Bills fans thought it was a big upgrade adding Sharty and Sherfield.......like the Chiefs did with the OT's.......the subject of this thread. It's just the nature of uninformed and/or unrealistic fans to expect the near best possible results..........even though the rule of thumb with free agency has always been that it usually(at least in year 1) hurts the team that loses the player more than it helps the team that acquires the player. But fwiw........Crowder has more receiving yardage than any of the other 3 this season as he circles the drain in what is probably his last year in the league. As I said later in this thread.........the shuffling of the washed up Crowder and the 3 other nobodies has not benefitted ANYONE. As for the name-fluid receiver recently known as Deonte Harris..........what's wrong with a tweak so that WR's 3-6 all have last names that start with "Sh"? The HuSH brothers were going to quiet the doubters like me. Teamwork makes the dreamwork.
