Oh Sammy...I don't miss you. Pathetic effort here.
BADOLBILZ replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
His career has been a huge disappointment.............and he's proven to be too dumb to be a regular season superstar.............but yeah he was huge for the Chiefs in the playoffs. When coverage gets tighter in the playoffs having a 3rd option that can play like a #1 for a few game stretch is very valuable. Richard Sherman ain't been the same since Sammy broke his spirit in that SB. Sherman had a pro bowl season that year. -
What the Ravens loss (and many other bad losses) should teach us
BADOLBILZ replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm concerned with the offensive line not playing well. Also don't like the lack of speed in the WR corps. But 3-4 game stretches of mostly inexplicably poor play in the middle of the schedule have characterized EVERY SINGLE season under McDermott. They've always rebounded and finished strong.........which is why people like you tend to forget the depths of how bad they looked in those stretches. I think it's the reason for most of the upsets in the last week. The players are starting to get beat up...........they look at the schedule and they weren't even half way thru it in some cases...........and it gets a little demoralizing........and that's all it takes to lay an egg in an NFL game. This happens to any business that is characterized by one seasonal rush of intense work..........be it harvesting crops in agriculture or tax season if you are an accountant etc.. You just reach a point where you feel like you wish you could fast forward a few weeks........then as the end comes in sight there is a second wind and and a realization that you have a chance to finish the job strong. I think the 17 game schedule has exacerbated the issue league-wide..........but once again, the NFL comes out smelling like a rose because they got a whole lotta' attention for the drama that emerged from all of the upsets. -

Kelly was the 14th selection in round 1 but the second Bills first round pick in 1983........the first being TE Tony Hunter with the 12th selection........GM Norm Pollom claimed that the only reason he didn't take a QB with pick #12 was that he was fine with either Jim Kelly or Dan Marino so he wanted to make sure he got the TE and if one of the QB's went at #13 then he'd take the other. So while the pick they used was part of that OJ/Cousineau sequence...........they were going to take Kelly with the prior pick. That OJ/Cousineau/Kelly sequence is very interesting though.........but far less interesting than when the Bills traded the Mahomes pick for Tre White and Josh Allen (as it's often re-told by the tall-taled fisherman of TBD). -
NFL Sunday Ticket could be headed to ESPN+

Streaming on Disney+/ESPN+ the games will likely be in 4K.........which would not be shitz. -
Is the #1 seed that big of a deal anymore?
BADOLBILZ replied to streetkings01's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Chiefs were not playing particularly well in the second half of last season. Being in command of that #1 seed for the last month of the season and then getting a bye week allowed them to focus on playing their best game against the only real competition they had in the AFC..........Buffalo. Homefield would give the Bills the same chance this year. Having the only bye is huge. Playing 2 high-intensity playoff games going into the AFC title game really seemed to take a toll on the Bills. -
Calling all RB and OL Gurus, Your Input Please
BADOLBILZ replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
1) Yes it is OZ.........the lateral first step by OL is the indicator that it is outside zone blocking play. Inside zone will be characterized by some immediate drive blocks where the OL steps right into the DL at the snap. 2) I don't know if the team asked him to trim down but I'm sure they told him they were going to stick with the OZ attack in 2021. The little bit of outside talent they brought in for the running game was OZ compatible. -
Calling all RB and OL Gurus, Your Input Please
BADOLBILZ replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree with Eric Wood that they should use an inside zone blocking scheme. They do not have the athleticism to excel in outside zone, the inside zone approach like the Bills used under Roman/Lynn works better when you have bigger and less athletic OL. Outside zone is why they signed Forrest Lamp and had John Feliciano trim down........to make them more athletic at OG for the OZ. But it's not like the reserves were well suited in the event that they had to play. It's more than just mental errors, they just aren't good at it and their best back........Singletary.........is not well suited to it. It's kind of funny when you think about it.........they signed two players.......who had disappointed their previous teams.......to basically minimum deals (Lamp and Breida) who were likely going to be keys to making outside zone work. -
Justin Zimmer to season ending IR - Torn ACL
BADOLBILZ replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
When Butler plays smart he can handle the 1 tech position fine.........he did it against the Ravens last season when they shut their run game down in the playoffs. I'm more concerned about what they lose in terms of getting into the backfield by not having Zimmer. Zimmer also has an awareness for making plays on the football that they don't otherwise have at the DT position. -

BADOLBILZ replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes that is exactly what it means. Also probably means more of the punchless DT combos of Phillips and Butler on the field at the same time. -
Well it's possible to be less invested........but MJS is not..........he posts A LOT. Fans of all teams over-react to shocking losses..........if it seems like MORE here that's because there are a lot of people who believe this is their SB window. You are wasting your breath trying to shout them down.........winning will bring back more positive takes. But if over-reacting is really your concern............then go into the weekly prediction threads and shout at everyone who has been irrationally picking the Bills to win by 20-30+ points every week...........which is almost EVERY prediction in those threads. Some people claim they want measured takes...........but they really don't.
-
You might be the most extreme of the over-reactors..........because displacing your anxiety about the team onto the fans is your get-off. Talk about inappropriate responses. As I've said.........if you were above it, you'd ignore the hyperbole after a bad loss. You are totally freaking out here this week though. How many posts have you created attacking fans this week?

I think that any money he gets from his new team gets deducted from what the Lions have to pay him since he cleared waivers. So there isn't a financial incentive to signing with a team that wants him on the active roster right away.............and by choosing Tampa he is going to the defending SB champ who a lot of players probably think will probably rise up late in the season and win the SB again..........because, you know, TB12.
-
He hasn't had a good season so I guess it's not out of the question that nobody wanted him.........but my assumption is that his agent informed teams he would not be reporting if claimed. Everyone prefers to be a free agent. Also, if he goes unclaimed he can retire.....he's 35 years old after all..........and still get paid the rest of the money that was due to him.

Barkley signing with the Panthers/ Darnold’s done

XFL? He will probably be Trubisky's replacement here in Buffalo next season. Seriously. -
Cover 1 All-22 Film Room - Bills passing offense against the Jags
BADOLBILZ replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
7) See the last offensive play of the painful late season loss at NE in 2019. Both tackles didn't come off the ball and two edge rushers had totally free runs at Allen. Not sure if Allen maybe didn't clearly express the snap count in the heat of a big moment or what but both were huge, end of game, high leverage plays with the same result. -
When they had waiver priority they snapped up Jordan Phillips and Terrell Pryor. Once they lost waiver priority their roster was also improving so the combination of those factors has reduced the incidence of high profile waiver wire pickups. I will add that they added Kenny Stills and Devonta Freeman to the PS heading into the playoffs last year............and Stills in particular was a very coveted player by Bills fans after his release during the season. They probably should have elevated him to the roster for the AFCCG considering how banged up they were at WR that day.

Beasley's health might have been the difference between winning and losing that game the way Daboll called it. They leaned on him heavily to get them out of their doldrums on offense against Miami but he just didn't have the ability to get the extra yards.........and even dropped a gimme that killed a drive. I recall one play where he pulled up short of the first where he basically slid down instead of his customary dive forward because he didn't want to take a shot in the ribs. He was OBVIOUSLY hindered.

This is where they miss John Brown: https://www.nfl.com/videos/smokey-and-mirrors-john-brown-scoops-screen-pass-from-turf-to-pay-dirt https://www.buffalobills.com/video/john-brown-takes-the-screen-pass-21-yards-bills-vs-patriots https://www.buffalobills.com/video/john-brown-moves-chains-with-electrifying-speed-on-third-and-long-screen-pass-bi They got nobody out there that can do this........it's a very forgotten aspect of what he brought to the team.
-
They are very close to breaking some big plays on these short passes..........but they don't have elusive RAC targets on the field. We've seen a lot of bad OC's try to force square pegs into round holes here over the years..........this isn't exactly sending Sam Gash out to the X or Z wideout position.........but a lot of the play calls they want to use just don't match up with the personnel they have on the field.

Being like that is a real thing. When the Bills were losing more than winning every year....and still packing the house...Promo could not post enough about how bad the fans were. Now that they have a winning organization he's moved on to greener pastures for misery mining. I see you following his energy vamping trend. It makes you feel better to publicly portray yourself as above the fray........so you look for said fray. If you were really above it..........you would just be ignoring it. Because anyone who has followed the team on message boards for any amount of time knows that the fan reaction to bad losses has always been the same whether it was good late 90's teams, drought teams or more recent years. It's how passionate fans of all pro sports teams react to bad performance. Overreaction is a function of the fact that changing anything is ultimately out of their control. Hence the hyperbole. Why you might actually think that it reflects poorly on the fan base I don't know because any group of fans that cares does the SAME thing. There are things to complain about with Bills fans........like ex-pats who would rather travel anywhere else in the country to show their loyalty rather than actually coming to Orchard Park to root on the team(for instance)...........but being disillusioned after what should be a once every 10+ year kind of upset loss is not really one of them.

Referee Tony Corrente corrupt as *****!!!
BADOLBILZ replied to Bubba Gump's topic in The Stadium Wall
For clarity........that's Cassius Marsh not Tony Marsh. And Cassius Marsh is an assh*le on the field..........that's the way he's always played going back to his Seattle days. Out. Of. Control. Corrente was clearly trying to back into him for whatever reason though, that should result in disciplinary action from the league. -
Yeah, the lack of activity at the trade deadline looks bad after such a horrible loss. But I think Fells might have played it that way. He reportedly got benched yesterday so maybe it was just a fit of anger. But if he did have designs on getting out of Detroit then by waiting until after the deadline to request his release then perhaps he can have his agent let teams know he won't accept a waiver claim and rather sit out the rest of the season if not allowed to choose his destination in UFA.
